No full textAbstract. The media often produces destructive and provocative stories, which can erode and destroy the communal life. This research, which is based on a literature study and observation of digital space phenomena, is an attempt to build a contextual theology to respond to the phenomenon of hoaxes that proliferate in digital media. Through this study, it was revealed that hoax, that appears as half-true news, could be considered as a truth if it is constanly promoted. In dealing with this phenomenon, Christ is an example to be able to discern and confront every available information, so that the truth can be uncovered.Abstrak. Media seringkali memproduksi cerita-cerita destruktif dan provokatif, yang dapat mengikis dan menghancurkan sendi kehidupan bersama. Penelitian yang didasarkan pada studi pustaka dan pengamatan fenomena ruang digital ini adalah sebagai upaya untuk membangun suatu teologi kontekstual untuk menanggapi fenomena hoaks yang menjamur di media digital. Melalui studi ini terungkap bahwa berita bohong, yang sering tampil sebagai berita setengah benar, akan menjadi narasi yang dianggap benar, jika dipromosikan secara terus-menerus. Berhadapan dengan fenomena ini, Kristus menjadi teladan untuk bisa mencermati dan mengonfrontasi setiap informasi yang ada, sehingga kebenaran bisa terungkap ke permukaan
Berkhotbah kepada Kaum Muda: Memaknai Usaha Pengkhotbah Menurut Perspektif Teologi Khotbah dari Paulus
No full textAbstract. Over the past three decades, youth ministry and homiletic experts have offered several strategies to help youth ministers in their efforts to preach effectively to young people. However, the attempt has the potential to become a human-centered attempt. This paper attempted to see how the effort to preach to young people does not become a human-centered effort. Using the literature study method, the author answers the subject matter based on Paul's theology of preaching. The results of this study indicate that youth ministers must try to convey the Gospel of Christ clearly and must fully believe in the power of God, both in terms of delivery and in terms of the faith response of young people after listening to a sermon.Abstrak. Sejak tiga dekade lalu, banyak ahli pelayanan kaum muda dan homiletika yang menawarkan beberapa strategi untuk dapat menolong pelayan kaum muda dalam usahanya berkhotbah secara efektif kepada kaum muda. Namun, usaha tersebut berpotensi menjadi usaha yang berpusat pada manusia. Tulisan ini berupaya untuk melihat bagaimana agar usaha berkhotbah kepada kaum muda tidak menjadi sebuah usaha yang berpusat pada manusia (men-centered). Dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka, penulis menjawab pokok permasalahan tersebut berdasarkan perspektif teologi khotbah Paulus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa para pelayan kaum muda harus berusaha untuk menyampaikan Injil Kristus dengan jelas (being clear) dan harus percaya penuh pada kuasa Allah, baik dalam hal penyampaian maupun dalam hal respons iman kaum muda setelah mendengarkan sebuah khotbah
Implementing Holistic Mission within The Frame of Religious Moderation
No full textThe Indonesian government issued a new concept of the religiosity called religious moderation. Religious conflicts that occur as a result of religious radicalism that arise due to economic, social, and political factors are the reason for the issuance of this discourse. Carrying out the mission holistically is one of the solutions to the problems mentioned above. This article was written with the aim of explaining how to carry out a holistic mission within the framework of religious moderation in Indonesia. Through library studies, this research examines literature related to holistic mission, religious moderation, and related themes. The finding showed that efforts to carry out a holistic mission within the framework of religious moderation in Indonesia can be carried out in a number of ways understanding General Revelation as a media of preaching the Gospel, prioritizing human values, and implementing multicultural education in Christian churches and schools

