    Bibliotherapy dalam menumbuhkan sikap optimis pasien

    Introduction. One of the librarians’ role is to improve the feeling of  optimistic through bibliotheraphy on patients.  This paper focuses on bibliotherapy to improve patients’ optimistic attitude. This study aims to understand the benefits of bibliotheraphy from patients’ health perspectives.  Data Collection Method: This research used a quasi-experimental approach. Data collection was conducted through patients observation, in-depth interviews and literature study. Our study population was patients in several hospital as well as involving academic experts in the field of bibliotheraphy. Analysis Data: The data was analysed based opn qualitative approach. Results and Discussions: There were 5 implementation stages of bibliotherapy to the patients: (1) Patients were motivated by the librarian with the games  involving patients with positive advice (2) The librarian asked the patients to read the prepared material (3) The librarian gaves patients some time to reflect on their reading materials (4) The librarian discussed  with patients about the reading materials (5) the librarian evaluated by listening to the patients. Conclusion: Bibliotherapy can be useful for health improvement, particularly to improve optimistic attitude of patients in dealing with their disease

    Introduction. This study discusses about Bibliobattle as a promotion strategy conducted by the Library of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Bibliobattle is a unique activity because it has a book-like shape but is packed in game form. Research on library promotion using Bibliobattle in a special library of ministries has never been done.Data Collection Method. The research approach used is qualitative with case study method. The data collection method used is by observation, interview and document study. The research informants were chosen based on purposive sampling method where there were criteria in the selection.Analysis Data. Data were analyzed by data reduction, interpretation, analyzed and conducted withdrawal conclusion.Result and Discussions. The promotion strategy using Bibliobattle on its implementation focuses on promotion through public relations. In addition, to promote Bibliobattle's activities, librarians focus on promotional tools of advertising, personal selling, and direct and digital marketing.Conclutions. The results of this study show that promotional strategies using Bibliobattle in fact not only promote the existence of libraries, but the library's own collection. During this time the focus of promotional activities in the special library is still limited to the promotion of the library unit

    Introduction. Socio-demographic factors, such as gender and age, may affect the use of information resources for library users. These factors are often used as the antecedent variables in examining the use of information resources in the library. The purpose of research was to determine the expected and obtained satisfaction of students using printed and electronic information sources at Universitas Sumatera Utara Library.Data Collection Method. This study used a quantitative approach by using questionnaires. The sample was taken by using Taro Yamane formula. Data Analysis. The data processing used Lisrel version 8.8, Chi-Square statistics, multivariate analysis of variance and path analysis. Results and Discussions. Among male and female students, there was  no significant difference in using of information resources and no significant discrepancy between expected and obtained satisfactions. The printed and electronic information resources were available at USU Library to satisfy both gender.Conclusions. Socio-demographic factors of gender has no significant effect in using printed and electronic information resources at USU Library. Future research should discuss other antecedent variables such as ethnicity

    Introduction. This research aimed to understand efforts should be taken so that the authenticity of electronic records can be maintained in the digital environment. Data Collection Method. This research used a systematic literature review published by scientific journals from January 2010 to April 2019 derived from electronic information sources subscribed by the University of Indonesia Library. The results of this review are reported using guidelines for Systematic Literature Review (SLR) which has three stages, namely planning, implementation, and reporting.Analysis Data. Descriptive quantitative was employed to analyze the data by using simple statistic application (Microsoft Office Excel 2007). Results and Discussion. The results indicated that there are 18 literatures (3%) of the total search results of 561 relevant literatures discussing electronic records and ways to maintain their authenticity in digital era. There were 12 articles providing sufficient information about this matter.Conclusion. The majority of the articles mentioned that to maintain the authenticity of electronic archives in digital era must be supported by policy makers such as the government. In addition, the knowledge and skills of archival managers, as well as appropriate technology are also needed

    Introduction. This research aims to determine the utilization of social media, especially Facebook in  academic libraries. It explores the impact of Facebook  content to user activity with the level of user engagement. This research is considered signifincat due to the fact that social media has not been used optimally by the libraries.Data collection methods. This research used a qualitative approach method with interviews by considering user engagement parameters in 4 categories: (1) Literature Exhibits (2) Engaging topic (3) Community Building (4) Library showcasing. This study also used data histories and  Facebook content. Using 5 state academic libraries, the data was gatheres by grouping the data of the user engagement  with the  followers’  response including activities of like, comment, shares from each account.Analysis Data. This research was analysed by using a content analysis.Results and discusions. Most libarires post the category of Library Showcasing, while most users respond to the category Enganging Topics. Facebook has effects of increasing user engagement . It is found that there is a mismatch between postings from admin staff and the follower responses.Conclusions.  Social media function in library is considered as an effective channel of communication, promotion, marketing as well as to improve user engagement. The decicion making related to library services by utilizing social media has not been conducted

