Investing in the language and identity of Erasmus students in Turin
This thesis is based on the concept of investing in the Italian language and identity of Erasmus students in Turin. The aim of this research is to determine investment of the mentioned students in the Italian language and to interpret how and which sociological aspects affect the learning and use of a second language. The mayor part of the research is based on audio recordings of semi-structured interviews with five Erasmus students, while the rest was conducted of the written google form questionnaires. The findings of the study indicated the factors influencing the investment of Erasmus students in Italy and the power relations between native and non-native speakers, when there is potential for asymmetries of power to shape how interaction occurs. The answers of the students has showed that all the interviewed students have positive attitudes towards the Italian language as well as their willingness to communicate with native italian speakers, regardless of their language level. Although they did not face discrimination of any kind, the respondents indicated that sometimes they feel the insecurity and fear of making mistakes when talking to native speakers who have the power to evaluate their linguistic performance and draw inferences from it. Furthermore, the students agree that the languages they speak can play an important role in expressing their cultural and linguistic identity and that learning two or more languages has helped them understand the cultural complexity of the country they are staying in. The research has also showed that investing in the second language means engagement and exposure to that language through content and interaction with the society that surrounds them
Young Islanders on higher education: the example of Sali on Dugi Otok
Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako mladi u Salima na Dugom otoku glavne probleme vide u nedostatku prijevoza u obliku brodskih i autobusnih linija, nedostatku zdravstvene skrbi i učestalim viđanjem istih ljudi zimi. Slobodno vrijeme najviše provode u druženju s prijateljima i igranju sportova. Island life is characterized by a specific way of life and unique places and surroundings. The aim of this research was to identify the reasons young islanders from Sali have for enrolling in university or not and to see if those reasons are connected with specific island life. The method used in this research was the method of semi-structured interviews. Considering the aim of the work, the key terms encompassing the research are “regional structure of feeling” by Donelly and Gamsu (2019) and the types of “capital” by Bourdieu (1986). The findings of this research show that young people from Sali on Dugi Otok see the beauty of nature, strongly connected communities, peacefulness and the safety of life as the main positive aspects of island life. On the other hand, it is also needed to highlight the negative aspects of island life that have a limiting effect on the island population. The results of the research show that young people from Sali on Dugi Otok see the main issues in the lack of transportation in the form of catamaran and autobus lines, lack of healthcare and constant seeing of the same people during the winter. They spend most of their free time hanging out with their friends and playing sports. Regarding the focus of the research, higher education, the encouragement from the parents and seeing “bums” on the island whose life situations young people connect with the lack of higher education showed to be the main push factors for enrolling in universities. On the other hand, learning to work from an early age and discouraging elementary school were distinguished as the reasons for not enrolling in universities. Those reasons point to the fact that island life indeed has a certain effect on the educational decisions made by young people in Sali
Application of Methods and Forms of Work with Students with Special Educational Needs in the Teaching of Geography in Elementary School
No, za darovite učenike tek nekolicina Ispitanika provodi obogaćenje sadržaja. The main goal of the thesis is to identify the methods and forms of working with students with special educational needs in the teaching of Geography in elementary school, that is, to define the basic organizational, personnel and material assumptions of inclusion and cooperation with external stakeholders that determine the success and possibilities of implementing inclusion, focusing on subject Geography. Therefore, the conducted research that included geography teachers employed in primary schools showed that positive teacher attitudes are associated with the concept of inclusion and that teachers are familiar with the topic and meet students with special educational needs. Related to the organizational assumptions of inclusion, all Respondents create individualized educational programs for the subject of Geography. However, for gifted students, only a few respondents implement content enrichment. Material prerequisites and equipment of schools and classrooms for the successful implementation of inclusion in the teaching of geography are fully satisfied by the majority of respondents. Examination of the personnel assumptions of inclusion for the subject Geography reveals a lack of teacher education at the initial level related to the education of students with special educational needs, which possibly represents an obstacle to the realization of inclusion in all its potentials and an incentive for further work and striving for the highest possible quality of education for the future teachers. The school's cooperation with external stakeholders, for the improvement and realization of inclusive education, reveals the lack of connection between primary schools and higher education institutions and the local community, but also reveals the positive attitude and desire of geography teachers for further training in order to be proactive in achieving inclusive education in the best possible way as education is one of the most important paradigms toda
The representation of the lifelong education and learning modality of preschool teachers in kindergartens in the Zagreb County
Preschool teachers as profesionally trained persons for working with children of early age and preschoolers encounter multiple challenges and requests on a daily basis, and take on many different roles in the period of their teaching. Latest findings concerning early education and the contemporary perception of a child and their childhood are in need of a continuous development of the existing, as well as the acquisition of the new competences. The acquirement of these competences starts with the initial teacher education, which is only the first step in the process of an educators's professional development, and that continues with their vocational training. Lifelong education and learning are a legal obligation of every educator. Therefore, the goal of this master's thesis is to determine the forms of lifelong learnining of educators that are represented in the Zagreb County kindergartens. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a research part. The former entails the teaching profession, the related professional competences, and the professional development of educators throughout the process of lifelong education and learning, which incorporates forms
