Partisipasi Sosial-Politik sebagai Praktik Hospitalitas Kaum Pentakostal

The involvement of the church in social life outside the church is something that continues to struggle from time to time; the church, on the one hand, felt compelled to be involved in all aspects of life; on the other, it felt sufficient to focus on the spiritual dimension of life. Meanwhile, participation in the social domain is often articulated with religious mission activities that wish to win souls and increase the number of church members. This article aimed to present a theological reflection framework on hospitality in a Pentecostal perspective, as a spirituality that drives the participatory philosophy of Pentecostals in the public sphere, both socially and politically. The method used is descriptive analysis, with a literature study approach. The result is that the hospitality attitude of the early church in the Acts constructs a Pentecostal reflection of the participation of Pentecostals in the public sphere.Abstrak. Keterlibatan gereja dalam kehidupan sosial di luar gereja merupakan hal yang terus mengalami pergumulan dari waktu ke waktu; gereja di satu sisi merasa harus terlibat dalam seluruh aspek kehidupan, di sisi lain merasa cukup untuk memfokuskan pada dimensi kehidupan rohani. Sementara itu, partisipasi pada domain sosial tidak jarang diartikulasikan dengan kegiatan misi gerejawi yang ingin memenangkan jiwa dan menambahkan jumlah anggota gereja. Artikel ini bertujuan menyajikan sebuah kerangka refleksi teologis tentang hospitalitas dalam perspektif Pentakostal, sebagai spirtualitas yang menggerakkan sikap partisipatif kaum Pentakostal pada ruang publik, baik secara sosial dan politik. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Hasilnya, sikap hospitalitas jemaat mula-mula pada narasi Kisah Para Rasul mengonstruksi sebuah perenungan Pentakostal mengenai partisipasi kaum Pentakostal pada ruang publik
Pemahaman Jemaat Tentang Penggunaan Salam Assalamualaikum dalam Liturgi Ibadah Gereja
Get PDFAbstract. Theologically, liturgy is a celebration in which God reveals the work of salvation through Jesus. GISKI North Minahasa applies a common liturgical form, but has a uniqueness in the greeting element, namely using assalamualaikum greeting. This study aimed to explain the understanding of the North Minahasa GISKI congregation about the use of assalamualaikum greeting in their religious meeting liturgy and to describe demographic factors that might explain the tendency of variables. This study used quantitative methods with statistical descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that demographic factors, which were associated with the variables of age, education, ecclesiastical position and age of membership, contributed significantly to respondents' understanding, while gender did not. It could be concluded that the contextualization of the liturgy got a positive response from the congregation member and hds an impact on strengthening their faith.Abstrak. Secara teologis, liturgi merupakan perayaan dimana Allah menyatakan karya keselamatan melalui Yesus. GISKI Minahasa Utara menerapkan bentuk liturgi yang tidak berbeda, namun memiliki keunikan pada unsur salamnya yaitu menggunakan salam assalamualaikum. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pemahaman jemaat GISKI Minahasa Utara tentang penggunaan salam assalamualaikum dalam liturgi ibadahnya serta mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor demografi yang sekiranya menjelaskan kecendrungan variabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik analisa deskriptif statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor demografi, yang dikaitkan dengan variabel faktor usia, pendidikan, jabatan gerejawi dan usia keanggotaan, memberikan kontribusi signifikan bagi pemahaman responden, sedangkan faktor jenis kelamin tidak berkontribusi signifikan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kontekstualisasi liturgi mendapatkan sambutan positif umat dan berdampak penguatan keimanan umat

Through this study it was concluded that the Charismatic Pentecostals see the money is not merely needed to meet the daily life needs, it’s also as means of service to God. Service to God itself is not limited only in the form of ecclesiastical ministry, but also includes every work to promote a good life in this world.Abstrak. Penelitian ini berusaha mencermati pemaknaan uang dalam prespektif Pentakosta Karismatik. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis melalui kajian literatur. Berdasarkan kajian penelitian ini kaum Pentakosta Karismatik berpandangan bahwa uang selain dibutuhkan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari, uang juga sebagai sarana pelayanan kepada Tuhan. Pelayanan kepada Tuhan itu sendiri tidak dibatasi hanya dalam bentuk pelayanan gerejawi, tetapi mencakup juga setiap karya untuk mewujudkan kehidupan yang baik di dunia ini
Model Pemuridan Berbasis Keluarga Era New Normal Pandemi Covid-19
