Keutamaan Kristus dalam Karya Pemulihan-Nya: Pembacaan Kolose 1:20 Melalui Apokatastasis Balthasar dan Ware

    No full text
Abstract. This article seeks to show God's work of restoration of all things in order to restore all creation to the order of creation. Using Hans Urs von Balthasar and Kallistos Ware's thoughts on apocatastasis as a lens through which I read Colossians 1:20, I argue that this restoration of all things demonstrates God's Christocentric and comprehensive redemptive work. In Christ, this comprehensive redemption brings a memory to the goodness and beauty of God's creation and has a dimension of hope for all creatures, to be restored to become new creations.

Abstract. Discourses concerning the dialectical coming of the Kingdom of God in Christian theology are debatbale, including its time and relationship to the present. This study focuses to find a connection between the dialectic of the Kingdom of God and social transformation, and its implications to the present. In reaching that goal, the Indicative-Imperative method in bibilical ethics is applied. It means that the works and the will of God become the indicative, and the God’s commands or men’s responsibilities become the the imperative. Based on this research, Christian ethics is performed not only as hope and anticipation to the coming of the Kingdom but also as respond and participaton to the Kingdom’s mission. There is a close connection between the Kingdom of God and social transformation. Therefore, the church can perform the Kingdom’s mission in the world as an agent of social transformation.

This research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of premarital counseling in anticipating stunting at GMIT Sion Kuli, Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The research method used is a qualitative method. The research result showed that the premarital counseling program has not been effective in anticipating stunting because it has not focused on anticipating stunting. Abstract. This research discusses the urgency of textual criticism in New Testament exegesis, highlighting the problem of incorrect copying, whether intentional or not, as well as dealing with theological doubts, especially regarding additional verses in several New Testament manuscripts. Using textual criticism methods, this research analyzed several controversial verses, such as Mark 16:9-20; John 5:3b-4; 7:53-8:11; 1 John 5:7b-8a; Matthew 6:13b; 17:21; 18:11. Research result showed that most of these additional verses are not found in reliable ancient manuscripts, raising doubts about their authenticity. Even though they have historical and traditional value, researchers emphasize that these additional verses are not part of God's true word and should not be considered as a guide to faith and behavior.

The Theological and Inculturative Values of Lamentation Songs In Good Friday Services

    No full text
Many Christian communities in Sumba practice a unique tradition of incorporating lamentation songs in regional languages into their Good Friday services. These poignant melodies, born out of the local Christian community, trace their roots to the ngi'o teki tradition—a practice characterized by the expressive mourning of the departed through carefully crafted and emotional words. Despite the fact that such lamentations diverge from the official Good Friday services outlined in the widely accepted Roman Liturgy of the Catholic Church, they play a significant role in the cultural and religious fabric of these communities. This qualitative research aimed to delve into the historical and cultural context of these lament songs, unveil their theological and inculturative values, and discern their specific place within the Good Friday service. The findings of this research underscored the intrinsic theological and inculturative values embedded in lament songs, emphasizing their crucial role in rendering the Good Friday liturgy more resonant and meaningful for the local population

Take My Yoke and Learn of Me: Matthew 11:28-30 and Hospitality in Theological Education in Indonesia

    No full text
This research was motivated by the situation of theological education in Indonesia, which still perpetuates traditional models of education, where learning still tends to be one-way, authoritative, and more focused on cognitive-academic development with “a rote learning approach.” This has left learners (a group of learners) alienated, marginalised, and even feeling pressured in the learning process. This condition makes it difficult to provide theological education that is hospitable and transformative in the lives of learners. Meanwhile, the Bible has shown that hospitality is an important theme in both the Old and New Testaments. God is a hospitable God and offers hospitality to his people. According to the author, hospitality also needs to be presented in theological education in Indonesia. From the theoretical framework of hospitality and theological education, the author analyses Matthew 11:28-30 to find the principles of hospitality relevant to theological education in Indonesia.  The author examines various thoughts on hospitality through a literature study. The selected text was studied using an exegetical approach and inductive interpretation. Based on the analysis, it was found that Jesus' learning environment differs from that of the Scribes. Jesus' learning environment is inclusive, liberating and collaborative. The implication is that theological education with hospitality provides a learning atmosphere that is liberating, uplifting, takes into account the uniqueness of the students, and provides a comfortable atmosphere

The Eucharistic Sending: Reconstructing The Sending Narratives in Sunday Worship

    No full text
This article explores the importance of the Sending in the Sunday Worship, which is crucial to support people's daily lives as it bridges the gap between every Sunday service where people worship. The narrative of the Sending must be appropriately formulated to ensure that people can implement it effectively. Currently, the narrative is often based on weekly changing sermon content, leading to unfinished tasks accumulating without evaluation. To address this issue, this article proposes that the Sending narrative should be based on the remembrance of The Lord's Supper, which is the main element of Sunday worship besides the sermon. By using Jesus' words “do this!” as a potential basis for sending people into everyday life, this article argues that individuals can be encouraged to fulfill their role in showing love to others

Trauma dan Penerimaan Luka: Pendampingan Pastoral atas Realitas Traumatis yang Tidak Dapat Diperdamaikan

    No full text
Abstract. Can emotional wounds heal? Pastoral theories generally have shown that it is possible to engage the complexity of emotional wounds problem. Some of it can be found in Clebsch and Jaekle’s pastoral functions and in crisis intervention methodology that presents the achievable result of responding to the counselee’s emotional wounds. However, what about the wounds that remain? Drawing from the author's accompanying research on the traumatic reality wounds that remain irreconcilable, the author offers a new way of pastoral care that responds to these wounds that remain. The posture of accepting the wounds that remain as a way of healing, would be central here. By using qualitative research methods, the author presents the ABCA crisis intervention method as a way of pastoral care that includes this posture as a way of healing. This method is relevant in that it answers the problem of the remaining wound through inviting the counselee to remember their past, reaffirming their present, and reauthoring their future as a way of healing.
