    Statistical Data Analysis of the Challenges and Expectations of a Woman Reporter in Pakistani Media: A Situation Analysis in Karachi

    Journalism is a challenging profession in Pakistan, where women are less encouraged to adopt journalism as their career. This research is designed to address specific issues that a woman reporter faces while reporting in public. The article focuses on the cultural trends and societal acceptance of a woman as a journalist. This research intends to find the extent our society supports and accommodates a woman working as a reporter. This study is the statistical analysis of the working conditions of a woman journalist treading on the streets in Pakistan. The study sheds light on the hurdles faced by a woman reporter in respect of Pakistani culture. Pakistan's society embraces several different cultures, but above all else, Islamic culture prevails. Many pieces of research explored the minimal participation of women in journalism, but there we see less material addressing the cultural issues, which tend to be a considerable hindrance for an individual. The present study with the quantitative statistical approach probes the ground realities in the light of the cultural perspective regarding the motivating or demotivating conditions. The statistical analysis and data entry are completed with the help of SPSS. Pearson’s Chi-Square Test clearly shows the positive relationship between gender and social hindrances

    The Conditional Indirect Effect Model of Employees’ Innovative Work Behavior

    The basic determination of the current study is to investigate the effect of employees’ proactive personality in relation with their innovative work behaviors through mediation and moderation of employee engagement and long-term orientation respectively at workplace. The data collected from 220 employees working in hospitality industry through purposive sampling technique and analyzed through Smart-PLS, furthermore, the moderated-mediation index calculated through PROCESS-macro. The results show that the indirect outcome of proactive personality on innovative work is stronger than the direct effect. Although employee engagement plays an imperative role in bridging gap between employees’ proactive personality and their innovative behaviors at workplace, but long-term orientation of employees’ augment this mechanism. The best possible explanations, limitations and impending guidelines are deliberated

    Scope of Photojournalism and its Impact on in Reducing Violence

    In journalism, photojournalism is a kind of reporting that utilizes photos to convey a narrative about a breaking news event. Photojournalism has been utilized by journalists to chronicle news stories in order to enrich the narrative process via the use of visual imagery and illustration. Besides being utilized for general photography, this kind of news reporting has also been employed to report on violence and conflict from the beginning of time. The representation of war tales and violent occurrences via images has completely altered the way people see the past as well as the way they interpret those events and the news. The primary goal of this research paper is to examine the significance of photography in both war and violence-related settings, and to determine if it is a beneficial and healthy method to describe events, or whether it is the opposite. This study is qualitative in nature, which is why surveys and questionnaires are being administered to a sample size of 100 participants ranging in age from 16 to 30 years old and representing a variety of occupations, the majority of whom are students. Karachi serves as my home base since it is the biggest city in Pakistan and because it has a diverse population of individuals who come from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds

    Citizen Journalism and Media Laws and Ethics in Post Truth Era: An analytical survey

    The ‘post-truth era’ is what we might call the era of false news and rumors. In the past, in the presence of specific and limited media, the continuity of news and the selection process was complete and standardized, due to which the media of the past were ethical, credible, complete and selected. The ‘post-truth era’ is in fact a term that covers the prevalence of misinformation and fake news and the consequent unpleasant accidents and the consequent adverse effects on society over the last ten years. The exchange of substandard, unsubstantiated and fake news in less time than true, standard and authentic news in itself is a disruptive process in itself. With the advent of modern times and developmental stages, the growth of the media is a continuous constructive process, logically and theoretically it is a good change but in practice the result has been different from the expectations. Social media is working as a complete modern media channel, and is now being used extensively for communication and news coverage. To properly interpret the term post-truth era, writers should be asked to know the rules and ethical linguistic boundaries. What percentage of writers know these rules or not? Karachi-based bloggers and who are running YouTube channel from about 100 male and female were asked to fill out a survey form and were asked to analytical questions about the relevant boundary laws and response to their content

    The Effect of Firm’s Specific variables on firms\u27 financial performance: A Global Sectorial Analysis

    This study investigated the impact of Corporate Diversification, investment, Capital structure, and dividend policies on a firm’s financial performance. The dependent variables taken for measuring the financial performance of the firms included ROE, ROA, and Tobin’s q. The independent variables were taken as investment, dividend as well as capital structure policies. Moreover, corporate diversification variables are represented by product diversification and geographic diversification. Other variables like the size of assets and the age of firms were taken as control. The hypothesis stated that divided policy, investment policy, and corporate diversification have a positive impact on a firm’s financial performances and capital structure has a negative impact on a firm’s financial performance. The data is collected from 10 multinational firms of different sectors. These firms are Bosch Pvt Ltd, Toyota Motors Ltd, Sanofi Aventis Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Coca-Cola beverages Ltd, Pepsi Ltd, McDonald\u27s Ltd, Nestle Ltd, Reckitt Benckiser Ltd, and Unilever Ltd. The firms’ data are collected from 25 countries. The countries include Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, and the USA. The data is examined annually from 2015 to 2019 in panel form. The regression analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation matrix, and ANOVA methods are used for the estimation, interdependency, and correlation between the variables. The results are based on sectorial analysis as the firms belong to the consumer, pharmaceutical, automobile, food, and FMCG sectors

    Exploring Emotions at Organization Level: Emotional Intelligence Framework (EQF) an Integrative Approach Towards Universal Definition of EQ.

    Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is considered to be an important attribute to succeed at top level of management and is a distinguishing factor among top performing employees at workplace. However, the variance in literature points towards the gap of the discrepancy in the elements of EQ models entailing to work towards a holistic, multilevel and sequential model. To address afore said discrepancies, a humble effort is made to present a revised comprehensive framework of EQ. A detailed theoretical analysis for EQ dimensions helped to identify the domain of new Contents for the existing construct of EQ which were regrouped into three constructs of Emotional Appreciation (EA), Emotional Application (EL) and Emotional Maturity (EM). The proposed Model disambiguate EQ as exhaustibly as possible in a hierarchical and sequential manner to allow reasoning about their property working towards an integrated framework of all the elements of influential EQ models as suggested by practitioners. The proposed model will be a valuable tool for managers and academia as it incorporates all the dimensions of EQ and present a logical hierarchical model and is a modest attempt to work towards a universal definition of EQ

    Tourism is the key pillar of economy for many countries like Switzerland, Dubai and Pakistan is no exception. Pakistan has the world best tourist destinations. Balochistan is blessed with variety of tourist attractions which includes mountains, beaches, deserts, religious, cultural, archeological and forest sites. Unfortunately, Balochistan is facing two key hurdles in order to attract local and international tourists. The first hurdle is, its hidden and scenic beauty is not projected the way it requires to be and second, the fragile security situation of the province is preventing the tourist industry of the province to blossom to the maximum potential. Balochistan tourist industry has the potential to support the fragile economy of the country provided that Social Media platform is used effectively to attract tourists. Tourist promotion pages exist on different social media platforms providing visual information about various tourist sites of the province. Official pages of the Tourism department, Govt. of Blochistan can be launched on different social media sites to highlight the tourist destinations in an effective way.     Do HRM Practices Influence Perceived Financial Performance? A Case of Banks in Pakistan

    Recently ubiquity in Human Resource Management (HRM) literature has been found and much more focus is directed towards exploring HRM practices and their effect on perceived financial performance of a firm. This study is an endeavor to contribute in the Pakistan context literature of HRM vis-à-vis Financial Performance paradigm. It was aimed at finding the relationship pattern of HRM practices over its contribution in firm’s performance. A questionnaire was deployed to ascertain the extent of relationship among the two and financial services sector was chosen to fill the questionnaire. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed for analysis to understand the structural dimensions of exogenous and endogenous constructs. Out of the six HRM practices, only two came out to be significantly impacting the perceived financial performance of firms. Compensation Policy and Decentralization results were found to be affecting the perception of employees towards the financial growth of the firms

    Workforce Competencies and Digital Transformation: A Literature Survey

    The 21st century is an era of disruption, vanishing entities lagging behind to transform themselves. Digital transformation therefore has gained much recognition especially in the 21st century, as the technological advancement assists in significantly optimizing business operations, product service and design innovation. Organizations around the world are investing and making constant efforts in digital transformation by updating and upgrading their business processes in order to improve the firm\u27s performance and achieve competitive advantage. However digital transformation requires the workforce to possess adequate competencies, both for implementation and utilization post implementation, as these technological changes bring intense shifts in the attitude and behavior of the traditional ways of doing. This paper, therefore, attempts to bridge the gap in literature for the changing needs of today\u27s workforce competencies that are deemed necessary in the era of digital transformation, by gathering evidences from literature analysis. The paper contributes to the body of literature by directing industry practitioners and researchers to adopt a wider outlook, while undergoing the journey of digital transformation, which encompasses diversity in workforce competencies. The researcher has discussed diversity and digital transformation, with the perspective of what digital transformation needs is what gender diversity offers

    V-logs Induced Tourism in Pakistan

    The recent increase in Pakistani tourism is partly due to substantial coverage of tourist locations in films/v-logs and the trend of sharing them on social media. This study examines the link between tourism and films/v-logs on tourism in Pakistan. The researchers studied v-log films uploaded on social media especially Facebook and YouTube for this research. They selected four variables after the review of literature, which include destination image, information quality, motivation, and intentions. This research uses quantitative methodology to study the relation between these variables. The results show a positive relation between the variables and the hypothesis were accepted. The study also shed some light upon how the COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the tourism in Pakistan
