Get PDFThe use of aromatherapy was very well known in the community. The best-selling and quickly accepted product was aromatherapy oil. The benefits of aromatherapy were not only for health, but also for calming the mind and relaxation. Empowerment of PKK as members of the community and still classified as productive workforce was very important to do, aiming to foster awareness and independence in doing business, while expanding employment to increase family income in an effort to achieve a happy and prosperous family. In relation to efforts to foster and develop the potential of families and regions, it can be done through various alternative activities, including training in making aromatherapy oil product. The purpose of this community service program was to empower mothers and women through training and assistance in aromatherapy oil production. The target of this activity was PKK RW 04 Mojosongo Village, Jebres District, Surakarta City. The output of this activity was improving the skills of the community to produce aromatherapy wind oil and motivating business opportunities for PKK mothers. Without literacy skills, students seem to learn things, but they are not able to apply science in their lives. PISA test results indicate that secondary school students in Indonesia have a low literacy level. Science teachers have a great responsibility to work to develop scientific literacy in the learning process. Solution that can improve students 'scientific literacy is through learning designs that familiarize science with students' real lives. Science literacy can be grown through issues and factual conditions faced by students. For students in Riau Islands, the maritime / marine environment is the closest and most representative environment that they often face in their daily lives. Associated with learning science that emphasizes the formation of scientific literacy, put forward studies or real examples of various aspects and maritime phenomena become very relevant to do. Problems in the field (SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang) in learning science, especially biology and chemistry, which emphasizes maritime insight with the aim of developing scientific literacy has not been maximally carried out. The capacity and experience of teachers in designing maritime insight-based learning with the aim of growing scientific literacy is a limiting factor in this regard. Get PDFThe purpose of this workshop was to help Yayasan YSMAK write books about its own spirituality. Yayasan YSMAK wanted to apply the spirituality for all its institutions such as education, orphanage, and polyclinics, but Yayasan had no such books yet. So YSMAK conducted a workshop to write those books. There were 22 teachers and Abdi Kristus nuns who were chosen to be team members for writing those books. A lecturer from Sanata Dharma University, was asked to be a facilitator and editor for the workshop. The workshop had been done during 6 months, from September 2018 to March 2019. The result was that they were able to write 6 books about the MHA spirituality for: kinder garden schools, primary schools, middle schools, vocation school, orphanage, and policlinics. During the workshop the facilitator conducted a retreat and guided them how to write a book on spirituality. He also made correction and edited the books

Uniformity of business and cake that get quickly stale often causes losses; and the comunity’s economy becomes minimal. ‘Hajat’ as a distinctive traditon of mutual cooperation in material an immaterial relying on trust and networking with the need for patriees as an invitation, is precisely the business oppurtunity cultivated by newcomers. The success of migrants is due to modern business methods and management by relying on networks and trust. The program aims to offer the public a choice of types, methods and effective bisiness management. Mix method is used with material through digital literacy, lectures, discussions, and practice with 4 meetings. Participants’ feedback is to write the type of cake to be made, the ingredients needed, made at home, evaluated at the next meeting, until the product is ready for production and marketed by partners. The result is that 42 of those present at the fisrt meeting continued to shrink dramatically at the next meeting. In the third meeting, the team must visit directly to the homes of potential participant. The container that was expected to run into a pioneering organization for the creative economy center of the community was not successful. EDUKASI DAN SKRINING SINDROM METABOLIK PADA KELOMPOK WANITA GEREJA KRISTEN NAZARENE FILADELFIA YOGYAKARTA
Get PDFMetabolic syndrome (MS) has been frequently found in the community due to lifestyle changes. The increasing prevalence of MS causes public health problems which can in-crease the risk of cardiometabolic disease. Prevention of metabolic syndrome is an im-portant issue within the community by empowering the subjects with education. The Faculty of Pharmacy had collaborated with the Nazarene Filadelfia Christian Church (GKNF) in conducting a medical examination. In this service activity, the Faculty of Pharmacy provided health education about metabolic syndrome and early detection of MS risk factors. This service activity was done in two separated events, the first and second events were carried out on June 20, 2019 and August 1, 2019 respectively. The activities comprised of 1) providing education about MS using module; 2) screening of MS risk factors including anthropometric examination: height, weight, blood pressure test, and blood tests to measure blood glucose, uric acid and cholesterol levels. Provi-sion of education related to MS did not change the random blood glucose level, uric ac-id level, and systolic blood pressure, but it decreased significantly decrease diastolic blood pressure. The provision of education increased cholesterol levels significantly, though the values were still within normal limits. The subjects participated in the activi-ty of the MS prevention counseling were expected to be able to apply the obtained in-formation to their families, although this education has not reduced their risk of SM

