Multidimensional Self-Adjustment of New Students: A Comprehensive Study among Academic, Social, Personal-Emotional, and Institutional Aspects at State Islamic Religious College
This study aims to analyze the multidimensional adjustment of new students at PTKIN throughout Central Java, including academic, social, personal-emotional, and institutional aspects based on gender, organizational activity, and residential status. This quantitative study using a survey approach involved 200 new students at PTKIN throughout Central Java as a sample, using the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) instrument (Baker & Siryk, 1984). Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U and Kruskal–Wallis tests. The results showed that social adjustment had the highest level, while institutional adjustment had the lowest. Significant differences were found in the academic and institutional dimensions based on gender, as well as in the academic, social, and personal-emotional dimensions based on organizational activity; however, there were no significant differences based on residential status. Islamic values such as ukhuwah, tazkiyatun nafs, and mujahadah played an integrative role in shaping students' academic, emotional, and spiritual balance. PTKIN is advised to strengthen Islamic-based guidance and counseling and integrate organizational activities with the institution's vision
Analysis of the Impact of Pro-Israel Boycotts on McDonald's Purchase Decisions in Semarang
The Israel-Palestine conflict has triggered a boycott movement targeting products perceived to support Israel, including McDonald’s. As a prominent fast-food brand, McDonald’s has become a boycott target in Indonesia, particularly in Semarang City. This issue gained further traction following MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023, which calls on Muslims to avoid Israeli-affiliated products. Consequently, it is crucial to examine the factors influencing purchasing decisions for McDonald’s amidst this boycott movement. This study investigates the impact of the pro-Israel product boycott on McDonald’s purchasing decisions in Semarang City. Additionally, it explores the role of price and evaluates Islamic consumption ethics and conformity as moderating variables. Using a quantitative approach, the study employs Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. Data was gathered from 140 Muslim respondents in Semarang City who have purchased McDonald’s products through a structured questionnaire. The findings indicate that the boycott movement significantly and negatively affects purchasing decisions for McDonald’s. Similarly, price has a significant negative impact. Moreover, Islamic consumption ethics amplify the negative influence of the boycott movement on purchasing decisions, acting as a significant moderating variable. However, conformity does not have a significant moderating effect.
Strategic Innovation in Waqf Management: A Case Study of Muhammadiyah Association in Palembang City
This study aims to examine the strategies implemented by the Muhammadiyah Association of Palembang City to enhance the welfare benefits of waqf. This is a field study employing a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the waqf assets managed by Muhammadiyah in Palembang City primarily consist of land and buildings, which are generally utilized for educational, religious, health, and social facilities. Additionally, there is significant potential for cash waqf, estimated to reach approximately IDR 1.6 billion per year. To ensure that waqf management by Muhammadiyah Palembang City contributes effectively to public welfare, as stipulated in Law No. 42 of 2004 concerning waqf, several strategic shifts are necessary. First, a paradigm shift is required from a traditional to a contemporary waqf management model. Second, the professionalism of the nazir (waqf managers) must be enhanced. Third, innovative approaches to productive waqf programs should be pursued, including the management of neglected waqf assets, the development of existing assets, and the establishment of new waqf initiatives. Fourth, the management of cash waqf must be optimized. Fifth, waqf administration needs to be systematically structured
Integrating Waqf and Blue Economy for Sustainable Development in Indonesia: an Analytic Network Process (ANP) Approach
Waqf is a potential Islamic economic instrument to support sustainable development, while the blue economy offers a welfare-based marine conservation approach. This study aims to integrate both as a development strategy in Indonesia using the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method to systematically determine policy priorities. The data for this study were obtained from nine experts comprising regulators, academics, and practitioners who were selected based on their competence and understanding of strategic issues in waqf management. The results of the analysis show that low nazhir capacity, limited data, and minimal business innovation are the main obstacles. Priority solutions identified include strengthening sectoral policies, improving human resource competencies, and developing waqf business models. The most superior strategies are based on data, research, and technology. These findings indicate that the integration of waqf and the blue economy can be an innovative approach in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, by encouraging cross-sector collaboration and value-based policies. This study contributes to the integrative literature and can be a reference in formulating waqf-based sustainable maritime development policie

Mahabbah in Sufism as the Foundation of Humanity and Faith to Realize Muslim Social Resilience
Humanity is a complex issue in life due to the problem of positioning the relationship between social values and faith. This qualitative study, with a literature review, examines how social resilience is strengthened by both social values and faith, and how mahabbah integrates these two. The results show that mahabbah plays a foundational role in uniting the dimensions of humanity and faith; Divine love encourages Muslims to demonstrate empathy, justice, and respect for human dignity in social interactions. Humanity is an outward expression of authentic faith, and social resilience is solidified when these spiritual values are embodied in inclusive, compassionate, and mutually reinforcing social relationships. This study underscores the relevance of the mahabbah as a spiritual framework for maintaining harmony and social resilience in the current global context. Through the internalization of mahabbah, religion is seen as a bridge of brotherhood that transcends differences to realize universal human dignity.
