Istraživanje zahvaća iskustva praktičara BDSM-a u Hrvatskoj, u pogledu njihove interakcije s relevantnim osobama izvan svoje zajednice. Koristeći Goffmanove teorije o upravljanju dojmom i stigmi, istraživanjem su dobiveni uvidi kako praktičari upravljaju svojim identitetima u konzervativnom, hrvatskom društvu. Podaci iz intervjua otkrivaju da pozitivna podrška partnera, prijatelja i online zajednica jača samopouzdanje i pripadnost, dok negativne reakcije vode do tajnovitosti i sumnje u sebe. Nalazi naglašavaju dualnost života praktičara, balansirajući između prihvaćanja unutar subkulture i društvene osude. Zaključno, ovo istraživanje doprinosi razumijevanju društvenih izazova s kojima se susreću praktičari BDSM-a i naglašava važnost inkluzivnijeg društvenog okruženja. The research explores the experiences of BDSM practitioners in Croatia, when it comes to interactions with relevant others outside of their community. Using Goffman's theories on impression management and stigma, the study examines how practitioners navigate their identities in a conservative society. Data from interviews reveal that positive support from partners, friends, and online communities boosts confidence and belonging, while negative reactions lead to secrecy and self-doubt. The findings highlight the duality of practitioners' lives, balancing acceptance within the subculture with societal judgment. In conclusion, this research contributes to understanding the social challenges faced by BDSM practitioners and emphasizes the importance of a more inclusive social environment

In this thesis, we decided to devote ourselves to realia and their translation issues. We relied primarily on the work of S. Vlahov and S. Florin Neperevodimoe v perevode in order to define, classify, and explain possible translation strategies and variables that the translator must take into account. We have also listed and explained other cultural elements that can be found in the original text, as well as the implied interrelationship and influence between language and culture. In addition, we touched on important concepts related to the topic of realia, such as the concept of untranslatability and the definition of a translation unit. Finally, this work also contains a practical part in which Marianne Leder's article “Quelques considérations théoriques sur les limites de la traduction du culturel”, which deals with the relevant topic of cultural translation, was translated from French into Croatian

Email security in contemporary digital society represents a complex and vital aspect of communication that requires deep analysis and protection strategies. Email, as a fundamental means of communication, faces numerous challenges and security threats. Key protocols like SMTP facilitate message transmission but simultaneously open doors to sophisticated attacks such as phishing, malware, and spam, jeopardizing data integrity and confidentiality. User education on security procedures and technologies used in email plays a critical role in threat prevention and response. Understanding complex authentication mechanisms, cryptographic techniques, and data protection mechanisms is crucial for establishing a resilient framework in the digital environment. Real-life examples of attacks, like highly sophisticated phishing campaigns targeting specific organizations or institutions, underscore the need for continuous education, prevention, and security awareness. Ultimately, email security demands a holistic approach that combines technical, organizational, and human resources to ensure protection against a wide spectrum of attacks and threats in the digital environmen

The topic of the thesis is Poster art as an incentive for student’s critical thinking, and it is composed of theoretical and practical part. Encouraging and developing critical thinking in children is one of the most important tasks both parents and school institutions where children spend a good part of their time at the beginning of their lives, therefore the educational period is considered to be the basis for overall development and lifelong learning. Well developed critical thinking creates young people who are less passive, more tolerant and empathetic towards the content they are exposed to. At the same time with the acquired knowledge it allows them to read and understand the text and imagines they observe, but still keeping in mind they should not believe everything they see. Critical thinking gives power to children to make right and good decisions in the later years of their lives, those decisions that will have positive outcomes as opposed to negative ones. It creates people who know how to fight for their rights and opinions while respecting the views and opinions of other people. As critical thinking is becoming an essential skill, it is up to educational systems and teachers to find ways to successfully develop it. One of often overlooked ways is trough fine arts. Fine arts, which also includes poster art , are not just about creating beautiful things but a process in which observation, interpretation, decision-making and problem-solving takes place, all of which are key elements of critical thinking. Based on theoretical part the research was conduced with students of the first four grades of Elementary school in the school year 2023/2024. After the research, it was concluded that poster art is one of the ways in which it is possible to encourage critical thinking in students