Get PDFThe impact of mental disorders is a decrease in personal, social and work functions in people who experience it, thereby reducing productivity and quality of life. Management of mental disorders, currently focused on im-proving the quality of life. One indicator of quality of life is independence and productivity of people with mental disorders (ODGJ). Business assis-tance provided after ODGJ has recovered from its disruption will help ODGJ to be productive again. One of the businesses that have been initiat-ed by partners, namely the Lentera Harmoni Jiwa (LemJiwa) Foundation, is the OBAH (Omah Buah Barokah) business. The LemJiwa Foundation is a community social organization engaged in mental health located in DIY. Activities undertaken include mental health education for ODGJ, families and communities, as well as helping ODGJ to be productive (empower-ment) again. The proposer is partnering with the LemJiwa Foundation to develop the OBAH Business program for ODGJ. The aim of the program is to improve work skills for ODGJs and in the end is expected to increase ODGJ productivity. The program starts with making an agreement between the proposing team and partners, continued with coordination, and prepar-ing facilities and infrastructure. The proposing team develops a schedule of program activities, modules, and evaluation instruments. Implementers of the OBAH Business program for ODGJ are administrators of the LemJiwa Foundation who have been trained by a community service team that has expertise in mental health. Participants were 6 ODGJ members of the LemJiwa Foundation, aged 18-50 years, stable clinical condition, taking medication regularly, having a family as a caregiver and willing to join the program. Participants come every weekday, 8:00 to 14:00, follow the schedule of activities, for 1 month. The activity was accompanied by the organizers of the LemJiwa Foundation and the facilitator. Participants ex-perience an increase in independence and productivity after implementing the program. Participants have jobs, earn income and feel satisfaction

By cooperating with Jatipulo subdistrict on RW 08 in West Jakarta, lectures and students held the Organic Composing Fertilizer and Marketing Training. The training involved local housewives, local youth committee, and some head of RT. The aims of the activity were to manage the house waste (wasted rice, vegetables) to be processed into organic fertilizer and expected to help the locals and to reduce the house waste by selling the organic composing fertilizer combines with ornamental-plant. There were 60 participants in total attending the training. The training was held on October 14 and November 13 2018 with the evaluation afterwards. The training method was presenting the demonstration and hands-on practical to understand deeply. Te result of evaluation were organic compos successfully implemented and the pot was produced with the current trend design in order to attract millennial customers

The dominant forms of cooperatives in Surakarta City are the Savings and Loans cooperative (KSP) and the Savings and Loans Unit (USP) whose activities are similar to Rural Banks, but in practice it turns out that they lack the precautionary principle and risk management. The scope of KSP / USP is very limited because it can only accept deposits or provide loans to members / prospective members. The implementation of this service is in the form of risk management training so that KSP / USP management can increase knowledge about the importance of the precautionary principle in its management. Implementation method of service through training for 2 (two) days in collaboration with the PPUPIK-PPKU Semarang University and the Surakarta City Cooperatives SMEs Office. The result of dedication is the increase in understanding and ability of the management in managing the risk of deposit and lending activities, for example in calculating and converting interest rates, as well as in establishing reserves for uncollectible loans, analyzing and binding credit agreements
