    This study aims to find out users' perceptions towards quality of Window of the World (WOW) service based on the LibQUAL+TM models in the library of Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta. The type of the study is descriptive quantitative. Subjects of the study were users of the facilities of WOW service, while the object of the study was users' perception about the quality of WOW service. Data were obtained from questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. Sampling used incidental sampling technique, with a sample size of 100 respondents. There was a single variable, i.e. perception about WOW service. Data analysis used the mean and grand mean. Measurement of users' perception was based on the Libqual+TM models that included four dimensions. These were ability and attitude of librarians in serving (Service Affect-SA), the dimensions of the facilities and atmosphere of the space of the library (Library As Place-LP), the dimensions of the user and means of access (Personal Control-PC), and the dimensions of information access (information access-IA). Each dimension showed that the perception of the dimension of librarian in serving (Service Affact-SA) with an average of 3.05 (good), the dimensions of the facilities and atmosphere of the space of the library (Library As Place-LP) with an average of 3.13 (good), the dimensional directions and means of access (Personal Control-PC) with an average of 3.12 (good), and the dimensions of information access (information access-IA) with an average of 3.06 (good). The result showed that the users' perception about WOW service based on LibQUAL+TM models in library of Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta was good. It can be seen from the total average of variable that is equal to 3.09, so it is necessary to improve the quality of WOW service in the library of Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta to achieve excellent category. It was especially necessary to improve quality at its lowest dimensions on the dimensions of librarians in serving (Service Affect - SA) with an average of 3.05

    It is important to assess usability of Integrated Library Information System (SIPUS) at UGM in order to find out whether the system that has been developed by the Central Library of UGM is useful and accepted by user libraries spread out within the campus. There are three criteria of usability assessment based on the standard of ISO 9241-11 (1998), i.e. efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction. This ISO standard is used because it has a series of assessment criteria relevant with the problems of SIPUS implementation at various libraries within UGM. The study was descriptive quantitative. Data collected during the study were analyzed using statistical method and interpreted. Population of the study were the librarians at UGM. Samples consisted of 30 librarians/library staff at faculty libraries, Central Library, the library of vocational school and Jakarta Campus.     A school library that exists in all levels of schools is a facility that supports the process of productive learningfor thefuffillment of information needs especially literature and the information deriving from the teachers. This article is written in response to the problem encountered in school libraries particularly at the elementary school at Subdistrict of Minggir District of Sleman with poor facilities, limited collection and aquisition and management. These conditions will indirectly affect the utilization of the school library by the teachers at elementary schools. This writing is meant to help teachers at elementary schools to understand the meaning of the library within the school. Approach to the analysis is based on the theory of social construction introduced by Peter L. Berger mtd T. Luclcrnan. We can use the concept of meaning and rests on thefact that there are objective reality, symbolic reality, and subjective reality. It is emphasized that the objective reality would affect the return to a subjective reality through a process of internalization. Subjective reality is inseparable from the process of socialization. Subjective reality affects the externalization process at the end. This condition can be associated with the birth of understanding what has been and will be done by the teacher in an elementary school library in the symbolic reality.     The aim ofthis research are (1) to know the influence of Rembang Public Library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area toward animo of visits to the libratyt (2) to know user perception about Rembang Public Library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area (3) to know animo of visits to Rembang Public Library. This was a quantitative research that used correlation method between location (independent variable) and animo of visits (dependent variable). Data were collected through questionnaire, interview and documentation. Data analysis used product moment correlation and processed using SPSS version 17 for Windows. The result of the study showed there was significant correlation between location and animo of visits. Score of correlation was 0.632 at significance level 5% r table is 0.202. The Rembang public library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area belonged to good category whereby grand mean of location variable was 2.86. Animo of visits also belonged to high category whereby grand mean was 3.01

    Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has the vision to become a healthy, excellent, and prosperous international university in healthy, superior, and prosperous. To achieve its vision, the university has to develop human resources, including librarians as professionals in the field of libraries, documentation, and information. The efforts in developing the professionalism of librarians can be made by improving their competence. One of the concepts of developing library profession outlined by International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is Continuing Professional Development (CPD). However, in general the implementation of CPD concept in library profession has not got much attention. The objective of the study is to find out the implementation of CPD concept in efforts to develop library profession at Semarang State University. Respondents consisted of 40 librarians, comprising those working at the main library (22 librarians) and at the departemental or faculty libraries. The study used quantitative method the result showed that (1) the librarians were not yet familiar with CPD concept; (2) UNNES Library has not implemented CPD concept in developing its professional librarians, (3) UNNES has not had a clear policy commitment in developing its professional librarians, (4) Continuous efforts have to be made in order to develop professional librarians at UNNES with the support of the university leaders
