    5C’s of the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages ​​(ACTFL) is a standard in teaching foreign languages ​​in the United States, which emphasizes five important and interrelated things in teaching foreign languages; communication, culture, connections, comparisons, and communities. The 5C’s of ACTFL are used as a guide in creating a curriculum that can enable students to develop various skills, gain insights from other cultures, connect language skills acquired with other scientific fields, develop insights by comparison, and participate in a multilingual society. This study aim to answer the question of the results of the ACTFL 5C’s standard analysis in the Arabic textbooks for class 4 in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah published by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. This type of research is library research conducted with research objects or library data collection. The analysis found that the Arabic textbook complies with the ACTFL 5C’s standard. The Arabic textbook can optimize learning Arabic for elementary school; Madrasah Ibtidaiyah class 4. In detail, the percentage of the ACTFL 5C’s standard is 31% communication, 25% cultures, 22% connections, 14% comparisons, and 8% communities

    Exploring Spirituality of Sa‘dūn al-Majnūn’s Poetry: A Perspective of Ibn ‘Arabī’s Hermeneutics

    Spirituality poetry generally contains elements of beauty and aesthetics, so it tends to display linguistics and literature. Sa‘dūn’s poetry has its uniqueness with spiritual content in it. Spirituality in Sa‘dūn’s poetry describes the close relationship between man and God, which is reflected in the form of criticism of society. Therefore, this study aims to determine the form of spirituality in Sa‘dūn’s poetry. This research method uses content analysis by using Ibn ‘Arabī’s hermeneutics approach in its interpretation. The results of this study indicate two things, namely: (1) essence of death in the first poem contains three important pieces of advice, namely life in this world, life in the afterlife, and prepare for death; and (2) essence of ma‘rifah contained in the second Sa‘dūn’s poetry shows Sa‘dūn’s closeness to God as evidenced by two things, namely zuhud and world prevents towards Allah. This study is important in expanding the study of Ibn ‘Arabi’s hermeneutics which is usually only used to interpret the inner meaning in the Qur’ān and ḥadīth. Hermeneutics can also be used in other literary works such as poetry, novels, short stories, etc

    Pengaruh Romantisisme terhadap Tren Psikologis Maḥmūd ‘Abbās al-‘Aqqād dalam Kritik Sastra Arab Modern

    This study aims to reveal the influence of the Western romanticism movement on the psychological style developed by Maḥmūd ‘Abbās al-‘Aqqād in assessing and understanding Arabic literary works in the modern era. This research is library research using the analytical-descriptive method. The result of this study shows that the psychological trend of al-‘Aqqād’s criticism is strongly influenced by the romanticism movement. Romanticism is a revolutionary movement in the artistic, literary, and intellectual fields that emerged in Europe as a form of resistance to the conditions around the 18th century. This movement emphasizes the individuality aspect to highlight the liberation of feelings and emotions. This aspect of individuality then became the basis of al-‘Aqqād’s criticism in assessing literary works which, according to him, were full of individual personalities. Thus, the psychological trend in Arabic literary criticism developed by al-‘Aqqād cannot be separated from the immense influence of the romanticism movement that emerged in the West. The results of this study increasingly show the significance of the West's role in the development of Arabic literary criticism in the modern era

    The Arabic Discourse Markers in the Short Story Arnūb wa-al-Kasl by Aḥmad Samīr

    Literature is an expression of art through language media. In general, literary works in Arabic are divided into three, namely prose, poetry, and drama. One of the prose literary works is short story. Discourse markers, which can be words or sentences, are important in generating coherent parts of literature discourse. In this study, the researchers will examine the discourse markers in the short story entitled “Arnūb wa-al-Kasl” written by Aḥmad Samīr (2008). The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative in which the researchers as the main instrument aimed to describe the Arabic discourse markers used in the short story. The results of this study showed that the following are the discourse markers used in the story: wāw (‘aṭaf and isti’nāf), innā wa-akhawātuhā, kamā, fā’ [‘aṭaf] and ba‘da. For the wāw, it was found 8 words, for innā wa-akhawātuhā it was found 5 words, and for ba‘da it was found in 2 words

    Defining the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) is the first stage of implementing learning outcome assessment as part of curriculum development. Students are said to succeed in a subject if they achieve the minimum completeness criteria specified in the syllabus. This research aims to study the procedures and the method used to defining the minimum completeness criteria for Arabic lessons at Al-Fattah Elementary School, Batu, Malang. This study used the descriptive-qualitative method. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that defining the minimum completeness criteria for Arabic lessons in Al-Fattah Elementary School follows two procedures. First, the Subject Teachers’ Consultation Council (MGMP) defines the minimum completeness criteria at the beginning of the school year, and for each basic competency (KD), its standard is 67, and Arabic language lesson have a standard of 71. Secondly, the minimum completeness criteria that have been defined are published for all Arabic teachers. The process of defining minimum completeness criteria in this school uses the value range method to assign the level of complexity, level of students’ absorption capacity, and efficiency level of auxiliary resources, and then calculates it using the appropriate formula to get the exact score

