    Strategic Decision Making for Shop Optimization & Centralization at PT CVX Using SMART Method

    PT. CVX is a major oil producer in Indonesia and has operated Rokan block in Riau province with total oil production of more than 11.5 billion barrels since 1931. However, oil production has declined in the last few years and this condition became even worse by the plunge of oil price which began in mid-2014.With the low oil production and low oil price condition, PT.CVX is required to downsize its operation to reduce operational cost & make the organization more efficient in the future. This paper will focus on how the Company overcome this business issue through Shop optimization & centralization as part of cost leadership business strategy by developing a recommendation strategy for the optimum number & configuration for D&C Shops through selection criteria to select several alternatives and conduct decision making analysis using SMART (Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique) method. The recommendation consists of 4 alternatives strategy for future D&C Shop configuration and the selection criteria will be based on 4 main attributes which represent the value of the company: safety, operational reliability, asset security & ease of execution. The result from analysis using SMART method shows that ‘Optimized Working Hours’ alternative is the most preferred alternative.     Does Patent Quality Differ among Firms in Japanese Chemical Sectors?

    Patents and chemical industry complete each other. Most chemical companies around the world used patent as their protection for inventions and innovations. There are nodoubts of qualities of patents in the chemical industry, however, do all the chemical industry sector produce high quality patents? This study will identify the differences in patent qualityamong four chemical industry sectors which are agricultural chemical (1), commodity chemical (2), diversified chemical (3), and specialty chemical (4). Thisstudy used forward patentcitation as a measurement of patent quality and analysed it by using Kruskal-Wallis test to see the similarities or differences between each sector. This research has found that there are no similarities in patent qualities in chemical industry sectors thus the quality of patent for each sector are different.     Study of Interpersonal Influence in Chicken Farmers Whatsapp Group: A Rhetorical Analysis

    Information plays an important role in determining farmer’s ability to optimize their livestock productivity. External sources of information, both digital and traditional, are crucial for farmers and greatly influence their decision-making process. Online community group chat is one of the sources that are widely used among farmers in which interpersonal influence tends to occur. This study aims to analyze interpersonal influences in “Peternak Ayam” group chat from May 2021. The method used is Netnography and based on Aristotle’s rhetorical appeal framework (pathos, logos, and ethos). The result of this study showed that members used interpersonal influences in the group, including setting expectations, prescribing, claiming expertise, celebrating acquiescence, and mutuality. Claiming expertise interpersonal influence and ethos appeal were found the most in the chat messages. Marketers should adopt these types of interpersonal influence and rhetorical appeals when promoting livestock farming products in the “Peternak Ayam” group. Keywords: Decision Making, Farmers, Interpersonal Influence, Rhetorical Strategie

    Green Supply Chain Management in Food Retail Industry: An Exploratory Study

    Green Supply Chain management (GSCM) has been the focus of many scholars and researchers in recent years, all with a common interest to determine how companies’ performances are being improved with the adoption of GSCM [1]. However, in most of the studies conducted by researchers, they are mainly concerned with the GSCM in manufacturing industry and less attention was given to the food retail industry. Therefore, this research is relevant and intend to explore GSCM further, especially in the context of Malaysian food retail industry so that the results from the findings will be applicable for food retail stores to contribute to improving the companies’ performances through GSCM.     Analysis of Forming-Factors of Celebrity-Owned-Brand and Their Influence on Customer's Repurchase Intentions

    Many previous studies had examined the impact of celebrity endorsement on customer’s repurchase intention. However, there is only a dearth of research that explores the role of celebrity endorsement in the context of celebrity’s own brand. This study aims to explore the factors that determine customers’ intention to repurchase celebrity’s own brands and their appeals to fans and non-fans. A marketing survey was conducted on more than 200 customers who had purchased brands that were owned by Indonesian celebrities. This study found that the Differentiation Value becomes the major determinants for fans and Unique Brand Positioning for non-fans to repurchase celebrity-owned-brand. Brand Attitude also has been proven to influence customers to repurchase celebrity’s own brand. Knowing that only a few studies discuss this topic, especially in Indonesia, the results of this study can provide new insights on customers’ behavior towards celebrity-owned-brand and contribute to the entertainment industry. Keywords: Celebrity, endorsement, celebrity’s own brand, fans, repurchase intention

    The Way Banks have Managed Their Business since the Emergence of Fintech P2PL in Indonesia

    This paper highlights the phenomenon since the emergence of Peer-to-Peer lending (P2PL) because the consequences of its emergence can disrupt banking development and can also capture the market. Banks must be prepared to compete with P2PL fintech and encouraged by the Covid-19 pandemic. Restrictions on mobilization are also an obstacle for banks, is going digital the solution? And when banking transforms into digital, it can lead to competition between the Bank and Fintech P2PL in the future. The research philosophy of this research will be carried out pragmatism. The authors will use qualitative research for the research methodology because it does not aim to test or prove the theory about P2PL and banking. After all, the theory has not been researched. Using a semi structured interview, starting with a list of predetermined themes and some key questions related to p2pl fintech and banking themes to guide each interview behavior. The contribution of this research will be divided into three, to serve as a reference in carrying out the business transformation from traditional to digital, to be a reference in making regulations, and as literature and reference for future research.Keyword:disrupt, banking, p2p

