    The purpose of this study is to determine the level of physical activity among upper-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tonatan, Ponorogo Regency. Physical activity involves movements of the body that require energy, and for individuals, maintaining physical and mental condition is crucial to sustain a good quality of life throughout the day. This research is a quantitative descriptive study conducted at SD Negeri 2 Tonatan, Ponorogo Regency, East Java Province. The method employed is a survey method using the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C) as the instrument. The subjects in this study are all upper-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tonatan, totaling 116 students. The data analysis technique utilized is quantitative descriptive analysis using percentages.The results of the study indicate that the level of physical activity among upper-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tonatan, Ponorogo Regency, is as follows: very low category, 2 students or 1.7%; low category, 41 students or 35.3%; moderate category, 38 students or 32.8%; high category, 26 students or 22.4%; and very high category, 9 students or 7.8% of the total number of upper-grade students. The data obtained shows that the majority of upper-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tonatan, Ponorogo Regency, have a low level of physical activity

    From social majority to political minority: the stagnation of Islamic Parties in Indonesia

    This study explores the dynamics of Islamic political parties in Indonesia during the Reformasi era, which was marked by significant political system changes and evolving electoral landscapes. Despite Indonesia's status as the country with the world’s largest Muslim population, this research focuses on understanding the factors behind the lack of voter interest in Islamic political parties, especially after the 1998 reform. By utilizing a literature review method, this research aims to identify why these parties have struggled to gain significant votes in post-reform elections and what steps they could take to improve their relevance and image among voters. The findings indicate that although Indonesia holds the largest Muslim population globally, Islamic-based parties have faced consistent challenges in securing electoral success. After the reform, while many new Islamic parties emerged, none regained the dominance once held by the United Development Party (PPP) during the New Order era, when the PPP was the sole political platform for Muslims following party simplification by Soeharto’s regime. The study also reveals that the lack of voter interest can be attributed to Islamic parties’ failure to present concrete, appealing programs and voter dissatisfaction with their performance. Ultimately, this research aims to provide insights into how Islamic political parties can enhance their role in Indonesia’s democratic system by improving voter engagement and political participation

    Resilience of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Actors "Pasar Kamu" in the Development of Kampoeng Lama Tourism Village

    This research aims to describe the resilience of MSME actors through aspects of resilience, resilience abilities, and independence of MSME actors in developing “the Pekan Breakfast Karya Anak Muda” (Pasar Kamu) tourist village. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This research ensures data validity through source, technical, and time triangulation. Data analysis included data collection, condensation, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that (1) “Pasar Kamu” MSME players utilize digital marketing training and community involvement to increase product exposure and strengthen commitment. With an efficient management system, stress management strategy, and collaboration with business actors and the government, they support the sustainability of tourist villages through continuous improvement. (2) MSME players manage emotions and make measured decisions by discussing, exercising, and self-reflecting with mentors. They avoid impulsive decisions with a policy of overnight sleep and team consultation. Optimism and empathy are driven by achievement celebrations, motivational books, and community support, while systematic analysis increases efficiency and profitability. (3) “Pasar Kamu” MSME players overcome operational challenges through cooperative loans, strategic location selection, and cooperative assistance for production capacity. They implement appropriate strategic planning and management systems and use data-based performance evaluation to support sustainable growth

    Problems in the reality of our lives require mathematics to be solved often using analogies in their solutions or also called metaphors. The condition of these problems requires students to develop abilities that emphasize the development of relationships between mathematical concepts and real phenomena in the surrounding environment. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling. The study was conducted at a public senior high school in Central Kalimantan during the 2024–2025 academic year, with 3 spatial students as subjects with Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic learning styles in class X room H. This study aims to determine the metaphorical thinking process of students when solving trigonometry word problems. By using metaphorical thinking skills, students' mathematical understanding process becomes more meaningful because they can see, form, and map mathematical concepts to real concepts according to experience

    Android-based virtual laboratory with starter experiment approach for learning vertebrate organ systems in high school

    Limited laboratory equipment causes practicum of vertebrate animal organ systems to be rarely carried out so that learning is only theoretical and has an impact on student understanding that is less than optimal. This study aims to develop and test the validity and feasibility of an Android-based virtual laboratory with a starter experiment approach on vertebrate animal organ system material for high schools. This media is also equipped with LKP (Practicum Worksheet) to support virtual laboratory activities. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. Data were collected through validation questionnaires from media experts, material experts, and trials to students, then analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively. The validation results show that the virtual laboratory has a validity level of 91% from media experts and 89% from material experts, which is included in the "very valid" category. Meanwhile, the feasibility test results showed a value of 91% in individual trials, 96% in small groups, and 94% in large groups, all of which were included in the "very feasible" category. Thus, the Android-based virtual laboratory with a starter experiment approach on vertebrate animal organ system material is very valid and feasible to use in learning. This media helps teachers deliver material, enhances student understanding, and addresses lab limitations in technology-based learning. Further development should optimize app size for low-spec devices, ensure compatibility with iOS, and improve interactive features for a more realistic practicum experience

    Enhancing creative thinking skills on biotechnology materials: Development of an e-module using Google Sites

