Internationally Recognised Maritime Zones and Maritime Spatial Planning
Get PDFMaritime Spatial Planning is a fairly new process that offers a useful and valuable context for the sustainable development of the sea. The sea has already been an object of zone delimitation and differentiation of rights over different marine zones and for varying maritime activities. The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) is one of the most integrated international conventions and is the main delimitation framework of national maritime borders and zones exercising jurisdiction, sovereignty or sovereign rights. Territorial waters, Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), continental shelf, deep sea, international seabed are the institutional outcome where the provisions of UNCLOS identify activities and scaled rights for coastal and other states. The Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Protocol is considered as the way to implement the ecosystem-based approach and consider land-sea interactions. It has a detailed definition of the coastal zone, as the land-sea continuum where most activities take place.In Europe there are already set Maritime Spatial Plans. This paper is a selective approach in highlighting key perspectives of spatial planning zones’ delimitation of three countries (United Kingdom/England, France, Greece) that have chosen an integrated approach of MSP, have international maritime presence and marine areas facing pressures due to the multiplicity and the density of existing and new maritime activities exercised

Covid-19 and patients with psychosis: What are the views of mental health professionals on the changes and problems created?
No full textΤο παρόν άρθρο πραγματεύεται τις απόψεις των επαγγελματιών ψυχικής υγείας για τις επιπτώσεις της πανδημίας του Covid-19 στις ζωές των ασθενών με ψύχωση. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, διερευνώνται οι αλλαγές και τα προβλήματα των ασθενών αυτών και των οικογενειών τους, η υπάρχουσα κοινωνική πολιτική για τα άτομα αυτά, ενώ παρουσιάζονται και προτάσεις βελτίωσης για το μέλλον. Η έρευνα ήταν ποιοτική και ακολουθήθηκε η τεχνική των ημιδομημένων συνεντεύξεων. Το δείγμα της μελέτης αποτέλεσαν 10 επαγγελματίες ψυχικής υγείας. Η επιλογή του δείγματος πραγματοποιήθηκε με δειγματοληψία ευκολίας. Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι η πανδημία του Covid-19 επηρέασε τη ζωή και την καθημερινότητα των ασθενών με ψύχωση. Υπήρξαν υποτροπές στην ασθένειά τους και επιδεινώθηκαν τα συμπτώματά τους. Παράλληλα βίωσαν πολλή μοναξιά και αλλαγές στον τρόπο που παρακολουθούσαν τη θεραπεία τους. Οι οικογένειες τους επιβαρύνθηκαν σε οικονομικό, υλικό, κοινωνικό και ψυχολογικό επίπεδο.The aim of this article is to investigate the opinions of mental health professionals, regarding both the changes and the problems created in the lives of patients with psychosis and their families, during the Covid-19 pandemic. In more detail, the changes and problems of patients with psychosis and their families, the existing social policy for these patients and their families and the proposals for the future were studied. Qualitative research was conducted using semi-structured interviews. Our study included ten mental health practitioners. Easy sampling was used in the sample selection. The ELMEPA Department of Social Work has approved the project. The findings revealed that the Covid-19 epidemic had an impact on the daily lives of people with psychosis. Their condition relapsed, and their symptoms worsened. At the same time, they felt a lot of loneliness and had to adjust the way they approached their treatment. Their families suffered financially, materially, socially and psychologically. Although there were procedures to deal with Covid 19, the needs produced by patients with psychosis and their families were not satisfied
Η αξιοποίηση των ψηφιακών εργαλείων στη θεατρική αγωγή για τα άτομα με αναπηρίες: Μία βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση
