    No full text
International audienceThis article looks at how Russian and Soviet art and education specialists have approached the complex issue of defining realism in children’s drawing. The aim is to present the various ideas expressed from the end of Imperial Russia to the beginning of the Soviet era, and to situate them in their national and European artistic and educational context. We thus distinguish four periods: the years 1901-1921, which saw the promotion of the impressionist child figure; the 1920s, during which realism was considered in relation to the child’s stages of development; the “great turning point”, corresponding to the politicization of the approach to children’s drawing; and, finally, the mid-1930s, the time of the promotion of the realistic child figure, concomitant with the emergence of socialist realism.

Wind energy in Argentine Patagonia : an oil dependent energy ‘transition’ ?

    No full text
International audienceMy thesis project questions the concept of “energy transition” through the study of wind power and its relationship with the oil sector , in the Province of Chubut, in Argentine Patagonia. This cohabitation of oil extraction and renewable energy reveals the hybrid transition characterizing the region and raises questions about the apparent lack of conflict and the relationship between wind power development and oil dependence in the region. Indeed, this absence of known conflict contrasts with the numerous tensions studied around Latin American windfarms . From a political science view, I aim to study the windfarms' political integration and the potential transformations they produce on the political order, with new collaborations or tensions

International audienceIn this reading of the sonnet “Come ne l'ocean, s'oscura e 'nfesta” (Rime 979) by Torquato Tasso, the author attempts to interpret the unusual gesture of addressing a poem to a cat and to evaluate the relevance of the category of “comic” that is often used to characterise the tone and intentions of this text.

On the Democratic Role of Fact-Checking: A Reflective Essay

    No full text
International audienceIn this reflective chapter, we would like to question the democratic role of fact-checking. The field of study related to disinformation and misinformation has grown quantitatively at an incredible pace, but it relies on a fuzzy ontology and a conflict narrative (Hwang, 2020). The aim of our reflection here is to understand the entanglement between fact-checking, power and institutions. We first go back to the origins of the notion of fact-checking, observe how it has transformed since, and identify the aspects of the question which have been poorly studied. We then reflect on truth-based solutionism and the various factors of distrust in news sources by arguing that private or public interventions may have the power to harm democracy and pluralistic news views. Eventually, we suggest a critical stance on the topic, which can help expose the normative values and assumptions usually silenced in the institutional approach adopted