    Introduction. This paper investigate the research behaviour in Undergraduate Program of Library Science Faculty of Administrative Science Universitas Brawijaya.Data Collection Method. This research uses descriptive methods with quantitative approach through documentation and observation for data collection, a number of ninety-four undergraduate theses are explained in this study.Data Analysis. Data analysis used in this study is descriptive statistical analysis.Results and Discussion. This study has several result: 1) The characteristics of literature based on  form type is book which most often used with 6.074 times (66,8%), after that, literature in print is most frequently cited literature with the 8.236 times (90,6%), then literature in Indonesian probably cited with the 8.116 times (88,25%), the amount of 6.617 times (73,3%) use literature from 0 to 10 years.2) Author that probably cited was Sugiyono with 542 times (6,91%). 3) half life of literature is 10 years.Conclusions. Based of the findings, the research behaviour was defined, so the provided suggestion for collection developmet and weeding policies in the the university library, also for administrators of education in the faculty to provide more control over policies in terms of citation

In digital era, people are free to create and access information, making it overload. This article aims to find out how libraries and librarians do when facing with rapidly advance technology.Data collection method. This paper used literature study related to technology development of libraries. This paper also applied  library observations, referring to relevant sources from various media, such as books, journals, and magazines.Analysis Data. Data analysis was conducted by classifying, analyzing, comparing, and interpreting data to obtain the conclusion.Results and Discussions. The results showed that one library will survive  as long as it has the ability to adapt with technology development. The adaptation needs an ability to accommodate dramatic changes and has an effort to improve its capabilities to face challenges.Conclusion.     Introduction. Radio Boekoe as a community that affected by the determination of information technology, adapts through the deconstruction process of information dissemination access points by utilizing hybrid media. This study aims to discuss the deconstruction process of information dissemination access points on Radio Boekoe.Research methods. This research used a qualitative method with case study approach. The process of collecting data involved observations, interviews, and documentation studies. The informants are the founder, manager and volunteer of Radio Boekoe.Data Analysis. The research data was analyzed with the stages of reduction, display, and drawing conclusions.Results and Discussion. The deconstruction process of information access points on Radio Boekoe occurred through the use of hybrid media. The deconstruction process of the information access point was expanded to the process of adding information access capacity in the form of Bale Black Box co-working space.Conclusions. The process of deconstruction of information access points on Radio Boekoe occurs through the shifting of local access points in the form of the Gelaran Iboekoe to global hybrid media-based access in the form of internet radio. Furthermore, it is recommended to conduct a research to examine the effectiveness of using hybrid media to expand information access points

    Librarian role in research library services in Indonesian Institute of Sciences

    Introduction.In a research library, researchers are the main players, while . librarians should be the partners in conducting research even though this combination rarely happens. In general, librarians are only involved in a part of research activities as their research assistants to carry out some administrative stuffs, such as distributing questionnaires and sending invitation letters, instead of designing a research plan and/or somequestionnaires or doing data analyses.Data Collection Method. We interviewed librarians in the Center for Political Studies, Research Center for Economic, Center for Science and Technology Development, and Center for Scientific Documentation and Information of Indonesian Institute of Sciences, Jakarta.Data Analyses. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis methods, through the direct interview, where data categorized by using open coding.Results and Discussions.The results stated that 86.7% of respondents had ever been involved in research activities carried out by the research center in the same or different units. From that result, 53.3% respondents ever engaged research activities up to 5 times in a year. In the other hands, librarians who answer conduct independent research and are often involved in the research are 13% respondents. Some recommendations figured out from this research are (1) a librarian could be a  plagiarism examiner for a research proposal, (2) a librarian must be literated in information technologies, (3) a librarian should be involved in examining a literature review of the proposal and writing the manuscripts.Conclusions.The role of a librarian is not just as a research assistant or a data collector but as a research buddy who could help addressing some documentative problems

    Introduction. Electronic theses & dissertations is one important service at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library  is to simplify the end-user reading service. However,it is still not understood whether the users are satisfied with the new service.  An analysis is needed to examine the user acceptance of electronic theses & dissertations implemented by UGM Library.Data Collection Method. This paper  used an acceptance analysis with a qualitative approach by interviewing three UGM students.Analysis Data. The paper applied  Stuart Hall's theory of encoding-decoding.Results and Discussions. The results showed that the informants were categorises into two  positions. One informant was in a dominant hegemonic position and the others were in  negotiated positions. The background of the study program, the level of education and experiences, might influence the differences in the acceptance and interpretation of electronic theses & dissertations.Conclusions. There are various perspectives of how users examine to the  electronic theses & dissertations at UGM Library
