The text presents an analysis of three Polish herbariums from the period of the sixteenth to the seventeenth centuries as examples representing the ancient academic discourse. The presented considerations allow for maintaining the claim about the cultural aspect of Polish academic discourse in the distant past. The texts which represent it are the source of the information about the state of the knowledge in chosen domains and dis- ciplines. Moreover, they constitute the reflection of the knowledge itself in its practi- cal use described in the herbariums, which is a peculiar feature of old Polish academic texts. Justified, then, is the claim that these analysed texts and their discourse are aca- deming in nature, of course on condition that one takes into account their historical context. Apart from the professional awareness of the time, one notices certain strate- gies for constructing the texts and their discourse which prove the academic discourse. Features such as precision, objectivity, argument problematisation etc. were developed and strengthened in subsequent centuries. The text presents an analysis of three Polish herbariums from the period of the sixteenth to the seventeenth centuries as examples representing the ancient academic discourse. Case studies of children with autism indicate that there are still many patterns in therapy and that assessing the abilities of non-speaking children is a huge problem. The search for individually-adapted communication strategies should be emphasised. Writing offers great opportunities for communication, however, it is often not offered to nonspeaking children, especially those with profound perceptual disorders.Case studies of children with autism indicate that there are still many patterns in therapy and that assessing the abilities of non-speaking children is a huge problem. This article is a voice in a streamlined discussion on methods for diagnosing adult patients with aphasia. The variety of aphasic symptoms and the complexity of the clinical picture of patients after neurological incidents often make it impossible to conduct an examination with standardised, well-known methods [see Siudak 2017]. The signals of reluctance towards the methods of examination sent by patients are uttered expressis verbis by people who have overcome aphasia: we need a conversation, not an examination. How then, do we turn diagnosis into a meeting? How can we determine the level of linguistic functioning without having to make the patient aware of what they can no longer do? The Gradual Test Method developed by the author is a research proposal, in which the determination of a patient’s level of language difficulty is based on a gradual transition from easier to more complex structures, without repeating the same procedures many times

The article characterises Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders as a holistic developmen- tal disorder, emphasising the importance of communication difficulties, both verbal and non-verbal. By pointing successively to the pathological changes in the anatomy and the functioning of individual parts of the CNS, the authors draw attention to the aspects of the impaired development of a child with FASD (FAS, PFAS, ND-PAE, FAS without confirmed prenatal alcohol exposure) and the possibility of providing support through proper programming of the therapeutic process while taking into consider- ation neurobiological knowledge. In the therapeutic work with a child affected by fetal alcohol syndrome, the starting point should be the identification of the child’s strengths rather than deficits. These children require holistic therapy, thanks to which it is pos- sible to eliminate the health, communication and also social problems. The authors present the methods of overall development interactions with the aim of creating the foundations of the language. The article characterises Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders as a holistic developmen- tal disorder, emphasising the importance of communication difficulties, both verbal and non-verbal. Communications made by marketing specialists during the COVID-19 pandemic differ greatly from the journalistic communications creating a climate of fear. Companies are trying to exert a positive influence on customer attitudes and draw their attention to the marketing offering by neutralising their sense of threat and informing them of protective measures taken and of the potential health benefits of purchasing the products offered or the service provided. The constant trends are to use allusive statements and tabooisation of the language sphere associated with the pandemic. One of the factors that can help attract a potential customer is humour, which creates a distance from the hazard. This article presents the various roles played by marketing specialists in a pandemic-triggered crisis situation (e.g. the role of the victim, the role of the saviour who provides safety, health and good mood). The study examines the posts published on Facebook pages by randomly selected companies between October and December 2020.Communications made by marketing specialists during the COVID-19 pandemic differ greatly from the journalistic communications creating a climate of fear. Exposé is one of the most important political texts in Poland. The program speech contains key information regarding the plans of the new government for the term of office. With the development of political marketing and the role of the media in Poland, the exposé has become a form of communication not only as a message of programming, but also of image. The purpose of this article is to study the changes in the readability of the program speech in the 1989–2019 period. It is now possible thanks to the Jasnopis tool developed by Włodzimierz Gruszczyński’s team. It uses the experience of American and Polish researchers regarding the analysis of the level of text readability, including the formulas developed by Robert Gunning and Walery Pisarek. The evolution of the exposé, and above all the process of simplifying program speech, has not yet been described in the literature. This article is an attempt to describe the research on the readability of the text and to indicate the changes in the exposé and their reasons.Exposé is one of the most important political texts in Poland. The paper reviews the methods for improving verbal communication in selected variants of Alzheimer’s disease, both in the typical and language variant. It emphasises the need to optimise the management within the framework of patientcentred care, allowing to address individual needs. As far as indirect interventions are concerned, the article presents techniques aimed at improving communication with the affected person, and more broadly – aimed at preserving the quality of life in the course of the illness. Among direct interventions, those aimed at selected system abilities and supporting language function in the context of cognitive and social function are presented. It is shown how speech and language therapy can integrate other therapeutic paradigms, developed in psychology, such as patientcentred therapy and cognitive neuropsychological rehabilitation. The paper reviews the methods for improving verbal communication in selected variants of Alzheimer’s disease, both in the typical and language variant.