Get PDFΗ αξιοποίηση των αναδυόμενων τεχνολογιών στο θέατρο αποτελεί μια δυναμική και εξελισσόμενη προσέγγιση στη διδασκαλία και τη μάθηση. Αυτή η ενσωμάτωση αξιοποιεί την εκφραστική δύναμη του θεάτρου και τις μετασχηματιστικές δυνατότητες των ψηφιακών μέσων για τη δημιουργία καινοτόμων και ελκυστικών εκπαιδευτικών εμπειριών. Ωστόσο, οι μαθητές/τριες με αναπηρίες συχνά αντιμετωπίζουν εμπόδια στην πλήρη συμμετοχή τους σε θεατροπαιδαγωγικές δραστηριότητες λόγω προκλήσεων και άλλων θεσμικών-δομικών, κοινωνικών φραγμών και προκαταλήψεων. Ο σκοπός της παρούσας βιβλιογραφικής ανασκόπησης ήταν να αναδείξει χρήσιμες πληροφορίες σχετικά με τα αντιληπτά οφέλη, τις προκλήσεις και τις στρατηγικές εφαρμογής που σχετίζονται με τη χρήση ψηφιακών διαδραστικών μέσων στη θεατρική αγωγή για μαθητές/τριες με αναπηρίες. Επιπλέον παρουσιάζει τον πιθανό αντίκτυπο τέτοιων προσεγγίσεων στην ψυχοκοινωνική ανάπτυξη των μαθητών/τριών με αναπηρίες. Συνεπώς, η αξιοποίηση της τεχνολογίας εμπεριέχει νέες δυνατότητες και προκλήσεις. Από τη μία πλευρά, εμπλουτίζει τη μαθησιακή εμπειρία, καθιστώντας την πιο καθηλωτική και ελκυστική. Από την άλλη πλευρά όμως, χρειάζεται πιο προσεκτική εξέταση για να διασφαλιστεί ότι η τεχνολογία δεν επισκιάζει τους βασικούς μαθησιακούς στόχους και ότι παραμένει συμπεριληπτική και προσβάσιμη για όλους/ες τους/τις μαθητές/τριες.The use of emerging technologies in theatre is a dynamic and evolving approach to teaching and learning. This integration harnesses the expressive power of theatre and the transformative potential of digital media to create innovative and engaging educational experiences. However, students with disabilities often face barriers to full participation in theatre education activities due to challenges and other institutional-structural, social barriers, and biases. The purpose of this literature review was to highlight useful information on the perceived benefits, challenges, and implementation strategies related to the use of digital interactive media in theatre education for students with disabilities. Furthermore, it presents the potential impact of such approaches on the psychosocial development of students with disabilities. Therefore, the use of technology holds new possibilities and challenges. On the one hand, it enriches the learning experience, making it more immersive and engaging. On the other hand, however, more careful consideration is needed to ensure that technology does not overshadow key learning objectives and that it remains inclusive and accessible for all learners
Feministic Approach of Saint Poetess of Varkari Sampradaya: : An Appraisal
Get PDFFeminism seeks not to divide genders but to empower women to progress alongside men, challenging social inequalities and asserting women’s autonomy, identity, and equal rights across all spheres of life. Its core aim is to transform gender-biased societal mindsets and patriarchal structures, promoting an egalitarian society. In Maharashtra, the varkari sect embodies values of humanism, liberty, and gender equality. Amid periods of moral decline, the teachings of varkari saints offered ethical direction. Notably, female saint-poetesses of the varkari tradition, from the 13th century, used devotional literature as a tool to resist social injustice and advocate for women’s dignity. Their spiritual and literary contributions provided a progressive voice in a deeply patriarchal society and continue to inspire today. This paper evaluates the role of these saint-poetesses in furthering women's emancipation, highlighting how their legacy aligns with feminist ideals and remains vital in ongoing struggles for gender equality

No full textΣτο παρόν άρθρο διερευνώνται οι στάσεις των νηπιαγωγών και των γονέων για τη μεταξύ τους συνεργασία, τα εμπόδια που δημιουργούνται μέσα από τις πραγματικές» συνθήκες της μεταξύ τους επικοινωνίας καθώς και οι ανάγκες τους όπως μπορούν να χαρτογραφηθούν από τις προτάσεις και των δύο πλευρών, για τη βελτίωση της συνεργασίας τους. Βασικός στόχος είναι να προταθούν λύσεις για τη βελτίωση της επικοινωνίας τους οι οποίες προκύπτουν μέσα από την πολυπλοκότητα των πραγματικών συνθηκών της σχολικής ζωής στις προσχολικές μονάδες και λαμβάνουν υπόψη την εκπαιδευτική πραγματικότητα, τις διαφορετικές συνθήκες που προκύπτουν κάθε φορά, αλλά και την αλληλεπίδραση παραγόντων που σχετίζονται με το σχολείο, την οικογένεια και τη μεταξύ τους σχέση. Για να ανταποκριθεί σε αυτά τα δεδομένα, ο