Fuel Subsidy and Education Sector Financing in Nigeria: A Short-run Adjustment to Equilibrium Approach
This study examined the impact of fuel subsidy on education sector financing in Nigeria from 1990 through 2023. Annual data were obtained from the Nigeria Petroleum Corporation and World Development Indicators, (WDI) on variables such as fuel subsidy, government expenditure on education sector, Oil Revenue, pump price of Premium Motor Spirit and secondary school enrolment in Nigeria. A bound cointegration test and ECM were employed. Granger test for causality was also used to ascertain the direction of causation in the series. The estimated error correction term, ECT (-1) is significant. There is no causal relationship from fuel subsidy to education sector financing. However, education sector financing granger causes fuel subsidy. Premium Motor Spirit and education sector financing were found to granger-cause each other. The study recommends that government should ensure that fuel subsidy is not allowed to deprive education of its fair share of government spending, given that current spending on the sector has been established to have implication for the sectors growth in the future years

The study concludes that to eradicate organized crime and corruption in Nigeria, effort should be geared towards a fool-proof, digitized intelligence gathering on identifying the roots causes and a way to nip them in the bud. All leakages in the public sector also need to be blocked to curtail loopholes for corruption to thrive It is recommended that prosecution be forcefully pursued through the enactment of an accountability legislation for public office holders and the enhancement of police and court system skills through sufficient funding.Furthermore, the government ought to take action to promote a more productive economy, which would lower unemployment and serve as a deterrent to crime
Revisiting the Money Supply and Real Output Nexus in Nigeria: Test of Neutrality Proposition?
This study investigates the money supply-real output nexus while examining the neutrality hypothesis for Nigeria utilizing data from 1980 to 2022. The study used the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) technique and the discrete threshold regression model. The finding supports the money neutrality hypothesis in the long run but non-neutrality in the short run. In order words, money supply does not have a significant influence on real output growth in the long-term but does in the short-term. Inflation was found to have a reducing consequence on real output growth in the long and short term, while real effective exchange rates have a reducing effect on real output in the long run but advance in the short run. Structural breaks before the year 2000 have a significant influence on GDP growth in both the long and short run. Sequel to these outcomes, the study suggests an optimum fiscal policy mix with modest monetary policy should be adopted in Nigeria with more attention on the fiscal responsibility of the government to influence changes in real variables. More so, the CBN should urgently begin to announce specific inflation targets for the country since it has a reducing impact on GDP growth in the long run while ensuring the attainment of a more realistic exchange rate for the naira by increasing domestic production for export in the long run
Renewable Energy Consumption and Economic Growth in Nigeria Nexus
With rising rates of globalization, increasing climate change and economic growth, energy usage and energy security, governments are paying more attention to the impact of renewable energy consumption on the economies. The paper examines the relationship between renewable energy consumption and economic growth in Nigeria using a time series data from 1996 to 2021. The results of the unit root show mixed stationarity from our variables which result in the usage of ARDL technique of analysis. The long run results show that renewable energy was negative and significant thus, validates the conservative hypothesis. C02 was also negatively significant to RGDP while labor force was positively significant. The ECM shows 77% adjustment level backs to equilibrium. Granger causality test validated the feedback hypothesis of no causality among the renewable energy and the Nigeria economy

In the data analysis, descriptive statistics and a basic regression technique was used. This study therefore confirmed a positive nexus between agricultural risk financing strategies and food safety and control in Ekiti State, Nigeria. In an effort to support farmers\u27 output capacities, the agricultural insurance providers should improve and broaden their value-chain procedures. To provide more farmers access, the government should broaden the subsidy network.
