Hiya al-Umm, Qaṣīdah Qālahā Zakir Shariff fī Rithā’ Ummihi: Dirāsah Taḥlīlīyah Adabīyah
This study aims to study the life of Zakir Shariff and his elegy poem. The method used in this study is the descriptive-analytical approach, where the researchers read the selected poem and then follow it with study and analysis. The poem chosen was Hiya al-Umm, an elegy poem for his mother. The results of this study indicate that the beginning of the poem (maṭla‘ al-qaṣīdah) invites the reader to follow his elegy (rithā’) poem for his mother; (2) good disposal (ḥusn al-takhalluṣ) of the poem, the poet proceeded directly with the topic, noting that he did not explore the introduction of his poem with depict the remaining of the camps (al-ṭalalīyah) or propaganda; (3) a good syllable (ḥusn al-maqṭa‘) in the poem, the last words upon which the poet stood was well tolerated and kept a pleasure in listening in the most eloquent expression and the most beautiful meaning; (4) the sincerity of emotion (ṣidq al-‘āṭifah), the poem was distinguished by the sincerity of emotion, the heat of feeling, and the acuity of feeling.This study aims to study the life of Zakir Shariff and his elegy poem. Tarqiyat Natā’ij Ta‘allum al-Lughah al-‘Arabīyah bi-Istikhdām Uslūb al-Thawāb wa-al-‘Iqāb
This study aims to determine the improvement of Arabic learning outcomes using rewards and punishments. The research used an action research method by Kemmis and McTaggart model and was carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were grade 7 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta, totaling 36 students including 19 male students and 17 female students. The instruments used tested learning outcomes and observation sheets. Learning outcome tests are used to measure the success of students in understanding Arabic lessons. Meanwhile, the observation sheet is used to measure the performance of teachers and students in learning. The scores that have been achieved by the students during the study are the pre-cycle score is 65,83, the exam score for cycle 1 is 66,80, and the exam score for cycle 2 is 75,69. There was an increase in the value from the pretest to the test cycle 1, namely 0,99, and the increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2 is 8,89. The number of improvement results in this study was 9,88. Pesan Perdamaian dalam Video Klip Atouna El Toufoule: Analisis Semiotik Charles Sanders Peirce
The purpose of this article is to find out the description of peace messages in the Atouna El Toufoule video clip. In the video clip of Atouna El Toufoule, several signs have meaning. The study of meaning in this article uses a qualitative research methodology by analyzing images as data which is analyzed using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotics in finding meaning through signs, objects, and interpretants. The results of this study indicate that sign is mostly motivated by social context and does not require excessive interpretation of meaning. The object takes the side of social life that occurs in Palestinian society. Interpretants also sometimes directly criticize social life, culture, and the environment around them. The video clip of Atouna El Toufoule contains a moral message and an invitation to create peace for children living in conflict areas. They need a vacation so they can feel peace and freedom in their lives
Representasi Kerinduan dalam Lagu Umm Kulthūm Qiṣṣat Ḥubb Karya Aḥmad Rāmī: Analisis Semiotik Charles Morris
The purpose of this research is to reveal the representation of a male character’s longing for his lover in the song Qiṣṣat Ḥubb, a song full of emotion. The song was sung by Umm Kulthum, a famous singer from Egypt who has a big influence in the Arab world. The song Qiṣṣat Ḥubb was composed by an Egyptian writer named Aḥamd Rāmī. In the song Qiṣṣat Ḥubb, some signs have a deeper meaning. The study of meaning in this study uses Charles Morris’s theory of semiotics, which is divided into three, namely syntactic meaning, semantic, and pragmatic meaning. This study used a descriptive-analytic method by describing the data on the object of research, then continued with the analysis. The results of this study indicate that the syntactic meaning in the song Qiṣṣat Ḥubb is the sadness of a man because he reminisces with his late lover. The semantic meaning of this song is the confusion of a man who is abandoned by his lover. Representasi Keresahan Mahmoud Darwish dalam Puisi al-Sijn: Kajian Semiotik Riffaterre
Anchored in the characteristic of a poem having a meaning beyond the sentence, this study aims to reveal the meaning of a poem entitled al-Sijn written by Mahmoud Darwish. Darwish is called to people around the world as the revolutionary poet because of his maneuvers against Israel over its occupation of Palestina. Employing descriptive analysis, Riffaterre’s Semiotic theory is used as the framework involving four basic components namely indirectness of expressions, heuristic and hermeneutic readings, matrices, and models, variants, and hypograms as parameters in collecting and analyzing the data. The findings of this study indicate that poem al-Sijn is the expression of a poet’s emotion feeling a sense of alienation from his place. It involves expression on the consumed foods, identity as a Palestinian, and his hopes to have freedom and independence. Zajal al-Asīr fī Madḥ al-Shaykh Usman Al-Bashir, Qaṣīdah Nūnīyah li-Musa Kalim Al-Qali: Dirāsah Taḥlīlīyah Adabīyah