    This study aims to determine the problem of evaluating Arabic learning. This research used a qualitative descriptive and subjects were Arabic language teachers and grade IX students at SMPIT Insan Rabbani, Bekasi Barat. The data collection technique used observation, interview, and documentation techniques, while the data validation technique used triangulation techniques, namely triangulation of data sources and methods. data analysis. The results showed that: (1) the planning of the evaluation of Arabic learning at SMPIT Insan Rabbani is quite good; (2) the implementation of the evaluation of Arabic learning is carried out using the google form media; (3) the problem is that it is difficult to know the students’ Arabic skills and the character or behavior of the students are difficult to monitor. The location of the house is not covered by the internet network, including minimalist student internet quotas, or an unstable internet network. Efforts made by teachers in dealing with these problems by temporarily asking students to move locations that are accessible to the internet network

    This study aims to compile a syllabus of the European Profiling Grid (EPG) based teaching competency development course to improve the teaching competence of students to become Arabic teachers with character and competitiveness. The method used in this study is a research and development approach by Richey and Klein’s model with the steps of planning, production, and evaluation. This study identified that some of the EPG aspects had been contained in several other subjects, such as Planning of Arabic Learning, Methodology of Arabic Learning, and Learning Media Arabic. However, there are still several aspects of the EPG that have not yet become a concern in several courses, such as intercultural competence. Thus, several aspects of the EPG such as intercultural competence, professional behavior, administration need to be integrated as a syllabus model for the EPG-based Arabic teaching competence development. The EPG-based teaching competency development syllabus needs to be accompanied by appropriate teaching materials and research instruments.     Intertekstualitas dalam Puisi Arab: Puisi al-Ḥallāj dan Fārūq Juwaydah

    This study aims to reveal the intertextual found between al-Ḥallāj’s poem (qaṣīdah) and Faruq Juwaidah’s wa Tāba al-Qalb poem. In this case, it refers to the basic assumption of intertext studies, namely that the texts or works that appear today are inseparable from the influence and role of the works that previously existed long before. Furthermore, in intertextual studies, old works that are used as a reference in making new works are called hypograms, while new works written by new authors that appear later are called transformational works. The method in this research is using descriptive analysis method. While the approach used is intertextual. Based on the results of the intertextual analysis conducted by researcher on qaṣīdah al-Ḥallāj and wa-Tāba al-Qalb poem, the researchers found (1) wa-Tāba al-Qalb poem is a form of transformation of qaṣīdah al-Ḥallāj, (2) wa-Tāba al-Qalb poem is the response from qaṣīdah al-Ḥallāj.     Makna Denotasi dan Konotasi dalam Film Animasi Amīrat al-Rūm Karya Hadi Mohammadian: Semiotika Roland Barthes

    This article aims to describe the meaning of denotation and connotation in the animated film Amīrat al-Rūm by Hadi Mohammadian using the semiotic theory of Roland Barthes. Barthes explained that in the meaning of the word, there are two parts, denotation, namely the original meaning contained in the dictionary, and connotation, where this meaning involves human emotions and thoughts. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, and the data source used is the animated film Amīrat al-Rūm by Hadi Mohammadian. The data collection technique uses watching, listening, and translating. Meanwhile, the data analysis is linguistic messages, unencoded iconic messages, and encoded iconic messages.     Since the 20th century AD, Arabic has become a global language used at the United Nations in speaking, making official speeches, issuing documents, and in simultaneous translation into official languages, in addition to being an official language in the Organization of African Unity and other international organizations of the United Nations Africa remained related to Arab trade and civilization centuries before Islam, and when Islam came, the first Arab migration to the African continent was the migration to Abyssinia, and thus the Muslim Arabs found their first home after their homeland in Africa.  Islam entered Kanem Borno in the 8th century, and in Kano in the 14th century. As for the western region; the country of Yoruba, reached it in the first half of the 14th century AD according to one saying and the 15th according to another, and the 16th according to a third. As for the eastern region, whose population is mostly Igbo, it was reached by displaced merchants from the two regions: the northern and western. The masters of the Arabic language in Nigeria have made effective efforts to advance the Arabic language, as these efforts herald the splendid independence of the Arabic language in Nigerian society
