    Maintaining the company and stakeholders value through restructuring in pt. Nibia

    Abstract. PT. NIBIA is a vertically integrated coal mining company. The company was established in 1999 as a logging company before eventually switched their business line to coal in 2005. Since then the company continued to expand and made their mark in both domestic and international coal market. The resume of PT. NIBIA is highlighted with the possession of the stellar long term coal supply contract with PT. PLN. PT. NIBIA secured the long term contract in 2007 and started their supply in 2009. As the coal market secured by the long term contract, PT. Nibia began massive expansion by acquiring 13 mines in Jambi province and logistics transportation to ensure the readiness of both coal reserves and logistics to fulfill their supply obligation to PT. PLN. In 2012, coal industry started to deteriorate and the descend has continued until today. The significant decline in coal price has hit the PT. NIBIA profit margin. The company situation worsen by the operational issues surrounding the coal quality and delivery of the coal to its customer, PT. PLN. PT. NIBIA experience negative cashflow and has drained their working capital. As a result, PT. Nibia has forcefully ceased their operation and unable to service their debts. The purpose of this thesis is to review the business of PT. NIBIA and to provide the alternative solutions to address their business issues. The Porter's 5 Forces and SWOT analysis were utilized to analyze both internal and external factors affecting PT. NIBIA performance. Based on the business analysis, there are alternative solutions to address PT. Nibia issues namely, (i) self-insolvency proceeding (ii) new investor (iii) financial restructuring and operation overhaul. The author believes these solution could address the company issues.In this case, financial restructuring and operation overhaul have been concluded as the best suitable solution to address company issues while also protect the stakeholder's values. Keywords: Financial Restructuring, Operation Overhaul, Stakeholder's Valu

    Abstract. PT. Pamelindo Sakti Perkasa is an established contractor of electrical, civil and printing since 2016. For two years, they built a network to other company or people and management system in company to run the business because they believe good networking and system are key factor to success. To support this research, extracting primary and secondary data has been carried out and then continued by analyzing the internal and external environment of PT. Pamelindo Sakti Perkasa. To discover the whole situation regarding the business issue and formulate the business  growth strategy by using growth strategy, tows matrix, and diamond strategy. The result of this research are that PT. Pamelindo Sakti Perkasa market has not reach target to gain more revenues although South Sumatera is a big market. PT. Pamelindo Sakti Perkasa is planning to get more revenues in South Sumatera market by forming an intensive communication with their existing customers and new potential customers, join e-procurement, and maintain their suppliers to get sustainable advantages.     Abstract. One of major challenges for organizations nowadays is the aging and shortening of experienced workforces. As experienced or senior staff retire, then critical knowledge and their experience will leaving the company and will be a threat to company unless that knowledge can be successfully retained and transferred to other existing workers which less experienced. Due to high turnover, the retention of valuable organizational knowledge from senior and experienced workers has been recognized as an urgent need. Due to high employee turnover rate in the last two years at Bank XYZ Headquarters, will increase the possibility of critical knowledge leaves the company. In 2015, headquarters recorded the turnover rate was 24.39%, increase almost 3 times from the previous year, and most of them are experienced and senior staff. The goal of this research is to deal with knowledge loss at Bank XYZ by formulating Knowledge Retention Strategy by using the suitable Knowledge Retention framework. By using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) of Prof. Thomas L. Saaty (2001), acquired knowledge retention framework suitable for this study, which is selected from three alternative models of knowledge retention. With the selected framework of knowledge retention from Deller and Burmeister, this research finding out first what critical knowledge that posses by employee in Bank XYZ Headquarters and how to retain them.4 factors which help to formulate the strategy are critical knowledge, individual characteristic, relationship characteristic, and contextual characteristic. Based on the result of this analysis, the company have so many critical knowledge that need to be retain. This caused by lack of monitoring about knowledge retention and too formal interaction among employees that less support the retention activities.The result of this research is Bank XYZ Headquarters will implement Knowledge Retention Strategy to prevent knowledge loss in the future. The implementation run through 3 kind of activities: skill development and training, informal activities, and exit management. Based on knowledge retention framework analysis, all the retention activities will exactly as needed by Bank XYZ Headquarters employee

    Abstract - Research conducted in this thesis is an attempt to identify perception and perceived project state from professionals and practitioners which involved projects in various industrial sectors about how they see the condition of projects in Indonesia. Criteria which used were successful project which have the characteristics according to schedule, in accordance with budgeted costs, and according to user needs. This research starts with an analysis of the relevant literature, this study identified 14 factors that cause projects to fail. For labor strike factor not considered in this study because of demographic industry in this study (IT, Telecommunications, Technology, Energy, Oil & Gas, and Construction) not represent that this factor was happen frequently. Information is obtained through the survey instrument, data were collected from 81 respondents which is then analyzed and matched with solutions applied good practices, tools & technique related to project management disciplines. Amongst the highlights of the findings is that there is a gap between the skills and knowledge taught on campus, university and professional institutions with what is practiced in the workplace. This shows the need for the application of methodology project-based learning which involves a real project environment with real-world problems so that learner can understand how to apply tools & technique in practical ways.     Abstract. Purpose – Purpose of research is to help dRyshirt business in increasing its product sales and increase brand awareness "dRyshirt" on the minds of the public, especially for around town Bandung. Methodology/approach – In this research, using qualitative methods which aim to take a direct data survey, interviews and questionnaires. amount of sampling used in this research was 400 respondents in Bandung. Findings – Results of this research, there are two problems that occur on dRyshirt. First, lack of brand awareness with consumers and second declining number of buyers caused by promotional activities carried dRyshirt less attractive. It concluded that dRyshirt need to improve the way of promotion and good communication to consumers. Research Limitation – In this research has been established limitations in conducting research.     Identifying learning styles for effective learning and development in manufacturing industries using learning style questionnaire