This article was written with the purpose of studying the corelation between power relation and sexual abuse in the King David and Bathsheba narrative to raise awareness of the danger posed by a power relation. By using plot analysis in the 2 Samuel 11:1-27 narrative, it can be understood that with the power he possessed, David committed an abuse of power to commit acts of sexual abuse against Bathsheba. Bathsheba, in this case who was in a position of lower power, could not refuse King David's lust. Thus, power relation should not be taken for granted, but must be understood critically.Abstrak. Artikel ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk untuk mengkaji hubungan relasi kuasa dengan kekerasan seksual dalam narasi Raja Daud dan Batsyeba sehingga dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran akan bahaya yang ditimbulkan dari suatu relasi kuasa. Dengan menggunakan analisis plot pada narasi 2 Samuel 11:1-27, dapat dipahami bahwa dengan kekuasaan yang dimiliki, Daud melakukan tindakan penyalahgunaan kekuasaan secara sadar dan terencana untuk melakukan tindakan kekerasan seksual terhadap Batsyeba. Batsyeba, dalam hal ini yang berada di posisi kekuasaan lebih rendah, tidak dapat menolak keinginan Raja Daud tersebut. Dengan demikian, relasi kuasa semestinya tidak diterima begitu saja, namun harus dipahami secara kritis
Metode Naratif dalam Konseling Pneumatologis dan Penerapannya bagi Anak Pendeta Usia Remaja
No full textAbstract. The position of pastor often brings its own psychological burden to their children. They often face excessive expectations related to their parents' position. As a result, pastor's children may experience stress or even have lower life satisfaction compared to their peers whose parents are not pastors. Some even start doubting their Christian faith and no longer call themselves Christians. This paper aimed to show how the narrative approach applied in pneumatological counselling can help pastors' kids to establish their unique position and role as pastors' kids. The method used in this study was a literature study. Through this study, it was found that the narrative approach in pneumatological counselling helps to construct a new narrative so that pastor children can understand themselves well, apart from the narrative that has been constructed by their environment.Abstrak. Jabatan sebagai pendeta kerap kali membawa beban psikologis tersendiri bagi anak-anak pendeta. Mereka seringkali menghadapi ekspektasi yang berlebihan terkait dengan jabatan orang tuanya. Akibatnya, anak pendeta bisa mengalami stres atau bahkan memiliki kepuasan hidup yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan teman-temannya yang orang tuanya bukan pendeta. Beberapa bahkan meragukan iman Kristen mereka dan tidak lagi menyebut diri mereka Kristen. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bagaimana pendekatan naratif yang diterapkan dalam konseling pneumatologis dapat membantu anak-anak pendeta untuk membangun posisi dan peran mereka yang unik sebagai anak-anak pendeta. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah studi pustaka. Melalui kajian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa pendekatan naratif dalam konseling pneumatologis membantu menyusun narasi baru sehingga anak-anak pendeta dapat memahami dirinya sendiri dengan baik, lepas dari narasi yang selama ini dikonstruksi oleh lingkungannya

No full textAbstract. This study is an attempt to build a theological view on the social activism of Pentecostals in Indonesia. Pentecostals in Indonesia are actually very familiar with social activities in the community. Otherwise, there would not be many Pentecostal Churches in various regions, which indicates the acceptance of the local community. However, such social activities are often understood separately from the understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit, or often understood to achieve the goal of proselytization. This study is conducted by re-reading the narratives of Joseph and Daniel in the Old Testament from the perspective of the Pneumatic work. The results of this study showed that the Spirit of God is the power that moves believers to work for the transformation of society.Abstrak. Kajian ini adalah sebagai upaya untuk membangun suatu pandangan teologis atas aktivisme sosial kaum Pentakostal di Indonesia. Kaum Pentakostal di Indonesia sebenarnya sudah sangat akrab dengan aktivitas sosial di tengah masyarakat. Jika tidak demikian, tidak mungkin banyak berdiri Gereja Pentakostal di berbagai daerah, yang mengindikasikan penerimaan masyarakat setempat. Namun, aktivitas sosial tersebut sering dipahami terpisah dengan pemahaman akan karya Roh Kudus, atau sering dipahami sebagai sarana mencapai tujuan proselitisasi. Kajian ini dikerjakan dengan membaca ulang narasi Yusuf dan Daniel di Perjanjian Lama dalam perspektif karya Pneumatologis. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa Roh Tuhan adalah daya yang menggerakkan orang yang beriman untuk berkarya bagi transformasi masyarakat