This study aims to study the life of the poet Musa Kalim Al-Qali and his eulogy poem. The method used in this study is the descriptive-analytical approach, where the researchers read the selected poem and then follow it with study and analysis. The poem chosen was Zajal al-Asīr which contains his praise to Sheikh Usman Al-Bashir. The results of this study indicate that (1) the beginning of the poem (maṭla‘ al-qaṣīdah) invites the reader to follow what he will say about the praised Sheikh; (2) good disposal (ḥusn al-takhalluṣ) of the poem, the poet proceeded directly with the topic, noting that he did not explore his poem with a prologue or propaganda introduction; (3) a good syllable (ḥusn al-maqṭa‘) in the poem, the last words upon which the poet stood was well tolerated and kept a pleasure in listening in the most eloquent expression and the most beautiful meaning; (4) the sincerity of emotion (ṣidq al-‘āṭifah), the poem was distinguished by the sincerity of emotion, the heat of feeling, and the acuity of feeling.This study aims to study the life of the poet Musa Kalim Al-Qali and his eulogy poem. Kata Budaya sebagai Identitas Nigeria dalam Novel ‘Amāliqat al-Shimāl Karya Najīb al-Kīlānī
The word culture is a word that contains solid cultural elements of a particular group or area. This word cannot be understood directly without any knowledge or explanation. This study includes an analysis of the word culture with the material object of the historical novel ‘Amāliqat al-Shimāl by Najīb al-Kīlānī. The word culture contained in the novel was collected, then included in each category based on the division of the cultural elements of Peter Newmark. The method used is descriptive qualitative by presenting the data in the analysis. The cultural words analyzed are given a general and concise explanation accompanied by pictures. This study aims to understand the novel’s content and strengthen the word culture, which is found as the Nigerian identity, which is the background of the events in the novel. The study results found 21 cultural words that have an identical effect on Nigeria. The cultural words are detailed in several subcategories, including one animal name, one plant name and eight place names in the ecological culture category, one name for traditional clothing in the material culture category, five names of state figures in social culture, and two names of beliefs, and three names of ethnic groups in the variety of social organization cultures.The word culture is a word that contains solid cultural elements of a particular group or area. Klasifikasi Puisi Arab Jahiliyah Menurut Ibn Qutaybah dalam Kitab al-Shi'r wa-al-Shu‘arā’
This research discusses the classification of Arabic poem (shi‘r) of the pre-Islamic period (Jahilīyah) in the book of al-Shi‘r wa-al-Shu‘arā’ by Abū Muḥammad ‘Abdullāh ibn Muslim ibn Qutaybah. In this research, we review in simple terms the classification of poems based on the quality of lafaẓ and meaning, the quality of lafaẓ, the quality of meaning, and the quality of limited lafaẓ and meaning a literary work, especially in the poem (shi‘r) as described in the book of al-Shi‘r wa-al-Shu‘arā’. Through the poem, the Arabic poet of Jahilī expresses his feelings through the poem he creates. The theme raised in the poem is the reality or quotes that are very familiar with the life of the Arab community at that time. One of the most influential Arabic poets of Jahilī is Imru’ al-Qays. In his poetry, Imru’ al-Qays describes his feelings, both regarding love, greed, sadness, spree, and so on relating to the conditions of the Arab environment. Makna Perintah dalam Al-Qur’an Surah Yūsuf
This study aims to determine how much the imperative sentences (amr) is used, its meaning, and its purpose in surah Yūsuf. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that describes the existing data. The data is obtained from the verses of the Quran surah Yūsuf, which contains the commandment sentences. The results of this study indicate that in surah Yūsuf there are 32 command sentences, namely in verses 9(2), 10, 12, 21, 23, 29(2), 31, 36, 42, 43, 46, 50(2), 54, 55, 59, 62, 63, 67, 78, 81(2), 82, 87, 88, 93, 97, 99, 101, and 108. The results of the 32 data show 31 in the form of fi‘l amr and 1 in the form of isim fi‘l amr. Then, of the 32 command sentences, there are 19 which have an essential command meaning. Realitas Sosial Masyarakat Palestina dalam Film Inch'Allah: Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce
The film Inch’Allah depicts the life of the Palestinian people due to the war with Israel. The scenes in this film are filled with codes that aim to attract sympathy and empathy from other countries. The problem in this research is the use of signs used by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette in describing the life of the Palestinian people and the actions of the Israeli soldiers depicted through these signs. This study aims to uncover the forms of signs and their relationship to objects contained in these signs. The method used is a qualitative method with an objective approach. The theory used is the semiotic theory of Charles Sanders Peirce. In this study, the researcher found ten scenes describing Israeli soldiers' attitudes and actions between the two countries. The social representation depicted in the film is the poverty faced by the Palestinian people. All of their possessions had been lost along with the pieces of their house. There is no longer any freedom for the Palestinian people to do anything.The film Inch’Allah depicts the life of the Palestinian people due to the war with Israel.
