The article describes thirteen folk (unscientific) etymologies of eleven place names included in Romuald Fryderowicz’s 2013 book Podania i legendy pomorskie zebrane w latach 1914–1922 [Pomeranian legends collected in the years 1914–1922]. A folk etymology is defined as ‘scientifically incorrect explanation of the origins of a word based on the similarity of its form to other words or other casual associations’.The analysed pseudo‑etymologies concern the following place names: Borkowo, Górzno, Osie, Przechowo, Rudki, Tleń, Tuchola, Warzno, Wysin, Zawory and Zblewo; the book  devotes two pseudo-etymologies to Tuchola and Wysin each. Some of these pseudo etymologies come from a field exploration, but as much as seven of them occur to be pseudo-scientific. The author uses this term for unprofessional (contrary to onomastic methodology) explanations of the structure and meaning of a word using the research results of various scientific disciplines, especially history. The article describes thirteen folk (unscientific) etymologies of eleven place names included in Romuald Fryderowicz’s 2013 book Podania i legendy pomorskie zebrane w latach 1914–1922 [Pomeranian legends collected in the years 1914–1922]. The image of the road and wandering is a recurring theme in the poems collected in the volume Po obu stronach słowa [On both sides of the word] by Olena Duć-Fajfer. Road is a symbolic and ambiguous component of space experienced by the Lemko people, which is depicted by the use of the noun droga [road] and its synonyms ścieżka [path] and labirynt [maze] as well as adverbs blisko [near] and daleko [far], and pronouns tam [there]. The author uses a number of verbal forms (verbs and participles). As regards the cultural experience of space, one may say that Olena Duć-Fajfer considers Lemkivshchyna to be the centre of the world, a sacred place. For her, each Lemko is on its periphery, in the profane, and spends his or her life trying to reach the centre. The Lemkos can be compared to the pilgrims of the Romantic era, as they searched for their nineteenth-century homeland while in exile; they missed their homeland in terms of both geography (space) and spirituality (culture and symbolism). The image of the road and wandering is a recurring theme in the poems collected in the volume Po obu stronach słowa [On both sides of the word] by Olena Duć-Fajfer. The paper focuses on two types of the 17th century public discourse – of exclusion and tolerance. The research is based on the analysis of the works of Szymon Starowolski (Braterskie napomnienie, Prawdziwe objaśnienie Braterskiego napomnienia) and Samuel Przypkowski (Braterska deklaracyja) which constitute a polemical chain or a series of works combined on the basis of discussion replies. The purpose of the sketch is to characterize the subjects of the discourse, describe the communication strategies used and reconstruct presented attitudes and values. The subject of the discourse of exclusion assumes the approach of a hegemon attempting to discredit the object of the discourse and lead to its isolation. It invokes to insinuation and emotional arguments. The subject of the discourse of tolerance represents an irenic attitude and presents a society based on amicable coexistence, the will of cooperation, respect for law and freedom of conscience. The paper focuses on two types of the 17th century public discourse – of exclusion and tolerance. The article is a continuation of the research on linguistic variance in the first Polish edition of Księgi o gospodarstwie by Piotr Krescentyn (Krakow 1549, Helena Unglerowa). The inflectional forms were analyzed: the dative, instrumental and locative of plural nouns. The investigated issues included: textual differentiation, scope and degree of normalization of the particular alterations. The results of the analysis were compared with the results of research on other texts from the first half of the 16th century. The conclusions are: a) the books certify the initial but advanced stage of the demorphologization process of gender in plural nouns; b) the text distribution of most variants is even, the discontinuous textual distribution is characterized by only three inflectional forms: koniem and ludziom in the dative case, -och in the instrumental of the plural form of masculines; c) the state certified in the books is in most categories convergent with the state certified in other texts, the exception is the form of the instrumental and locus of masculine and neuter nouns; d) in the analyzed area, Księgi show little convergence with the language of Glaber’s texts (preferring the forms: ludziem in the dative case, -ami in the instrumental case, occasional end-case -och in the locative of masculines). The article is a continuation of the research on linguistic variance in the first Polish edition of Księgi o gospodarstwie by Piotr Krescentyn (Krakow 1549, Helena Unglerowa). The purpose of this article is to show the role of the university in the transfer of knowledge and to prepare future teachers to transfer this knowledge at school. This is an extremely important problem due to contemporary cultural and social changes causing very dynamic language changes. The methods used to describe the language are changing as well. The language education model is already anachronistic in Polish schools because it doesn’t respond to this evolutionm which is why universities must prepare future teachers to react to changes on their own.The purpose of this article is to show the role of the university in the transfer of knowledge and to prepare future teachers to transfer this knowledge at school. The most important issues related to the Church Slavonic translation of the liturgical pericopes of the Good News of the Resurrection of Christ presented in this article indicate the appearance of a great number of variants unknown in the Slavic region. An attempt to translate them is to some extent an analysis of their theological content conducted by the translators and authors of particular manuscripts. In the seventeen verses of the Prologue of the Gospel of St. John, the development of the theological thought is apparent. This pericope begins with the creation of the world and concludes on a strong ecclesiological note. The most significant variants of the Church Slavonic translation of the liturgical pericopes for the Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord indicate and emphasise their essential theological content. The most important issues related to the Church Slavonic translation of the liturgical pericopes of the Good News of the Resurrection of Christ presented in this article indicate the appearance of a great number of variants unknown in the Slavic region. The healing texts of heterogeneous origin are preserved in the manuscripts of the Belarusian Tatars in large numbers. According to written sources, they have been widely used in the past in the Tatar environment. Recent field studies show that the healing texts have not yet completely disappeared from use. These texts have deep roots in the ancient Turkic culture, and also reflect various influences, mainly from the side of Islam, as well as from the Christian-Slavic environment.