Preserving the historical heritage of Christianity is an important effort for the church to maintain the existence of church history which also influences the process of growth and development of the church today. This article aimed to offer efforts in preserving Christian historical heritage as an approach to church revitalization based on research on preservation Christian historical heritage at the Kalimantan Evangelical Church in the Mandomai resort for the 2019-2022 period. The results of the research showed that actions to preserve Christian history have an impact on increasing the quality and quantity of the church which include aspects of didascalia, coinonia, diakonia, marturia, and church resources.Abstrak. Pelestarian warisan sejarah kekristenan merupakan salah satu upaya penting bagi gereja untuk memelihara eksistensi sejarah gereja yang turut berpengaruh bagi proses pertumbuhan dan perkembangan gereja masa kini. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menawarkan upaya pelestarian warisan sejarah kekristenan sebagai salah satu pendekatan revitalisasi gereja berdasarkan penelitian terahdap pelestarian warisan sejarah kekristenan di Gereja Kalimantan Evangelis resort Mandomai periode tahun 2019-2022. Kedudukan Janda dalam Hukum Taurat dan Hukum Timur Dekat Kuno
No full textAbstract. In Jewish society, a widow may experience a negative social stigma that puts her in a disadvantaged position. This negative stigma certainly confirms that a widow needs protection. The purpose of this paper was to outline the position of widows in the eyes of both Torah and Ancient Near Eastern law. To that purpose, the author conducted a literature review, which includes Old Testament texts as well as extra-biblical texts related to the position of widows. This study showed that widows, in both the Torah and the laws of the Ancient Near East, are entitled to protection. The difference between the two laws is that in the Torah the protection of widows is theologically reflected as initiated and guaranteed by God.Abstrak. Dalam masyarakat Yahudi, seorang janda dapat mengalami stigma sosial negatif yang memojokkan posisinya. Stigma negatif tersebut tentunya menegaskan bahwa seorang janda membutuhkan perlindungan. Tujuan dari tulisan ini adalah untuk menguraikan kedudukan janda di mata hukum Taurat maupun hukum di Timur Dekat Kuno. Untuk itu, penulis akan melakukan kajian literatur, yang meliputi teks-teks Perjanjian Lama maupun teks-teks ekstra biblika terkait kedudukan janda. Hasil dari kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa janda, baik dalam hukum Taurat maupun hukum-hukum di Timur Dekat Kuno, wajib mendapatkan perlindungan. Yang membedakan di antara kedua hukum tersebut adalah bahwa dalam hukum Taurat perlindungan terhadap janda direfleksikan secara teologis sebagai diinisiasi dan dijamin oleh Tuhan
Apostle Paul’s Vocation as the Turning Point of Religious Education from Monocultural to Multicultural
No full textChristians in this globalization era live in multicultural society. Therefore, multicultural education requires attention. Apostle Paul's vocation is an important moment about the turning point from monocultural to multicultural ministry. God's commission for the Twelve Apostles to teach and baptize to the ends of the earth, was apparently not fully understood by the Twelve Apostles. They are still Israel-centered minded in mission. By using literature study method, this article aimed to analyze the theological meaning of Paul's vocation in relation to religious education in multicultural context. The result of this study showed that the teaching and life of Apostle Paul had given some insight to accomplish religious education in multicultural context, by implementing contextual religious education. Therefore it could be concluded that religious education must always be aware of the students' life context. Awareness of this context includes awareness of their needs and potention
Not The Nineveh, But Jonah: Exploring God’s Mercy in The Book of Jonah
No full textMany scholars argue that the book of Jonah is about God’s mercy for Nineveh. However, I argue that the focus of this book is God’s mercy for Jonah, the stubborn, disobedient, and reluctant prophet. We can find that indeed God’s mercy was for Nineveh by relenting his judgment to the repented Nineveh, but it was not the focus of God in this book. If the focus is the Nineveh, the book of Jonah could end with chapter three which states God relented his judgment on the Nineveh. This study was conducted with narrative method to the whole narrative of the book of Jonah. This study showed that from chapter one to chapter four, God dealt mercifully to Jonah who had to deal with his struggles as God’s prophet. We can see how God dealt mercifully with Jonah through this book. I conclude that a narrative reading of the entire narrative of the book of Jonah can produce a different interpretation from the existing one