    Abstract—A start up training provider company has been running for one year and planning to incorporate experiential learning approach to improve its product so their client (learners) will have better learning outcome. Company needs to understand how experiential learning can deliver an optimal outcome to be gained by the learners (clients). Field research hence took place among manufacture workers at Cikarang Plant as one of Company’s clientele in December 2017. Research is designated to identify learners’ current learning styles and how they can gain benefit from experiential learning program. Analysis is using Learning Styles Questionnaire (LSQ) test by Honey & Mumford.  Test is performed among 30 employees with age ranging from 18 to 53 years old having high school to undergraduates as their last education and have working experience between 0 to 35 years. Conclusion is that 60% of their learning style is Activist-pragmatist. This style preference is caused by their age background and cognitive quotient accumulated throughout their life experience. There are two experiential learning solutions offered to enable an effective improvement of their learning styles.     Abstract - Berrybenka is an Indonesian brand of online shopping store that offers and curates fashion apparel (women and men), beauty products and accessories from various brand locally and internationally, include creating their own private independent label, which become their priority business today. Its step to open offline store as omnichannel strategy seems like conflicting with other brands as their competitor, in which they are only penetrating online channel. In this research the author focuses in analysing the new customer path of Berrybenka’s omnichannel marketing strategy through The Five A’s framework and provide improvement solutions for Berrybenka to have a better customer engagement. This research is using quantitative methodology to collect the data and analyze it from gathered information based on The Five A’s framework theory in Marketing 4.0 perspective and questionnaire data result. Based on generated data, the author then finds out solution for each customer path starting from phase of ‘Awar’e, the author gives initiative plan for increasing brand awareness, improvement for brand appeal in the phase of ‘Appeal’, solutions to increase brand attractiveness in the phase of ‘Ask’, and initiative plans to increase sales conversion in the phase of ‘Act’, also initiative plans to strengthen brand advocacy between customers in the phase of ‘Advocacy’. Therefore, in order to have better customer engagement, Berrybenka should understand how to manage all touchpoints across all integrated channels through The Five A’s framework.     Abstract. EBS is Indonesian e-reader application to find and read the replica of magazines, books and newspaper in digital format. EBS is one of FACT products that was founded in 2010. FACT is an Indonesian emerging apps company that is bridging content providers with its latest mobile technologies with great UI/UX design and data-driven to build an extensive service for our clients, either individual or enterprise. EBS e-book reader is the solution to overcome issue of declining reading interest in Indonesia which the factor is coming from nation’s cultural vitality where is having lower practice of literate behavior.  By analyzing the situation from external factor which is quite high competition within e-publishing, government support to drive digital economy, and higher funding from investor to growing digital startup, as well as internal factor which has suppliers from local and foreign publishers, having assets of cloud storage, also providing various payment method strengthened five elements to meet business strategy for increasing penetration in potential market among Z generation: targeted area where most university are located, maximizing internal development, developing adaptability and customization features, build three stages of deployment: utilizing KOL, social media and acquiring new market in high school, also set lowest cost through scale of advantages.  The business strategy is certainly supported by research methodology based on quantitative analysis in which the information is collected from two sources data: primary data by interviewing with management team from executive through managerial level and questionnaire that is addressed to 47 respondents from e-book reader customers and public, also secondary data which the data is obtained from the reference book, journal and publications. Established on July 2017, Daapuandee is trying this opportunity in this industry providing Padangnese food and another Indonesian foods. This restaurant is a new restaurant, therefore Daapuandee need a proper strategy to develop the business. To help Daapuandee growing in the market, the researcher need analyze the external and internal factors.  The both of data were formed by observation and questionnaire. The researcher conduct the strategy by using TOWS matrix, Porter Generic Strategy dan Strategiy Diamond Model. The result of the business strategy is differentiation strategy such as create innovative product, marketing and promotion activities. On Porter Generic Strategy, the researcher proposed the areas to open new branch, the price, the segment, marketing and promotion using social media.     Abstract - In running a company, management is inseparable from risk exposure moreover the nature of activities in PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) that run an airport management business. To effectively manage risk the company required to implement a good Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). As part of the Risk Management implementation process, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has formulated Risk Management Guidelines (Manual) and has implemented policies and risk control measures. However, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) still needs to conduct comprehensive evaluation of  Risk Management in order to get and ideal of the company risk management maturity level. Risk Management maturity level analysis can be conducted through degree of maturity level by using Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) methods for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). These research is an explanatory research that used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The data processed in this research is primary data through survey, questionnaire, interview and secondary data through data of the existing risk management process in the company. By measuring the existing value of risk management implementation maturity level, it is expected that PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) espesialy at Sultan Sayrif Kasim II International Airport, Pekanbaru can determine whether the implementation of risk management is effective or not and then this research can generate recommendation for improvements so the implementation of risk management maturity level is in accordance with the desired target from the management.  Keywords: Risk Management Implementation, ISO 31000, Risk Management Maturity Level, Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS)
