The prevailing subject matter we focus on in our article is the latest prosaic book of Pavel Brycz (1968) – the collection of three short stories Nomádská víra (2023). Introductory part summarizes Brycz’s numerous works published so far and comprising especially children’s books the author focused on in recent years. While his books for children received a number of positive reviews, Brycz’s prose for adults seems to be currently in decline. However, the latest collection of three (slightly fantastic) short poems or novels proves that Brycz still is a great storyteller. His poetic gift is unique as well as his ability to express his opinion on current social problems in an original way

The article deals with the topical issue of practical pre-service teachers training in the field of spoken language. It presents the outcomes of the research based on qualitative data analysis gained via questionnaire survey among the students of Czech at the Faculty of Education, University of West Bohemia. The research confirms the development of students’ communicative competence after completing the course oriented to speaking and reflects the effect and evaluation of component course activities as well as necessity and usefulness of this course to future Czech language teachers

The modern school garden as an educational space
No full textŠkolní zahrady tvoří již po staletí významný prvek ve výchově a vzdělávání dětí. Z historických dokumentů je patrné, že v průběhu historie byly hledány a doporučovány možnosti využití školních zahrad ve výchově a vzdělávání dětí. Dnešní moderní mateřské školy věnují školním zahradám a jejich vybavení značnou pozornost. Školní zahrady současných mateřských škol vytvářejí přirozené a inspirativní prostředí pro děti předškolního věku, které jim poskytuje celou řadu herních a vzdělávacích prvků sloužících nejen k hrám, ale také k jejich komplexnímu rozvoji. Předkládaný text mapuje nejčastější herní a vzdělávací prvky nacházející se na školních zahradách současných mateřských škol. Dále se zaměřujeme na využití školních zahrad mateřských škol v předškolním vzdělávání. Pro tento účel byl vytvořen krátký dotazník. Za účelem výzkumného šetření bylo vybráno celkem 40 náhodně zvolených mateřských škol z Moravskoslezského, Olomouckého, Zlínského kraje a Hlavního města Prahy. Výběr jednotlivých mateřských škol byl zcela náhodný. Z výsledků šetření vyplynulo, že na školních zahradách současných mateřských škol se stále častěji kromě klasických herních prvků objevují zahradní edukační prvky zaměřené na environmentální výchovu a ochranu přírody. Školní zahrady současných mateřských škol tak vytvářejí pro děti předškolního věku inspirující a podnětné edukační prostředí. School gardens have been an important element in the education of children for centuries. Historical documents show that throughout history the use of school gardens in the education of children has been sought and recommended. Today\u27s modern kindergartens pay considerable attention to school gardens and their facilities. The school gardens of today\u27s kindergartens create a natural and inspiring environment for pre-school children, providing them with a range of play and educational elements not only for play but also for their holistic development. The present text maps the most common play and educational elements found in the school gardens of contemporary kindergartens. Furthermore, we focus on the use of kindergarten school gardens in pre-school education. A short questionnaire was developed for this purpose. A total of 40 randomly selected kindergartens from the Moravian-Silesian, Olomouc, Zlín regions and the capital city of Prague were selected for the research investigation. The selection of individual kindergartens was completely random. The results of the survey showed that in the school gardens of current kindergartens, in addition to classical play elements, garden educational elements focused on environmental education and nature protection are increasingly appearing. The school gardens of today\u27s kindergartens thus create an inspiring and stimulating educational environment for pre-school children.
