Efficiency analysis in Islamic merge bank branch using data envelopment analysis
The process of merging three participant banks into one large bank delivers some operational issues. This paper assessed the merger of Islamic Banks in Indonesia in terms of performance evaluation to seek the best optimization strategy. The research is conducted by evaluating the operational efficiency of 50 branches from the three participant banks prior to merger for last two years. The inputs are employee number, rent cost, and the number of tellers, while the outputs are amount of deposits, amount of financing, number of transactions, and number of customers. The performance is evaluated using data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Malmquist index as the performance benchmarking tools by measuring the technical, scale efficiency and total productivity change. The results show which participant bank has a better performance, indicate area of bank branches that need to be optimized, and give recommendation about the suitable branch model for the merged bank.Keyword:data envelopment analysis, operational efficiency, Malmquist index, merger and acquisition, bank branch networ
Mitigating Covid19 Outbreak to Workforce Safety & Health on XYZ Operation Excellence Perspective using Analytic Hierarchy Process
CVX, Fortune 500 top twenty energy company, has been on a journey to improve return in tough business environment, therefore, XYZ, as CVX subsidiary in Indonesia, need to find the best streamline solution in every business aspect including the challenge on natural gas processing in Northern Area of Operation Department who deals with high gas plant operation & maintenance costs, resources gap, and negative feedbacks from stakeholders. The situation and problem analysis, which were elaborated using fish bone diagram method, confirmed that the most critical issue was field personnel reduction due to Covid19 outbreak which lead to shut down production facilities. From the analysis result using AHP, operation mode change by merging gas plant operation with gathering station where located in the same area is the best solution which can fulfil most of operation excellence focus areas on workforce safety & health; process safety, reliability, & integrity; environment; and efficiency; also, significantly exceeding the other two alternatives: temporary shutdown gas plant operation and outsource gas plant operation. The forementioned temporary solution to mitigate Covid19 outbreak may lead to permanent solution since it improves gas production system value, lowering flaring intensity, and aligned with CVX next five years focuses. Integrated Decision-making Approach to Solve Owner Estimate Overdue Problem in Services Procurement Activity
Abstract—Owner Estimate (OE) is used in procurement activity to serve as a benchmark for evaluating the bidder’s offer. OE failure to meet the target completion time becomes a common occurrence. The potential impact for an LNG plant is a loss of approximately USD 402 thousand from the gas losses due to the train trip. The research objectives are to identify possible causes of OE overdue problems, analyze and choose the best solution to improve internal effectiveness, and conduct the procurement process. This research also aims to demonstrate an integrated decision-making approach using a combination of methods. The criteria and alternatives solution is generated using Value-Focused Thinking (VFT), the combination of Best-Worst Method (BWM) Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used in conjunction to select the most appropriate solution, and Discrete-Event Simulation (DES) is performed to devise evidence-based implementation scenarios. The root causes of the OE problem are the expired software license and insufficient manning quantity. Implementation scenarios are obtained depending on the number of purchase requisitions. From this research, the integrated decision-making approach is proven to effectively solve the problem in developing a solution that is easy to implement by the decision-makers and improves procurement activity as a whole.Keyword:Analytic hierarchy process, best-worst method, discrete-event simulation, kepner-tregoe, multi-criteria decision-making, sensitivity analysi
Proposed A Design Knowledge-Based Performance Management Systems Framework In Pertamina University
This year, the Ministry of Education and Culture is innovating by creating a transformation program aimed at universities. The innovation in this program is the establishment of eight Main Performance Indicators (IKU) that universities need to follow and fulfill. The method that universities can use in order to adapt to this program is to implement a Performance Management System (PMS). Most of the tertiary institutions do not have PMS which can present the eight Main Performance Indicators. Therefore, the aim of this research is to design PMS that have been integrated with the eight IKU from Ministry of Education so that it can make it easier for universities to achieve and fulfill these indicators. In this study, the college used as the object is Pertamina University. In this study, the PMS used was the Knowledge-Based Performance Management System (KBPMS). KBPMS has three perspectives, organizational output, internal processes and resource capabilities. This perspective is also divided into several aspects of the criteria and for KPIs that have been prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture will be integrated into non-financial aspects from the perspective of organizational output. Keywords: Pertamina University, Performance Management System, “Indikator Kinerja Utama”, KBPS
Exploring Voice of Customers to Chatbot for Customer Service with Sentiment Analysis
Abstract. Chatbots have been widely employed across a wide variety of companies and industries, from small- and medium-sized businesses to large corporations, and from e-commerce to financial institutions. Although chatbots have proven to be far more efficient and quicker than human agents, they do not always provide customers with a satisfactory experience because they lack a personal touch. Customer issues are often left unresolved and many are unsatisfied with chatbot services. This is unfavorable for firms that use chatbots for customer services as this jeopardizes their relationship with valued consumers. Thus, customer input is essential to streamline the product innovation process. This study uses a hybrid method involving lexicon-based TextBlob and logistic regression techniques to identify the sentiments of consumers toward chatbots for customer services based on user-generated content on Twitter. The results show that although people generally have positive encounters with chatbots, the gap between positive and negative sentiments is relatively small. This research provides insights that businesses can use to improve chatbot technology based on the voice of the customer to provide users with higher quality customer services in the future, especially since unsatisfied customers could be a threat to a business’s performance. DIGITAL INNOVATION IMPLEMENTATION TO PREVENTS INCIDENT CASE USING REAL TIME iCCTV MONITORING SYSTEM WITH CHANGE & CONFLICT MANAGEMENT APPROACH (Case Study PT. CSOC*)
Central Sumatera Oil Company (CSOC) is a subsidiary of one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies, which also lead the Indonesia national oil production for many decades with 25 – 30% of total country daily production. With the vision of “to be the global energy company most admired for its people, partnership and performance”, CSOC always want to be at the forefront for production and innovation. iCCTV is one of the CSOC forefront innovation that bring up safety to another level of implementation to prevent incident case in B&R rig operation. This project was started in early of 2019 and believed to be the pioneer to others team in CSOC operation and in the future to be implement in others business unit or even other companies.By collecting information during field interviews with constructing a Research Design Questions, some root causes were analyzed as the causal factor of main problem why the performance of online iCCTV was not too effective at the beginning of implementation through fishbone diagram analysis. With signal issue and punishment /accountability model issue were believed as most contributing factors to be solve in order to boost of the number of online iCCTV in B&R rig operation. The change management with Kotter’s 8 step innovative changes approach and conflict management by Thomas & Kilmann approach were used to create solutions on the issues arises. The result of implementing correct change management and conflict management approach were able to bring the online iCCTV status from average of 25 – 35% to 50 – 60% in order to reach the goal which being set by the B&R management at the beginning of the project.
