Peran Otoritas Pengawas dalam Menanggulangi Risiko dan Memperkuat Stabilitas Perbankan Syariah
Islamic banking has experienced rapid growth as an alternative that aligns with Islamic principles, but it faces significant challenges in risk management and stability. This study examines the role of supervisory authorities in mitigating risks and enhancing the stability of Islamic banking. Using a qualitative approach through literature reviews and analysis of applicable regulations, this research identifies key challenges such as regulatory adaptation, risk management for Islamic financial products, and compliance with Islamic principles. Furthermore, the study proposes strategies for supervisory authorities, including regulatory innovation, international collaboration, and continuous education and training programs for industry players and supervisors. The findings reveal that the proactive role of supervisory authorities is crucial in maintaining the stability and sustainability of Islamic banking. Strategies such as risk-based supervision, the implementation of regulatory sandboxes, and enhanced synergy between supervisory authorities and Sharia Supervisory Boards (SSBs) are vital in addressing existing challenges. With effective supervision and the application of appropriate strategies, the stability of the Islamic financial system can be enhanced, supporting the sustainable growth of the Islamic economy
The Impact of Modern Politics on Civil Society in Indonesia: A Review of Muhammadiyah's and Nahdlatul Ulama's Political Khittah
Modern politics, which is of interest to some, has detrimental effects, including on civil society. The main purpose of this research is to determine the impact of modern politics on the subject of research, namely civil society in Indonesia. Through a study of the political khittah of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, it is corroborated with the theory of civil society from Muhammad Abdul Fattah Santoso and K.H. Asep Saifuddin Chalim. This research uses a literature study method that collects data in the form of books and scientific journals related to the research theme. This research suggests that the impact of modern politics on civil society is quite diverse, ranging from dynastic politics that is authoritarian and disrupts the stability of democracy, the level of trust in leaders in this case the government decreases, to the emergence of an apathetic and pragmatic paradigm towards politics itself. In addition, social media, which is used as a forum for modern politics, contains a lot of hate speech and discredits other groups, which can change the existence of civil society. Muhammadiyah seeks to reconstruct on the basis of the Denpasar Khittah in 2002 coupled with offering a social contract to the government and reflecting on its attitudes and policies towards politics so far. Meanwhile, Nahdlatul Ulama is based on the 1984 NU Khittah which contains the principles of decision-making in political matters, along with reflecting on its attitudes and policies towards politics from time to time
Do Topics about Islam Better Facilitate English Writing Skills of Students in Islamic Colleges? Teachers’ and Students’ Reflections
Many studies have explored various strategies and approaches to facilitate students’ learning to write in English. However, few studies investigated the potential use of localized, familiar, and more personalized topics to develop students’ English writing skills. Considering Krashen’s comprehensible input hypothesis and Piaget’s constructivist approach, this study aimed to explore whether topics about Islam can better facilitate students' learning to write in English in Indonesian Islamic colleges. A mixed method design, qualitative method through interviews with seven English writing lecturers from four Islamic colleges in Indonesia, and quantitative method using a student survey, which was responded to by 100 students, became the source of data. The findings informed that a process-oriented approach, positive feedback, and freedom of and familiarity with topics were the main contributing factors to students' English writing development. The salient findings suggested that careful consideration of topic selection and vocabulary familiarity should be made when assigning writing tasks using topics about Islam in Islamic colleges
Unpacking the Effect of Flipped Learning to Enhance EFL Learners’ Sociopragmatics Knowledge: Speech Acts of Refusals in Focus
Although previous studies have acknowledged the significant effect of flipped classrooms in language learning, few research has concerned about its potential impact on EFL learners’ sociopragmatics knowledge. The present study aims to examine the promising role of flipped learning assisted by WhatsApp applications (i.e., WhatsApp-integrated flipped learning) in enhancing EFL learners’ appropriate use of refusals in English. Another objective is to examine EFL learners’ perception of the WhatsApp-integrated flipped learning activity in facilitating the learning process. This study employed a quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design of experimental and control groups. The experimental group (N=36) was taught in a WhatsApp-integrated flipped learning, while the control group (N=36) was enrolled in a similar class but did not experience