    Ambon's Investment Impact Throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic

    The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the disruption of all aspects in society. It has sent waves of panic throughout the world, leaving no sector untouched, and incited an economic recession which will not be quickly overcome. The severity of this economic crisis is illustrated by a 3.3% fall in the global GDP in 2020. The devastating effects of the pandemic caused a decrease of 3.1 million people in the world population [6]. More than three-quarters of the world have incepted lockdown policies as a result of the pandemic setting developing countries backwards due to the lack of resources in the form of labour, medical, infrastructure and many more as these resources are human's basic needs. Although certain industries such as technology and health insurance have benefitted from the pandemic, industries such as the airline sector, oil and gas, travel and leisure are struggling to adapt to the new conditions generated by the pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic indisputably impacts all economic arenas. As such, this research paper aims to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on investment in Ambon The qualitative method was employed for this research in order to identify the actual conditions within Ambon, to assess the economic ramifications on Ambon in light of COVID- 19. By interviewing 11 influential stakeholders in the Ambonese economy, different interpretations will be considered and a new theory will be developed in regards to the investment impact throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in Ambon. Ultimately, the rationale underpinning this research is to help Ambon realise its economic potential. This research will also shed light on the business sectors to optimise in the near future. This research will also provide insight for both the private and public sector in order to optimise their policies.     Scrum Framework Implementation for Software Development Projects in IT Companies

    The project success needs to be measured to find out whether the implementation method is fit. The assessment criteria used to measure project success vary and depend on several factors, such as scope and complexity. In IT projects, two well-known methods are Traditional and Agile. This study assesses whether the Scrum applied to several ongoing projects in a company is appropriate by finding the criteria used in project measurement and evaluating the project’s success. This study examines an IT company that focuses on providing network and application development for its parent company to choose a suitable method for its projects. Currently, the Agile method (Scrum) is used in several projects as a pilot. We utilize the AHP method to determine the project success measurement and whether the Agile (Scrum) method can be applied throughout all IT projects in the company.     Company knowledge management is needed to learn and support employee's work, generate new value for the company, and increase work productivity. Through the process of knowledge management will speed up access to information and knowledge and create innovation. One feature of knowledge management that has quite widely used in the company is the repository. Divisi Digital Service (DDS) already has a system repository which is called DIAS. However, now DIAS is not used because it is not compatible and cannot be updated anymore. DDS does not have a centralized place to contain employee documents. This research wants to find out how the DDS storage needs and what the right solution to answer the DDS needs. This research approach uses GAP analysis and requirements analysis to understand the needs of the DDS employees. GAP analysis helps the author to explore shortcomings that exist in previous systems and requirements analysis helps the author identify related to current employee needs. After analyze, emerged about the proposed solution to meet the needs of DDS. The proposed solution is new product development. This research focuses on three aspects of new product development are idea generation, idea validation, and concept development. The results of the idea generation and idea evaluation are presented in the form of mind maps and card sorting results tables. The product concept results are presented in the form of a simple flowchart and prototype. The prototype is tested toward potential users and the results of the simple prototype test are expected to provide input in further product development to suit the wants and needs of employees. Feedback from the prototype test results is the final solution for this research. The results of this research are proposes solutions and improvements that can apply to the development of knowledge repositories.     Implementation of Last Planner System To Improve Project Productivity (Case Study: PT. Inomata Konsultama)

    PT. Inomata Konsultama became the main contractor for one of Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG) project called Hydrographic Survey Package 5, Maluku Site. During the first to the fourth months of work progress plan the company undergo a decreasing productivity with deviation of 6% to 25% in the fourth month of the current total workload, this deviation makes the company have to suffer a loss on operating costs aproximately IDR 886,245,668.30. Based using last planner system framework to analize the symptoms, the lack of communication, unclear daily targets from the team leader and poor communication design between workers levels are supporting factors for not achieving project targets. The main root cause of the unachieved project target is caused by ""no collaborative design between the low level workers and mid- high level of workers"" whereas the average condition Percent Plan Complete is only 46%. By focusing on the factor of ""no collaborative design between the low level workers and mid- high level of workers"", several alternative solutions were given such as business process redesign, daily huddle meeting, and project management software. By using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, the Daily Huddle Meeting is recommended. From the suggested solutions, the expected productivity target can be increased by the PPC value to 63.57% and reducing operating costs by Rp. 266,762,148.51. Keywords: Daily Huddle Meetings, Last Planner System, Project Management, PPC, Productivity