Get PDFAbstract. New normal era, with social and physical distancing, has made Christian Javanese family difficult in fulfilling their spirituality need. The churches have tried to fill their need by online service but still had problem. Family based discipleship proposed to solve this problem. Family based discipleship implementation in Christian Javanese family was obstracted by leadership, interpretation, and subject matter problems. This research aimed to develop a family-based discipleship model for Christian Javanese family at New Normal era Covid-19 pandemic by promoting a correct, easy, and right Bible interpretation. This research is an applied research with qualitative approach and fenomenology theology. Finally, this research proposed family - storytelling - inductive discipleship model for Christian Javanese family at new normal era.Abstrak. Era New normal dengan social and physical distancing, membuat keluarga Jawa Kristen kesulitan memenuhi kebutuhan kerohaniannya. Gereja mencoba memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut dengan ibadah online namun masih bermasalah. Pemuridan berbasis keluarga diusulkan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan ini. Penerapan pemuridan berbasis keluarga pada keluarga Jawa Kristen terhalang masalah kepemimpinan, penafsiran, dan materi pemuridan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan model pemuridan berbasis keluarga bagi keluarga Jawa Kristen di era new normal pandemi Covid-19 dengan interpretasi Alkitab yang benar, mudah dan tepat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian terapan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan paradigma hermeneutik fenomenologi. Penelitian ini menemukan model pemuridan keluarga - bercerita - induktif sebagai model yang cocok bagi pemuridan keluarga Jawa Kristen di era new normal
Menghayati Peristiwa Pentakosta: Upaya Stimulasi Solidaritas Gereja
Get PDFAbstract. Pentecostal churches are known to put more emphasis on the spiritual aspect of their teaching than on the social aspect. The social activities carried out are also more widely understood as a means to win souls. This paper aimed to recollect the awareness of the Pentecostal spirit that cannot be separated from social solidarity. The method used in this study was an interpretive descriptive method on Acts 2:41-47. Through this study, it could be concluded that social solidarity is not a strategy to win souls, but is an inherent essence of a congregation filled with the Holy Spirit.Gereja-gereja aliran Pentakosta dikenal lebih banyak memberikan penekanan pada aspek rohani dalam pengajarannya dibandingkan terhadap aspek sosial. Kegiatan sosial yang dilakukan juga lebih banyak dipahami sebagai sarana untuk memenangkan jiwa. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengingatkan kesadaran akan roh Pentakosta yang tidak dapat dilepaskan dari solidaritas sosial. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah metode deskriptif interpretatif terhadap teks Kisah Para Rasul 2:41-47. Melalui kajian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa solidaritas sosial bukanlah suatu strategi untuk memenangkan jiwa, namun adalah hakikat yang sifatnya inheren dalam diri jemaat yang dipenuhi oleh Roh Kudus
Perbandingan Konsep Teodise John Calvin dan C. S. Lewis serta Relevansinya terhadap Sikap Fatalistik dalam Menghadapi Covid-19
Get PDFAbstract. The world is currently enduring an epidemic of COVID-19 which causes suffering and pain. Facing the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesian people have shown various responses. One pupular respond is theological fatalism, which believe that God has determined everything so that human efforts and actions are not necessary. In connection to this, the question arouse whether Christian theology, especially Christian theodicy, which was represented in this paper by John Calvin and C. S. Lewis, fell into fatalism? To answer this question, the writer would compare of the two theodicies by using a literature research. Through this research, it was concluded that neither John Calvin's theodicy nor C. S Lewis's had fallen into theological fatalism. Both emphasized free will and human responsibility in making choices and actions. The right attitude is to submit to the authority of God's word which commands us to act by doing good to others who are suffering and sick.Abstrak. Dunia saat ini sedang dilanda wabah penyakit COVID-19 yang menyebabkan penderitaan dan kesakitan. Berhadapan dengan pandemi COVID-19, manusia Indonesia menunjukkan berbagai respon. Salah satu yang umum adalah fatalisme teologis yakni kepercayaan bahwa Allah sudah menetapkan segala sesuatu sehingga usaha dan perbuatan manusia tidak membuat perbedaan dan dampak di dalam sejarah kehidupan. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut muncul pertanyaan apakah teologi Kristen, khususnya teodise Kristen, yang diwakili di dalam paper ini oleh John Calvin dan C. S. Lewis jatuh ke dalam fatalisme? Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut penulis akan membandingkan kedua teodise tersebut dengan menggunakan studi pustaka. Melalui penelitian tersebut disimpulkan bahwa baik teodise John Calvin maupun C. S Lewis tidak jatuh ke dalam fatalisme teologis. Kedua-duanya sama-sama menekankan kehendak bebas dan tanggung jawab manusia di dalam melakukan pilihan dan tindakan. Sikap yang tepat adalah tunduk kepada otoritas firman Tuhan yang memerintahkan kita untuk bertindak dengan berbuat baik kepada sesama yang menderita dan sakit