the use of any digital platform. The intervention was conducted in eight meetings, including the process of data collection using Discourse Completion Tests, semi-structured interviews, and a TAM questionnaire. The results revealed that WhatsApp-integrated flipped learning was proven as an effective strategy to enhance EFL learners’ speech acts of refusals, indicated by a significant difference in the post-test scores of the experimental group compared to the control group. They showed positive acceptance toward the use of the WhatsApp application to facilitate flipped classrooms for teaching sociopragmatics. In addition, the semi-structured interview further disclosed that the learners positively perceived WhatsApp-integrated flipped learning activity. Implications for English language teaching and suggestions for future research are further discussed

Mediating Role of Trust in Celebrity Endorsements and Millennial Purchases of Halal Tourism Packages
The millennial generation is an active user of social media and is often exposed to promotional content from celebrities or influencers. While celebrity endorsements can increase exposure, not all endorsements are effective in driving purchase decisions. Thus, trust is the main factor that connects celebrity endorsements with purchase decisions. This research aimed to determine celebrity endorsement in improving the purchase of halal tourism packages and analyzing the mediation of trust in purchase decisions. This study used a quantitative survey method. The data analysis technique employed the Structural Equation Modeling method using purposive sampling. Respondents were selected based on age and social media users who made purchases of halal tour packages. The exclusion criteria included individuals who were only interested in or considering buying but had never traveled halal before, as they were not included as research respondents. The number of research samples was 130 participants. The study indicated that celebrity endorsers significantly influence millennial purchase decisions by mediating the trust variable on halal tourism packages. This study focuses on West Java millennials, limiting generalizability. Future research must expand to other regions and analyze the long-term trust effects that could enhance the understanding of halal tourism purchasing behavior. This finding contributed to halal tourism providers implementing effective marketing through social media optimization to encourage increasing sales
Does Macroeconomic Moderate The Effect of Risk and Diversification on Financial Stability? Evidence from Islamic Commercial Bank
Islamic banking's financial stability can improve efficiency and health and be able to withstand shocks originating from internal and external factors. This study analyzes the impact of risk, diversification, and inflation on the financial stability of Islamic banking. By using monthly time series data from 2018–2022, the analysis method used is multiple linear regression and moderate regression analysis (MRA) using the Eviews version 10 application. The results showed that the credit risk variable (NPF) has a significant negative relationship to financial stability (Z-Score). As well as the liquidity risk variable (FDR), financing diversification has a significant positive effect on the financial stability of Islamic banking (Z-Score). Macroeconomic variables (inflation) can strengthen the effect of financing diversification and weaken the effect of liquidity risk (FDR), but inflation cannot moderate the effect of credit risk (NPF) on the financial stability of Islamic banking (Z-Score). This study introduces a new theoretical approach to the conceptual relationship between variables. The findings can serve as a reference for monetary authorities in considering the impact of inflation in setting financial stability policies
S Sharia-Compliant Entrepreneurship: An Innovative Model for Islamic University Business Incubators
This study examines the unique challenges faced by Muslim entrepreneurs in aligning their businesses with sharia principles, introducing the concept of “Muslimpreneurship,” where profit-seeking is intertwined with sharia compliance and a broader sense of purpose. It emphasizes the role of Islamic universities in fostering entrepreneurship while maintaining adherence to Islamic values, highlighting distinctions between conventional and Islamic University Business Incubators (UBIs) in principle and practice. The proposed model advocates for sustained relationships with incubatees beyond the incubation phase, supporting them through continuous monitoring, mentorship, and consultancy. The research methodology consists of a literature review focusing on university business incubators, Muslim entrepreneurship, and Islamic business ethics; qualitative interviews with incubator managers from the IPB Business Incubator, Malang University, and Unpad Business Incubator to explore how these institutions support Muslim entrepreneurs and integrate sharia principles; and site visits to observe the practical application of Islamic values within these incubators. This approach aims to develop a conceptual framework for an Islamic University Incubator, offering both theoretical insights and practical recommendations for creating incubators that align with Islamic ethical standards.s
