FEASIBILITY STUDY OF DEEPWATER OPERATION BASED ON INDONESIA COST RECOVERY PSC SCHEME

    No full text
Nakor Energi Indonesia (not the real name) is responsible for the deepwater operation at Bratasena Field, originally finished by January 2020. Since 2017 Nakor has decided not to continue this operation in the Bratasena Field because it is not economical. Eleven jobs were canceled. However, in December 2019, the Government of Indonesia sent an inquiry to Nakor Energi to continue Bratasena Field’s operation until December 2027. The request’s background is because two big gas producer wells from that nearby field are currently utilizing the production facility at Bratasena.Nakor is trying to perform the feasibility study for all the projects that were canceled before. The analysis started by collecting all the important data like oil production data, capital expenditure estimation, and uncertainty analysis related to the project execution. Cost Recovery PSC payment scheme and Discounted Cash Flow model are used to evaluate the investment. The final result will be simulated with sensitivity analysis to measure each cost component’s impact on the investment calculation.Based on the analysis and calculation, by using the average of oil prices of US45.81perbarrel,capitalexpenditureofUS 45.81 per barrel, capital expenditure of US 49 million, and operating expenditure of US46million,thisprojectgeneratesanetcashflowofUS 46 million, this project generates a net cash flow of US 2.1 million. Nakor has the WACC of the company at 10%. This deepwater project gives the NPV of US$ 1.5 million, IRR of 48%, PBP for 12.06 months, and DPI of 1.13. Even though this project generates value for Nakor, the DPI of 1.13 does not meet the minimum economic hurdle from Nakor Oil Corporation.Nakor Energi Indonesia should divert the budget schedule to any other more feasible project, probably in their land operation with fewer risks and complexity for the current situation. The Bratasena Field can be kept as is and continue supporting gas production from Bongka Field while producing oil and gas from current online wells. Nakor Energi Indonesia might offer the deepwater operation to another offshore operator if there is any interest from other companies. Suppose there is no other company interested in taking over this field. In that case, Nakor Energi might start the wells’ permanent abandonment by utilizing the approved Asset Site Restoration budget for the wells without any future utilities and preparing the decommissioning process for this field to Indonesia’s Government. Keywords: Production Sharing Contract, Feasibility Study, Oil and Gas Deepwater Operatio

    No full text
Abstract. Coping mechanisms can be defined as efforts to master, reduce, or tolerate demand or strain. Coping mechanisms aim to provide the user with a state of well-being. Humor is one of the available coping mechanisms. Humor, when being used as a coping mechanism, may help undergraduate students to perform better in their academic performance during times of crisis. In this case, undergraduate students have to endure a crisis-based online learning environment which proves to be more difficult than the usual with the presence of a strain (pandemic crisis). The research aims to determine the relationship between humor in general and the different types of humor as a coping mechanism and the academic performance of undergraduate students in a crisis-based online learning environment. The research uses primary data generated from a simple random sampling technique using an online questionnaire that was distributed to respondents and secondary data from journals and literature. The respondents of this research are 389 undergraduate students from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). The data is analyzed using a Multiple Linear Regression and Pearson Correlation Method. The result shows that humor correlates positively with the academic performance of undergraduate students in a crisis-based online learning environment, albeit very weak or very small. The benign types of humor correlate positively with the academic performance of undergraduate students in a crisis-based online learning environment with a very low to a strong degree of strength. This research is unable to conclude the relationship between the injurious types of humor and the academic performance of undergraduate students in a crisis-based online learning environment due to statistically insignificant data. The findings of the research recommend practitioners such as undergraduate students and universities not to overuse humor as a coping mechanism to increase academic performance in a crisis-based online learning environment. The research also recommends using self-enhancing humor to build a crisis-based online learning environment with a sense of humor to make it easier to respond to crisis conditions. Future research may add moderating variables and greater sample size to approve or disprove the findings of this research. Keywords: Coping Mechanism, Humor, Academic Performance, Undergraduate Student

Abstract. In 2019, global growth weakened to 2.4 per cent, which affected banks in Indonesia. It is said that banks with strong liquidity must be careful, especially BUKU 3 and BUKU 4 banks since the liquidity of these banks was still relatively high; those are 103.49% and 91.81%. With the strict Liquidity risk, BUKU 3 and BUKU 4, it is necessary to see how much influence liquidity and credit risk has on the performance of BUKU 3 and 4 banks. Thus, the banks were able to do risk mapping and immediately mitigated the risk to improve bank performance and avoid default risk. In conducting this research, the data are gathered in the form of financial statements released by each bank sample found on each Bank's website and OJK website. The range of the data gathered is from 2015- 2019 in the five years of the published financial statement from 32 sample Banks categorized in BUKU 3 and BUKU 4 banks. This research uses panel regression to test each hypothesis. The result of this research shows that credit risk, which is represented by NPL Ratio, has a significant negative effect with ROA and ROE. At the same time, the liquidity ratio has a significant and positive effect on ROA and ROE. The effect of Bank Capital has a positive impact on ROA. While Bank Size does not affect all dependent variables partially but simultaneously affects ROA, ROE, and NIM. Meanwhile, the NIM variable is partially not affected by each independent variable. However, simultaneously, NIM is affected by all independent variables in this study. From the result, the author recommended each Bank needs to improve the credit monitoring process, in order to minimize credit risk and to overcome this liquidity risk, banks must seek other funding such as issuing sub-debt (debt securities), bonds, and increase capital. Keywords: Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, Return on Asset, Return on Equity, Net Interest Margin, Bank's Performanc
