Translation project: Bilyy Popil by Illarion Pavliuk
No full textThis project is dedicated to translating the noir detective novel Bilyy Popil by Illarion
Pavliuk and solving the problems of rendering culture-bound expressions.Special attention was
drawn to the translation strategies and techniques , which helps to convey the stylistic nuances of
the Ukrainian cultural references to the target audience. The paper is structurally divided into
two main parts.
Chapter 1 is the translation of a fragment per se, namely the four chapters of the book.
The main objective was to provide the appropriate translation by regarding cultural and lexical
differences between Ukrainian and English languages.
Chapter 2 provides an analysis and justification of the translation techniques applied due
to the difference between the languages and the significant contrast of cultural context and
historical dissimilaritie

No full textThe bachelor's project is devoted to translation and analysis of astronomical terminology,
with a particular focus on cosmonyms and astronyms, as they appear in the Exoplanets: Hidden
Worlds and the Search for Extraterrestrial Life, a work by Donald Goldsmith. The reasons and
circumstances for the emergence of the above elements and their common use, which in most
cases is inherent in scientific texts in the field of astronomy, are examined. In particular, a
thorough investigation into the conditions of development and the peculiarities of the science of
astronomy is conducted, elucidating its contribution to the development of exoworlds by the
renowned astronomical popularizer Donald Goldsmith. The issue of idiostyle, its etymology and
characteristics, as well as its use by the author through the prism of cosmonyms and astronyms,
are analyzed. Main translation techniques for Exoplanets: Hidden Worlds and the Search for
Extraterrestrial Life are summarized. They include established equivalent, amplification and
borrowing. The overview of lexico-semantic groups of astronomical terms and translation
techniques employed is presented, accompanied by statistical data

C. Messerli Pragmatics in Translation.
The project deals with identifying pragmatic aspects of the text and specialized terminology. The
following is an overview of these aspects and the means used to achieve an adequate translation.
The translational project consists of two chapters.
First chapter presents own translation of the previously mentioned work from English into
Ukrainian. The main task was to render the information of the original text while preserving its
communicative function, pragmatic meaning, and overall effect.
Second chapter is the analysis, explanation and description of translation strategies and techniques,
applied to translate first chapter and render defined terms in target language.
The translation project will be useful for professionals in linguistics or translation and interpretation
and interested in exploring pragmatic aspects when rendering foreign information

No full textThe translation project deals with the translation of the treatise called Elements of Military Art
& Science by Henry Halleck and the analysis of the applied translation techniques, established by
L. Molina and A. Hurtado Albir. In the treatise valuable insights into 19th–century military
operations, illustrated through examples from the Napoleonic Wars and other historical conflicts,
have been provided. Scholars such as N. Hasyuk, L. Malimon, S. Ostapenko, O. Push, K. Scherban,
H. Udovichenko studied translation of military terminology, and such military researchers as
S. Bondarchuk, S. Frolov and Y. Lukiyanchuk have explored military terminology, providing own
classifications. All military terms have been divided into five categories, four of which were based

No full textСвітова історія переконливо свідчить, що наслідки збройних конфліктів не обмежуються лише політичними або безпековими викликами — вони глибоко проникають у структуру економіки, суспільних відносин, правових інститутів та гуманітарного простору. У цьому контексті ключове значення має питання післявоєнного відновлення, яке потребує не лише фінансових ресурсів, а й системної правової основи, здатної забезпечити довгострокову стабільність, справедливість і стійкий розвиток.
Актуальність теми обумовлена безпрецедентними масштабами руйнувань, яких зазнала Україна внаслідок повномасштабної збройної агресії Російської Федерації. Економічне відновлення України є надзвичайно складним та багатогранним процесом, що потребує не лише внутрішніх зусиль, а й широкої міжнародної підтримки. Втрата виробничого потенціалу, деградація інфраструктури, вимушене переміщення мільйонів громадян, порушення ланцюгів постачання — усе це формує складний ландшафт післявоєнного відновлення, в якому особливу роль відіграють міжнародні правові механізми. У цьому контексті міжнародне право відіграє ключову роль, встановлюючи правові рамки для співпраці між державами, міжнародними організаціями та приватним сектором у процесі реконструкції. Міжнародне право, зокрема міжнародне гуманітарне право, міжнародне публічне право, право міжнародної відповідальності, міжнародне інвестиційне право та право прав людини, формує нормативну матрицю, у якій здійснюється координація допомоги, визначаються принципи її надання, відповідальність за шкоду, відновлення юрисдикції держави та гарантування прав постраждалого населення.
Зокрема, принципи суверенної рівності держав, невтручання у внутрішні справи та співробітництва є фундаментальними для побудови ефективних механізмів взаємодії. Крім того, міжнародно-правові інструменти, такі як двосторонні та багатосторонні угоди, меморандуми про взаєморозуміння та резолюції міжнародних організацій, створюють правові рамки для залучення іноземних інвестицій та надання фінансової допомоги