    Updates are not yet available for media learning based on electronic learning, which loads creative learning on biotechnology material and has an impact on boring lessons. Therefore, this study aims to: 1) Determine the validity of e-modules on biotechnology material to improve students' creative thinking skills; 2) determine the effectiveness of e-modules on the material to improve students' creative thinking skills; 3) determine the practicality of e-modules on the material to improve students' creative thinking skills. Development research e-modul with using google site on this biotechnology material using model procedures development of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) with a sample size of 95 students to test its effectiveness. The research results show that: 1) Products E- Module Biotechnology use google sites are very valid for improving students' creative thinking skills semester 3 Program Studies Education Biology with proven mark validity as big as 86.36% from media expert, 93.75% from the expert material, And 81.94% from the test try group scale small. 2) Product E- Module Biotechnology use google very sites effective For increase skills think creative student semester 3 Program Studies Biology Education is proven by the significance value of the Wilcoxon test of 0,000 in lower 0.05; 3) Products E- Module Biotechnology use google very sites practical For increase skills think creative student semester 3 Program Studies Biology Education with proven mark its practicality as big as 88.18% of the questionnaires were filled out by students in the group scale large. So, in general, the Google Site-based e-module product on biotechnology material is worthy of use and dissemination. Further research recommendations to be able to research Google Sites based E-Modules using different materials and variables

    The effectiveness of augmented reality in enhancing learning outcomes in a microcontroller course

    One significant challenge in technical and vocational education is students’ difficulty in achieving a deep conceptual understanding, particularly in complex subjects such as microcontrollers. Traditional methods often lack interactivity and real-world context, leading to low engagement and learning outcomes. Augmented Reality (AR) provides an immersive and interactive learning experience that enables students to visualize abstract concepts. This study examined the impact of AR-based instructional media on learning outcomes in a Microcontroller course, using a true experimental design (Solomon Four Group Design). Four student groups from four vocational higher education institutions in Makassar participated (total N = 143). Two groups received AR-based instruction, and two received conventional teaching; two of the groups also completed a pretest. Learning outcomes were assessed through essay-format pretests and posttests aligned with microcontroller learning indicators. Learning improvement was measured using normalized gain scores, and data were analyzed with normality tests, homogeneity tests, ANCOVA, independent t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. Results showed that AR significantly improved learning outcomes, with experimental groups achieving a mean gain score of 0.75 (in the high category), compared to 0.16 (in the low category) in control groups. Statistical tests confirmed significant differences between groups (p < 0.05), while comparisons among control groups indicated no substantial pretest effect. This confirms that the learning improvement resulted from the AR intervention. The findings suggest AR-based instructional media effectively enhance conceptual understanding, learning quality, and student engagement in technical education. The study concludes that AR is a viable instructional tool in vocational learning and recommends its broader use and further development in similar educational contexts

    Tablet adoption and mobile learning impact in high school

    This study examines the challenges of integrating mobile learning and tablet adoption in Tshwane West high schools, where inconsistent device availability, infrastructure limitations, and varying digital confidence hinder effective use. It explored how educators prepare learners for mobile learning, the effectiveness of training programmes for tablet adoption, and strategies to optimize mobile learning. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected from nine educators across three urban and township schools through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Findings show generally positive attitudes toward tablets, with noted improvements in lesson delivery and student engagement. However, sustained integration requires reliable technology access, continuous educator-focused professional development, and robust technical and administrative support. The study recommends incorporating collaborative projects, quizzes with immediate feedback, and multimedia presentations in lessons to enhance learner motivation and performance. For future research, longitudinal studies are suggested to evaluate the lasting effects of mobile learning on academic outcomes and to investigate institutional and infrastructural barriers in varied educational contexts. These insights will inform more effective policies and practices to advance digital education transformation in South African schools

    Effect of Learning Intervention on the Improvement of Students' Questioning Skills in Physics Learning

    This study aims to reveal the effect of a learning intervention on the questioning ability in physics learning of the students of SMA Negeri 1 Kuta Baro. Employing a quantitative approach with a nonequivalent control group quasi-experimental design, the research involved 84 students, comprising 41 students in the experimental group (Classes X-1 and XI-1) and 43 students in the control group (Classes X-2 and XI-2). The learning intervention in the experimental class integrated the problem-based learning (PBL) model, teacher-student question-and-answer interactions, collaborative group discussions, and inter-group Q&A sessions. The research results showed that the learning intervention significantly and substantially enhanced students' questioning ability, as measured by the dimensions of questioning skills, including clarity, focus, conciseness, depth of information, and cognitive level. There was a 27.56% increase in the quantity of written questions in the experimental class, far exceeding the 7.9% increase in the control class. Although the quantity of oral questions increased in the experimental class, the cognitive level of oral questions in both groups remained low; however, their effectiveness (clarity and focus) was categorized as high. Overall, the learning intervention proved effective in facilitating the development of students' questioning skills, although further strategies were still needed to encourage questions at higher cognitive levels. Further follow-up is required to enhance students' oral questioning ability at the mental level by improving their prior knowledge of the subject matter and critical thinking skill

    Score conversion methods with modern test theory approach: Ability, difficulty, and guessing justice methods

    The one-parameter logistic (1-PL) model is widely used in Item Response Theory (IRT) to estimate student ability; however, ability-based scoring disregards item difficulty and guessing behavior, which can bias proficiency interpretations. This study evaluates three scoring alternatives derived from IRT: an ability-based conversion, a difficulty-weighted conversion, and a proposed guessing-justice method. Dichotomous responses from 400 students were analyzed using the Rasch (1-PL) model in the R environment with the ltm package. The 1-PL specification was retained to support a parsimonious and interpretable calibration framework consistent with the comparative scoring purpose of the study. Rasch estimation produced item difficulty values ranging from −1.03 to 0.18 and identified 268 unique response patterns. Ability-based scoring yielded only eight score distinctions, demonstrating limited discriminatory capacity. In contrast, the guessing-justice method produced a substantially more differentiated distribution, with approximately 70 percent of patterns consistent with knowledge-based responding and 30 percent indicative of guessing. The findings indicate that scoring models incorporating item difficulty and guessing behaviour provide a more equitable and accurate representation of student proficiency than traditional ability-based conversions. The proposed approach offers a practical and implementable alternative for classroom assessment and can be applied using widely accessible spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel
