    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan serta seberapa besar pengaruh antara nilai-nilai keislaman terhadap prilaku etika profesi menurut Ikatan Pustakawan Indonesia (IPI) oleh pustakawan muslim Badan Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Dalam pengambilan data digunakan metode kuesioner dengan instrumen angket, sedangkan wawancara dan telaah pustaka sebagai pelengkap. Setelah data diperoleh, kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi linier sederhana sehingga didapatkan hasil kuantitatif. Setelah itu, data tersebut dijelaskan dengan teknik analisis kualitatif yang didukung dengan hasil wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah hasil penelitian terapan perilaku etika pustakawan menurut IPI di Badan Perpustakaan Daerah dan Arsip Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta yang dipengaruhi oleh salah satu faktor nurture yakni nilai-nilai keislaman. Maka dari itu, demi meningkatkan kualitas pustakawan Indonesia, perlu dilakukan penelitian secara mendalam dan meluas tentang etika profesi pustakawan. Content analysis is a research method used to determine the conclusion of a text.The new role of a librarian is an expert in the field of information technology that supports information, including programming languages, networking, webmaster and computer technicians.     This research on the use of reference collection as reconciliation material at Library Library of Gadjah Mada University aims to know how far the use of reference collection level Main Library Gadjah Mada University, by focusing on visiting intensity, knowledge of the benefit, and the benefit value of reference book. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method. With the non random samplings that chooses respondents by accident. The number of sample is 75 respondent. The techniques used in collecting data are observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. Data analysis use in this research is a qualitative descriptive analysis with across tabulation technique method, which is presented in the from of frequency distribution and percentage table. The research show that in visiting intensity 45% respondent often come albeit the visiting frequency only 3 up to 5 times in a month with the time duration for more than 2 hours in one visit so it can be said that the visiting intensity is still high, 73% respondents read reference books to get information. In the knowledge of reference book collection, the research shows that 92% respondents know that reference books are used as reference materials; a profound book that is not needed to be read thoroughly. 49% respondents use reference book for the first time at the university. Their reason to use the reference books because they want to know, increase their knowledge and search for information. 73% respondents get reference book from UGM's library. In the use of reference collection activity, 59% respondents often use it. Although there is still a reason in using reference book rarely because they have not needed it yet 56% responden never find difficulties. Nevertheless there are still respondents who find difficulties in understanding the language. 71% respondents ask help from librarians if they get difficulty in using reference book. The knowledge of the benefit and the benefit value of reference collection as a reference materials in helping to finish study assignment is that 49% respondents use reference book as reference materials in finishing their study assignment. 57% respondents said that the reference collections of Main Library of UGM support their study. As a final conclusion of this research is that in general, the reference collection at Main Library of Gadjah Mada University has been used to search information which can be used as reference material in helping to finish study assignments, including assignment in writing paper and final assignment, etc. ( Key Words : Reference Collection, Library

    This study is aimed at describing the library service quality of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta from the point of view of users, and at finding out factors influencing it. This description is really important in order to be able to develop it, as the supporter of realizing the three responsibilities of university or institute, namely education, research, and social service. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach of survey method. Sampling is taken from the group of library users numbering 338 people, and 50 of library staffs. Whereas data collecting is conducted through library research, field research consisting ofdocumentation, questionnaire, and interview The data is organized in tables offrequency and percentage distribution, and it is then described. Based on the service quality concept quoted from the decision of minister of state apparatus empowerment no. 8l of L993, there are ten indicators of service quality namely simplicity, clarity and certainfy,o pennesse, fficiency, economy,f air distribution, punctuality, physical facility, capacity and staff attitude. The result of study indicates that the library service quality of IAIN Sunan Kalijaga yogyakarta based on of users' opinion is generally good. This conclusion is based on the mean result7O.247o of the users have good opinion about the indicators of the library service quality. Factors influencing the library service quality are organization climate (87.007o),s upervisions ystem( 68.67Vo)a, nd bureaucracys tructure( 85.337o)A. lthough the serviceq uality at the IAIN Sunan Kalijaga's Library is in general good, there are things to consider. The first is about library location which is, accarding to the majority of users, not strategic. The second, is the necessity of developing service security and comfortable service' The third is the necessity ofdeveloping reliable physical facilities. Lastly, it is necessary to develop library collection both in quantity and in quality taking the needs of new departments and study programs into consideration

    Level equality short education and training program for librarians is a short course that aims at adding the number of librarian functional employment deriving from Civil Government Employees that have a background of nonlibrary education. The employees, therefore its effectivenesss should be informed. This writing explains the effectiveness of level equality short education and training program for librarian based on the responds of participant and their Managing Personnel of Parents Organizations/Institutions whether or not this short course is effictive according to their perception. The effectiveness of this short course is marked by the occurrence or no occurrence of participant by skill, knowledge, and performance improvement as the indicators influenced. While the influencing indicators are curiculum suitability, instructors ability and treatment to participants. The result of the research showed that there were dffirent perceptions among the participants and their Managing Personnel of Parent Organizations/Institutions. The participants stated that this short course was not effective while their Managing Personnel of Parent Organization/Institutions stated that this short course was effective. This dffirence happened since, according to the participant's perception, there was no significant improvement to skill and knowledge. Key words: Effectiveness; Education and Training Progra