Memaknai Ulang Ecclesia Domestica di Masa Pandemi Covid-19
Get PDFAbstract. The pandemic covid-19 has compeled Catholic families to pray at home instead of going to the Church every Sunday, and it changed the expression of their faith. This new condition helped families to realize their role as formators of spiritual life for the family members. The purpose of this research was to look out how the social distancing effects the role of the family as the formator for faith formation of their children during pandemic covid-19. The research conducted by qualitative and quantitative approach toward fivety Catholic families. Through this research it was shown that during covid-19 pandemic family had a big chance of doing the role as the Church Family (ecclesia domestica) that emphasizing the future mission of the Church is depending on the family life. The Church Family is understood as the smallest cell of the Church as the sacrament, the visible sign of God, and becomes a place for encountering the faithful to Jesus Christ in the world.Abstrak. Pandemi covid-19 telah memaksa keluarga-keluarga Kristiani untuk beribadah di rumah dan mengubah cara menggereja mereka. Situasi itu menjadikan keluarga menyadari perannya sebagai pembina utama hidup rohani anggota keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh pembatasan sosial terhadap peran keluarga dalam pendidikan iman anak di masa pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif terhadap 50 keluarga Katolik. Melalui penelitian ini diperoleh gambaran bahwa dalam masa pandemic covid-19 ini keluarga berkesempatan menjalankan peran sebagai Gereja keluarga (ecclesia domestica) yang menekankan masa depan pewartaan Gereja adalah melalui hidup keluarga. Gereja keluarga dipahami sebagai sel terkecil yang menjadi bagian dari Gereja sebagai sakramen, tanda yang kelihatan dari Allah, dan menjadi medan pertemuan orang beriman dengan Yesus Kristus di dunia
Tinjauan Teologis terhadap Tradisi Kawin Tangkap di Pulau Sumba–Nusa Tenggara Timur
Get PDFAbstract. This paper aimed to determine the theological position of Christians towards the tradition of kawin tangkap (bride kidnapping or bridenapping) on Sumba Island. Kawin tangkap is a tradition of kidnapping woman to make her a bride. The tradition has become a social problem for the government and society, especially the Sumbanese women. Through hermeneutic approach, this research analyzes the tradition of kawin tangkap in Marapu’s perspective to determine the proper outlook of the church. The conceptual framework in the analysis was the concept of Christian marriage and the story of abducted wives in Judges 21. Through this analysis it was found that kawin tangkap is a tradition that opposes the Bible's teachings on marriage, a sign of spiritual decline, and the violence against women.Abstrak. Tulisan ini bertujuan menentukan sikap teologis orang Kristen terhadap tradisi kawin tangkap di Pulau Sumba. Kawin tangkap adalah tradisi penculikan perempuan untuk dijadikan isteri. Tradisi kawin tangkap menjadi masalah sosial yang meresahkan pemerintah dan masyarakat, khususnya kaum perempuan. Melalui pendekatan hermeneutis penelitian ini menganalisis tradisi kawin tangkap dalam perspektif Marapu untuk menentukan sikap gereja. Bingkai konseptual dalam analisis adalah konsep perkawinan dalam perspektif Kristen dan kisah penangkapan perempuan untuk dikawini dalam Hakim-hakim 21. Melaluinya ditemukan bahwa kawin tangkap adalah tradisi yang menentang ajaran Alkitab tentang perkawinan, tanda kemerosotan spiritual, dan merendahkan martabat perempuan
Magic and Christianity: An Exegesis on Magical Passages in the Acts of the Apostles
Get PDFMagic is a significant theme in The Acts of the Apostle but is undermined by scholars. The significance of this theme is obvious in the so-called five episodes or passage of magic. Thus, how does Christian understand of magic particularly in the Acts of the Apostles is also prominent. This article aimed to re-examine all five episodes of magic in The Acts of the Apostles that Christian may have a more comprehensive understanding of magic and able to conquer the reality of magic which is still very relevant in our contemporary ministry in Indonesia. The method of this article was literature study. By the study it was concluded that the magic in Acts is best understood to further its apologetical purpose, because the passages clearly demonstrate evil as the reality behind magic, thus the confrontation between God’s power and magic is inevitable for it is between God and evil