of vocational training in the Republic of Croatia. The latter describes the research conducted using an online survey questionnare aimed at the preschool teachers in kindergartens in the Zagreb County. 122 subjects took part in the survey questionnare. The goal of this part of the thesis was to determine the differences in the representation of individual modalities of lifelong education and learning concerning kindergartens located in the urban area and those located in the suburbs, and also to discover which forms of the vocational training are represented among the educators. The research shows which factors influence the choice of a particular form of vocational training, and the subjects' answers to the open-ended questions indicate their need for vocational training, but also give information about what form of vocational training they consider most efficient, most important, and lastly most profesionally stimulating

Assumptions of successful educational activities in the family
Numerous authors have presented their definition of a family, but the term represents something different for each of us. We can agree that its influence on a child's upbringing is undeniable and unique. The family has an individual approach that enables it to directly shape the child in a social, intellectual, physical, emotional and cognitive sense. Therefore, it is necessary to observe the family as a system and the structural changes that have occurred within it over the years. Over time, the family as an institution went through numerous critical periods, and despite forecasts of its disintegration, it survived. Adequate family atmosphere was undoubtedly helpful, as well as good family relations, without which its survival would not have been possible. In order for relationships within the family to remain permanently good, it is important to constantly work on yourself, your knowledge and skills, both parenting and life. It is desirable that parents constantly acquire new and expand already existing pedagogical knowledge in order to be able to adapt them to the child's current stage of development and adapt their educational style, which will contribute to successful educational activities in the family. Parental maturity is also an important prerequisite for successful family upbringing. Young adulthood is considered an ideal and desirable period for parenting, and it is characterized by already formed personalities who are ready to take on the responsibility of raising a child. The maturity of the parents is linked to the favorable economic conditions that the family should provide for the child. A family with a stable economic status is able to provide the child with all the necessary material conditions for his normal and smooth growth and development. Therefore, the family as such can promote educational activities through democratic relations where everyone has the right to their opinion, expression and where differences are accepted without fear of rejectio
Feminism in the Salta Trilogy directed by Lucrecia Martel: The Swamp, The Holy Girl and The Headless Woman
Kroz detaljnu analizu filmova i likova, objašnjavamo kako Martel obeshrabruje muški pogled prikazujući muškarce kao impotentne i nesposobne riješiti traume izazvane problematičnom ženskom prisutnošću. Lucrecia Martel is one of the greatest female film directors in Latin America, best known for her three feature films: The Swamp, The Holy Girl and The Headless Woman. This thesis proposes that these three films represent a trilogy that captures the experience of growing up in the remote province of Salta and portrays life in the province from a woman's point of view. The trilogy follows the story of three women who live in Salta, during the transition to democracy. Each woman represents a different stage of development in relation to patriarchal values and each woman experiences significant changes in her life as a result of the transition. In the trilogy, Martel addresses the issue of the conflict between female desire and patriarchy, but also subverts patriarchal norms to create films that focus on the female character. This thesis uses the premises of feminist film critics to explore their applicability to Martel's films. Through a detailed analysis of films and characters, the thesis explains how Martel discourages the male gaze by portraying men as impotent and unable to resolve the trauma caused by the problematic presence of women. Since the plot includes female characters of different sexualities, races and positions in society, special emphasis is placed on lesbian visibility and indigenous representation in the trilog
The influence of fear on motivation in the teaching of German as a foreign language
In the field of glottodidactics, communication has emerged as the main and fundamental goal of foreign language teaching. Furthermore, research has shown not only that numerous emotional factors have an influence on the quality of learning and satisfaction, but also that motivation and fear should be considered as two of the most important among them. As part of this master’s thesis, research was conducted among first and third grade students of two high schools in Zadar, focusing precisely on fear and motivation during the learning of German as a foreign language. The primary goal, among other goals, was to investigate how fear and motivation manifested in these classes and to explore the influence of fear on students’ motivation. The results of the research showed that fear does in fact have a negative influence on motivation
Guy de Maupassant - In the sun
This thesis examines the work and life of the French travel writer Guy de Maupassant, especially the travel book Au soleil from 1884. The plot of this travelogue is based on Maupassant's trip to Africa. Particularly, in 1881, he spends two months in Algeria, and based on his experiences there, he writes articles for the newspaper Gaulois in which he describes (un)friendliness with colonization, the diversity of the country, customs, religion and other determinants. Based on this, this graduate thesis opens up questions such as otherness, clearly expressed in the "We" versus "Them" relationships, then the symbolism of the sun in the travelogue on the example of different views of the same in other cultures. In addition, the sociocultural portrait was analyzed according to the chapters of the travel book Au soleil: Alger, La Province d'Oran, Bou-Amama, La Province d'Alger, Le Zar'ez, La Kabylie-Bougie and Constantine
Issues and translation of realia in the short story “Old World Landowners” by N. V. Gogol
