There are three purposes of pathographies: they allow their authors to make their lives more coherent, i.e. continuous and meaningful, they help them understand what their bodies experienced during illness, and they make them discover how to stimulate the body to deal with its effects. There is a specific type of pathographies written by stroke survivors. The effects of a stroke include paresis of the body and aphasia which never fully disappear. Patients talk of the loss of previous identity or a transformation caused by the illness.Source literature uses the term pathography to define a text about suffering and illness written from a patient’s perspective. The article’s focus is on the creation of the notion of divorce in online legal discourse. The study material comes from an Internet forum discussing legal issues. The analysis shows that divorce is generally presented as a conscious decision of an individual; one that requires preparation and often time and effort as well. Moreover, it is a crucial point in life at which the divorcees solve their current problems. The term is also associated with new opportunities and is often a chance to talk about human experience. The article distincts the most frequently-used words accompanying divorce: child, alimony, money and flat. It is worth noting that the studied material uses only one meaning of the word divorce, introduced by the Napoleonic Code and understood as ‚a dissolution of legally-valid marriage’.The article’s focus is on the creation of the notion of divorce in online legal discourse. The article attempts to analyse different types of original glosses and editorial footnotes in the Gospels of the Brest Bible, one of ten Polish translations of the Bible, included in the electronic publication of Szesnastowieczne przekłady Ewangelii (Eng. Sixteenth-Century Translations of the Gospels). Among the original glosses one can distinguish: a) concordant glosses, referring to the parallel fragments of the Bible, b) philologicalexegetic glosses signed with capital letters of the alphabet. The greater part of original glosses of this kind includes annotations that are didactic and doctrinal comments. The marginal glosses signed with capital letters are also short lexical glosses which contain synonyms or definitions of words, including those referring to biblical reality. The contemporary editorial footnotes are different types of footnotes, including: substantive, graphic, inflectional, derivational and phonetic. Short descriptions of each type of footnotes focus on selected and more detailed aspects, e.g. the study of derivational footnotes provides information on the techniques of creating possessive adjectives often used in the text. The article draws upon new research techniques – a computer program Ewangelie (Gospels) and Internet search engine of annotations (https://ewangelie. uw.edu.pl/przypisy) by Michał Rudolf. The article attempts to analyse different types of original glosses and editorial footnotes in the Gospels of the Brest Bible, one of ten Polish translations of the Bible, included in the electronic publication of Szesnastowieczne przekłady Ewangelii (Eng. The analyses deal with the descriptions extracted from Nad Niemnem [On the Niemen] by Eliza Orzeszkowa and Listy z podróży do Ameryki [Letters from a Journey to America] by Henryk Sienkiewicz. The studies focus on the chosen features of the descriptions of nature by referring to the textological and stylistic research methodology. Indices of parametric features (such as size, height, length, width, depth, thickness and shape) and indices of sensory feedback have been juxtaposed with one another. The analyses show that the repertoire of linguistic and stylistic devices used by E. Orzeszkowa is by and large the same as the one used by H. Sienkiewicz due to their reference to the Romantic tradition. The descriptions differ in the intensity of the mentioned indices and in their function. Sienkiewicz’s descriptions of nature are more concrete and definite, while Orzeszkowa’s are more creative, with a tendency to poeticise nature. The analyses deal with the descriptions extracted from Nad Niemnem [On the Niemen] by Eliza Orzeszkowa and Listy z podróży do Ameryki [Letters from a Journey to America] by Henryk Sienkiewicz. The purpose of this article is to compare the Russian noun ярость (rage) and its Polish semantic equivalents (gniew, wściekłość, pasja, furia) reported by Russian-Polish and Polish-Russian Dictionaries. Monographs, articles and dictionary entries have been used to analyse the terms and to create new definitions of feelings based on the Natural semantic metalanguage (NSM). The new definitions were written using sixty semantic primes, are universal for all languages, which helped to show similarities or differences between such difficult terms as feelings. Using this method, symmetry and asymmetry of equivalence have been found between Russian and Polish words. The purpose of this article is to compare the Russian noun ярость (rage) and its Polish semantic equivalents (gniew, wściekłość, pasja, furia) reported by Russian-Polish and Polish-Russian Dictionaries.