μεθοδολογικός και θεωρητικός σχεδιασμός της παρούσας μελέτης, βασίστηκε σε θεωρητικά μοντέλα που ενδείκνυνται για τη μελέτη της πολυπλοκότητας των παραγόντων που συνδέονται με τη συνεργασία της οικογένειας με το σχολείο όπως το «οικοσυστημικό μοντέλο» που αναπτύχθηκε από τον Bronfenbrenner (1979) και το μοντέλο των «επικαλυπτόμενων σφαιρών επιρροής» της Epstein (1996). Με βάση τον θεωρητικό προβληματισμό σχεδιάσθηκε, εφαρμόστηκε και αξιολογήθηκε μία έρευνα επισκόπησης η οποία διενεργήθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια της σχολικής περιόδου 2022-2023. Τα βασικά εργαλεία συλλογής δεδομένων ήταν ερωτηματολόγια με ανοικτού και κλειστού τύπου ερωτήσεις καθώς και συνεντεύξεις τόσο σε γονείς όσο και σε εκπαιδευτικούς. Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 83 νηπιαγωγοί και 112 γονείς από προσχολικές μονάδες της Περιφέρειας της Κρήτης ενώ οι συμμετέχοντες επιλέχτηκαν βάσει δειγματοληψίας κατά συστάδες, ύστερα από τη χορήγηση άδειας από τη Διεύθυνση Πρωτοβάθμια Εκπαίδευσης Περιφέρειας Κρήτης και της Επιτροπής Ηθικής, Δεοντολογίας και Ερευνάς του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης. Στο παρόν άρθρο παρουσιάζεται ένα μικρό μέρος των αποτελεσμάτων όπως προέκυψαν από στατιστική ανάλυση κλειστών κυρίως ερωτήσεων των ερωτηματολόγιων γονέων και εκπαιδευτικών και προτείνονται κάποιες θεματικές για επιμορφωτικά σεμινάρια βάσει των αποτελεσμάτων. This article explores the attitudes of kindergarten teachers and parents regarding cooperation between them, the barriers created by the real conditions of communication between them, as well the need to improve cooperation arising from the proposals of either side. The main aim is to propose solutions to improve communication in the complexity of the real conditions of school life in pre-school units and take into account the educational reality, the different conditions that arise, but also the interaction of related factors such as school, family and the relationship between them. To meet these goals, the methodological and theoretical design of the present study was based on theoretical models suitable for studying the complexity of factors associated with family-school collaboration, such as the "ecosystem model" developed by Bronfenbrenner (1979) and Epstein's (1996) model of 'overlapping spheres’. Based on the research questions, an overview survey was designed, implemented and evaluated during the 2022-2023 school year. The main data collection tools were questionnaires with open and closed questions, as well as semi-structured interviews with both parents and teachers. In this research 83 kindergarten teachers and 112 parents from preschool units in the region of Crete took part, while the participants were selected based on cluster sampling, after permission was granted by the Directorate of Primary Education of Crete and by the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Crete. The main findings of this study showed that parents and teachers noted that community agencies need to support cooperation between the family and school and policies need to be provided for dealing with practical issues such as the proposal of activities and home study help from teachers. Parents develop more positive attitudes about teachers than teachers develop about teachers. This is probably due to the fact that parents come into contact with far fewer teachers during their child's schooling compared to teachers. Finally, it was found that teachers are concerned about informing parents about the development and education of preschool children, understanding the role of teachers and recognizing the positive results that can arise from their collaboration with kindergarten teachers

The present paper sheds light on Pavlos Matesis’ novel Panta Kala in an attempt to examine the influence of the aristophanic comedy on Matesis’ work. More pre- cisely, we focus on issues such as the women’s dominance in the novel, the paro- dy of tragedy and religion, the language, and especially the puns, the author’s self-referencial presence. Our analysis argues that Matesis’ engagement with the translations of Aristophanes, for almost twenty years, was of decisive im- portance for writing Panta Kala
