Yields and field management data of two adjacent field trials with different inputs of organic materials at the Thünen Institute of Organic Farming in North Germany
No full textThe dataset contains yields and field management data of two adjacent randomised block trials from 2019 to 2021 at fixed plot locations at the research station of the Thünen-Institute of Organic Farming in North Germany. Different techniques to enrich soil organic matter where applied in field beans, oats and silage maize (trial CF1) or in spring wheat, oats and silage maize (trial CF4). Both field trials followed spring wheat. In trial CF 1 undersown clover grass and harvest residues were incorporated or not. In trial CF4 different organic materials where applied to the soil before cultivation and seeding in spring.

The Effects of Perceptions of Economic Sustainability and Barriers on Organic Farming Implementation
Get PDFThis study proposes an analysis of the impact of farmers′ demographic characteristics
and their perceptions of economic sustainability and barriers on organic farming
implementation in Turkey’s Thrace region. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were
collected from 400 farmers through surveys and analyzed using SPSS v27 The findings
revealed that age, education level, land ownership, and organic farming training were
significant predictors of adoption. Perceptions of economic sustainability positively influenced
adoption, while perceptions of barriers had a negative effect. The qualitative findings
identified certification costs, insufficient credit opportunities, and difficulties in accessing
organic inputs as the most common challenges faced by farmers. The most requested forms
of support included product purchase guarantees, financial aid during certification, and
fertilizer–pesticide subsidies. This study provides a foundation for developing policies and
programs to promote organic farming in Turkey, contributing to the country’s sustainable
agriculture goals

Get PDFEn Belgique, le cultivar (cv) Jonagold reste la variété la plus importante cultivée commercialement. Ce choix se justifie par son rendement élevé et ses bonnes propriétés de stockage au froid. Cependant, il est assez sensible à la tavelure et à l’oïdium, ce qui le rend moins adapté à
l’agriculture biologique. À l’avenir, l’utilisation de certains traitements à base de cuivre sera plus réglementée, voire interdite. Il est donc urgent d’évaluer et de sélectionner d’autres variétés plus robustes et mieux adaptées aux systèmes de culture à faibles intrants (Warlop et al., 2010). Dans cette optique, le CRA-W a démarré dès 1975 un vaste projet de recherche portant sur la sauvegarde, l’évaluation et la valorisation des ressources génétiques locales des arbres fruitiers, dans le but d’identifier des variétés plus robustes, moins sensibles aux maladies et ravageurs les plus courants, et donc mieux adaptées aux systèmes d’agriculture biologique à très faible niveau d’intrants (par ex. prairies de vergers, agroforesterie,...) ou à être utilisées en tant que parents, comme sources de résistances aux maladies polygéniques (Lateur et Populer,
1994). Dans le cadre d’un projet européen transfrontalier entre le CRRG, en France, et le CRA-W, en Belgique, deux parcelles expérimentales préprofessionnelles (PEP) ont été mises en place en 2007 sur chacun des sites des deux partenaires (Lateur et al., 2009). Les cv les plus prometteurs sont proposés à « NovaFruits » – une association de sélection participative de 31 arboriculteurs biologiques transfrontaliers, afin de sélectionner des variétés « élites ». Les paramètres de qualité des fruits et le potentiel de conservation en milieu frigorifique sont également étudiés. L’un des cv sélectionnés par le CRA-W, « Ducasse PBR », répond actuellement à la plupart des exigences attendues. Les producteurs biologiques plantent ce cultivar à plus grande échelle. Les campagnes promotionnelles font la promotion du cv via différents canaux de marketing