Pesticides are substances intended for controlling pests in agriculture such as various microorganisms, insects, weeds, mites, slugs, and others. They are defined as agents used for plant protection, general use agents such as agents for controlling vermin, agents for communal hygiene, agents for protecting agricultural products in storage or for controlling rodents in agricultural facilities, and all agents for plant protection in organic production, natural enemies of pests, and pheromones. In a narrower sense, they are defined as plant protection products that are distinguished by purpose and method of application. The most common classification of pesticides is according to the type of organisms they act on, namely: insecticides, acaricides, nematicides, molluscicides, rodenticides, larvicides, fungicides, herbicides, and subtypes physiotropes and phytohormones. All these agents can be labeled as: highly toxic, toxic or harmful, corrosive, irritant, allergenic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reproductively toxic. Hazardous chemicals for health may also be labeled as flammable, oxidizing, and explosive, although pesticides rarely have such properties. During the use of pesticides, appropriate protective clothing and footwear should be used. Proper preparation and handling of foods treated with pesticides can help reduce potential harm to human health. In our country, as well as in other European Union member states, there is a regulatory body that oversees food safety, prescribes standards, and controls products available on the market. Standards usually include maximum allowable concentrations of pesticides, information required on the label, and production procedures to be followed. Nurses/technicians can be actively involved in various aspects of human protection from this substances, including education, population health monitoring, collaboration with other professionals, and providing support in promoting safer work and environmental practices

Family with an Adolescent – Parents' Perspective

Adolescenti prolaze kroz nekoliko faza puberteta, odnosno adolescencije, a svaka sa sobom nosi različite vrste promjena - one fizičke, hormonalne, motoričke, spolne, emocionalne i društvene. S druge strane, često dolazi i do promjena u kontekstu uloge roditelja. It is a well-known fact that the period of adolescence brings about a great number of changes, not only for adolescents, but also their parents. Adolescents have to go through several stages of puberty, i. e., adolescence, and each of them comes with different changes that occur to adolescents; physical, motor, hormonal and sexual changes, emotional and social changes. All of these can affect adolescents' confidence, concept of self, and even their health and the amount of stress they endure on a daily basis. Adolescents' peers have a greater role than during the period of childhood, as their influence grows stronger. On the other hand, the role of parents does not have the same significance as during childhood. The goal of this paper was to examine parents’ views and experience on raising adolescents with regard to adaptation to the peculiarities that occur during this period. The results have shown that there is no significant difference in difficulty of raising a child or raising an adolescent; there are only differences regarding the child’s or adolescent’s needs that need to be met. Some changes that occur during the period of adolescence can make certain situations more difficult, in the context of raising an adolescent and parent-adolescent relationships, but the results of this paper have not implicated that raising an adolescent is much more difficult than raising a child. Every child, or every adolescent, is an individual person, and should be shaped and guided as such in order for them to grow into their own personalities as adult human beings

Rastom populacije i različitih grana gospodarstva te industrije raste i količina otpada. Ljudskim djelovanjem i neadekvatnim zbrinjavanjem antropogeni otpad uzrokujeonečišćenje morskih i obalnih ekosustava. Analizom uzoraka i obradompodatakapotvrđuje se prisutnost plastičnog otpada u pijesku plaže ŽdrijacWith growth of the population and various branches of the economy and industry, theamount of waste also increases. Human activity and inadequate disposal of anthropogenic waste causes pollution of marine and coastal ecosystems. Due to mass production and wide application, plastic constitutes the majority of (marine) wasteand represents a global problem of modern times. In order to determine the presenceand characterization of plastic particles in the coastal area, the sediment of the sandybeach Ždrijac in Nin was sampled. Sampling, separation and categorization of microand mesoplastics was carried out according to the instructions of the DeFishGear protocol. Each sample is classified into the appropriate category, its colour andtransparency, size/length and weight are determined. Fragments are undoubtedlythemost represented category of microplastics found in the sediment of the Ždrijac beach, while cigarette butts, i.e. artificial polymer materials, are the most abundant mesoplastic waste. Also, the numerical share of clear-white-cream color significantlyexceeds the number of other observed colors of the found fraction. Sample analysis and data processing confirm the presence of plastic waste in the sand o

The final thesis interprets a selected genre-diverse oeuvre of Croatian children's literature that focuses on Zagreb and its surroundings as a native literary space, realized in the standard language and to a lesser extent in the dialect. In the introductory part of the paper, the spatial, historical and geographical contextualization of Zagreb and significant localities that are thematized in children's literature is presented, and the concept of nativeness in children's literature is explained. The literary-theoretical interpretation includes local picture books, legends and traditions about the origin of Zagreb, local stories about Zagreb, a selection from children's local poetry and novels that focus on Zagreb. Emphasis is placed on the interpretation of the native space, which is crucial in the identification of literary characters and the conceptual potential of the work, putting in the foreground the need to preserve the native cultural and natural heritage, tradition, history, culture and speech with the aim of preserving them among children's readers
