    Analisis Kesalahan Tata Bahasa dan Diksi para Debator dalam Debat Ilmiah Bahasa Arab Muktamar ITHLA IX

    The object of this research is the Arabic diction of debaters in the scholarly arabic debate competition organized by the Indonesian Arabic Student Association (ITHLA) at the IX 2021 congress. This study aims to explain some of the Arabic diction mistakes made by debaters in the Arabic scientific debate competition in Indonesia. In addition, this study also provides an alternative Arabic diction that should be used when conveying ideas in scholarly debates. This research method is a type of descriptive qualitative research. The source of research data is transcription obtained from two stages, namely observation and documentation. This study shows that there are many grammatical and diction errors used by the debaters. In general, the errors can be classified as follows: Errors in unsuitable use of ḥarf al-jar, errors in the use of vocabulary, country name, adjectives, word construction, singular and plural, error words, junctions, incorrect use of conjunctions, etc. After understanding these grammatical and diction errors, it is hoped that they can improve students' Arabic skills at the upcoming Arabic scientific debate

    Storytelling Poetry in the Poems of ‘Alī ibn al-Jahm and the Ode of the Creation of Adam

    Story poetry as a branch of the big tree of poetry and literature in Abbasid era, is one of the important tools for discovering historical facts. This study showed that ‘Alī ibn al-Jahm can be considered one of the pioneers of this literary art in the Abbasid era. He paved the way for poets to depict history in this format and create novel works in this era and immortalize those historical events. By analyzing each element of the story in ‘Alī ibn al-Jahm’s chapter “Creation of Adam”, this study has proved that this work is a story poem and also tries to determine the poet’s goals from the order of this work for the audience. The results of this study show that the aim of ‘Alī ibn al-Jahm in this poem is to teach the teachings of Islam to the audience and people of his time in addition to retelling the events and history of the prophets. Considering that ‘Alī ibn al-Jahm was a court poet and praiser of the caliphs of Banī ‘Abbās, probably the aim of the poet is also to teach a lesson from the caliphs and also the behavior of the prophets and the ancients

    This study aims to describe the various forms and functions of the illocutionary speech acts that contained in the Kāmil Kīlānī’s short story Lu’lu’at al-Ṣabāḥ.  This research uses pragmatic approaches in descriptive qualitative studies.  Using reading and taking notes as data collection techniques, and data reduction, data presentation techniques and making conclusion as data analysis techniques. The results of this study showed that there are five forms of speech act contained in conversations between the short story’s characters of Lu’lu’at al-Ṣabāḥ by Kāmil Kīlānī, namely assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declaration. The details are that there are 10 assertive speeches, 10 directive speeches, 2 commissive speeches, 1 expressive speech, and 1 declarative speech. And there are 11 functions of illocutionary speech act contained in the short story Lu’lu’at al-Ṣabāḥ by Kāmil Kīlānī: there are 2 speech functions of explaining, 3 speech functions of stating, 2 speech functions of telling, 3 speech functions of affirming, 4 speech function of advising, 4 speech function of requesting, 2 speech function of warning, 2 speech function of offering and threating, 2 speech function of sadness and setting

    Arabic teaching materials must be integrated with various sciences to be more adaptive in different scientific families. One of them in the field of forensics. Therefore, this study aims to see the field of forensics as one of the Arabic language teaching materials. As a result, Arabic learners can recognize and adapt to Arabic terms or vocabulary related to investigations such as medical forensics, social forensics, and criminal forensics. This research is classified as qualitative descriptive research with a content analysis method. The Arabic website Al Jazeera serves as the primary data source in this study. According to the findings of this study, various Arabic forensic vocabularies on the Al Jazeera website can be used as teaching materials in developing Arabic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. In addition, teaching materials containing vocabulary related to forensics can also be implemented in knowledge assessment (KI-3) and skills assessment (KI-4)

    Critical thinking is one of the 21st century skills that students must master.     Literature is an art mediated by language, while literary works are a product of imagination with the medium of language. A poem is a literary work that has a dense language of figures and symbols. Therefore, research is needed to analyse the meaning of a poem. One of the analyses of poem research is using stylistic analysis. The poem that is the object of this study is the poem Aḥinnu ilá Khubzi Ummī by Mahmoud Darwish. This poem describes the poet's longing for his mother, which is full of figurative language. This study aims to describe the various styles of language in the poem Aḥinnu ilá Khubzi Ummī by Mahmoud Darwish. The method used is a content analysis by describing the form of language style in Mahmoud Darwish’s poem. Arab and European literature is influenced by each other, as it appears in the imaginary drawings of Europeans inspired by the story of the Thousand and One Nights.     Deviation from Tribal Traditions: The Other Face of Poetry in Pre-Islamic Arabia

    Poetry in pre-Islamic Arabia is a social document (dīwān) and the most authoritative source possessed by the Arab people. This fact does not imply that pre-Islamic poetry is monotonous with a single pattern of tendency. On the contrary, pre-Islamic poetry is a collection of various tendencies that are divided into different aspects and diversities, both in expression (al-ta‘bīr) and content (al-muḥtawá). Therefore, this study aims to describe the facts about pre-Islamic poetry that not only revolves around tribal fanaticism (‘aṣabīyah qabalīyah) but also exhibit deviations from tribal (qabīlah) traditions. The research method employed in this study essentially utilizes historical methods, including the heuristic, criticism, and interpretation steps in analyzing the acquired data sources. The results of this study indicate that the other side of the content of pre-Islamic poetry which deviates is reflected in two tendencies: first, deviations that arise from individual subjective experiences (al-tajribah al-dhātīyah), such as the poems of Imru’ al-Qays and Ṭarafah ibn al-‘Abd; second, deviations that arise from political and ideological experiences (al-tajribah al-siyāsīyah al-īdiyūlūjīyah), as reflected in the poems of the brigand (Ṣa‘ālīk) group

    Arabic-Indonesian Dictionary: Comparison of Digital Dictionary and Printed Dictionary

    The Arabic-Indonesian Digital Dictionary (KDAI, lit Kamus Digital Arab Indonesia) available in the play store and the Printed Arabic-Indonesian Dictionary (KCAI, lit Kamus Cetak Arab Indonesia) by Muhammad Yunus are two dictionaries that provide two languages ​​with different publications. Digital and printed dictionaries and the comparison of the two dictionaries based on the ideal dictionary even though the number of enthusiasts is other. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the method of literature. The digital dictionary is the most in-demand one, with 1,000,000 downloads. In contrast, the print dictionary by Muhammad Yunus is inversely proportional to the fact that few users know this printed dictionary. The results of this study are from the type of KDAI and KCAI; there are similarities in nuqṭat al-iṭlāq and ‘adad al-lughāt. In terms of meaning, KDAI includes a language dictionary, and KCAI consists of a translation dictionary. The lemma part of the second dictionary has a different number of lemmas, and also, in the explanation of each entry, there are differences. KDAI uses a collocation system, while KCAI uses a definition system. Based on compiling KDAI using software entry, KCAI uses arrangements based on pronunciation

    This research stems from environmental problems at Arrisalah Islamic International College (Pondok Modern Arrisalah Program International), Gundik, Slahung, Ponorogo, East Java, in creating a language environment that is thought to have something to do with proficiency in Arabic language skills. This study aims to describe the relationship between the language environment and the language skills possessed by students. The type of research used in this study is quantitative with correlational methods. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and tests on 59 people. The results of this study indicate that the relationship between them is powerful and is shown by the correlation coefficient calculation that the significance value of the correlation t count (0.810) is greater than the indication value of the correlation t table (0.250). These results indicate that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) proposed is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, which means a significant relationship exists between the two variables