Development of Interaction Value in Boranan Dance as a Method to Reduce Academic Procrastination of Mahasantri
Development of Interaction Value in Boranan Dance as a Method to Reduce Academic Procrastination of Mahasantri. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of an educational counseling module based on Boranan dance values in reducing academic procrastination behavior among PPA Ibnu Katsir Jember students. The background of this study is based on the high number of academic procrastination which has an impact on decreasing achievement and learning motivation. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model to produce a valid, applicable, and contextual module product. Validation was carried out by guidance and counseling material experts, while the module trial was carried out through three group counseling sessions with 31 students. The validation results showed that the module scored 80%, was valid and feasible to use with minor revisions. The implementation of the module showed a decrease in procrastination behavior from 83% to 57%, proving the effectiveness of the local culture-based approach. The implications of this study indicate that educational counseling that integrates local wisdom values, such as persistence in the Boranan dance, is not only effective psychopedagogically, but is also able to strengthen the cultural identity of students within the framework of character education. It is recommended that this module be adapted and applied more widely in various Islamic boarding school-based educational institutions or other cultural localities as an alternative contextual and transformative intervention. Keywords: Interaction Value, Academic Procrastination; Boranan Danc
Application of Organic Fertilizer from Lamtoro Leaves (Leucaena leucocephala) in Traditional Ponds to Enhance the Growth of Vannamei Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)
One of the high-quality aquaculture products with a high market demand percentage is vannamei shrimp. The cultivation of vannamei shrimp traditionally involves spreading urea fertilizer on the soil before seeding. The use of inorganic fertilizers has drawbacks, such as high costs, which complicate shrimp cultivation, and long-term use has negative effects on soil and shrimp farming quality. Lamtoro leaves contain nitrogen, similar to urea fertilizer, and can be used as an organic fertilizer alternative in vannamei shrimp farming. The research was conducted from August to December 2024 in a shrimp pond in Pangkah Kulon village, Ujungpangkah, Gresik, East Java. This research is an experiment using a completely randomized design. Three concentrations of lamtoro leaf organic fertilizer were used, with a positive control using urea fertilizer. Each treatment was replicated three times. The organic fertilizer concentrations were 10%, 20%, and 30%. Growth observations were made over 40 days in the pond. The results showed that a 30% concentration of organic fertilizer was most effective for shrimp growth. The survival rate (SR) of shrimp in the 30% concentration was 78%, and they showed the highest average length growth of 11.62 cm. Feed efficiency at 30% concentration was also optimal, with a value of 5.29
Preferences of Waqf Projects among Indonesians
Waqf as an Islamic social finance instrument holds great potential for productive and societal development in Indonesia, given its big size of Muslim population and generous donation behavior. However, the projection of waqf collection which are currently limited to certain form of assets and programs, also creates a gap between the realization and potential of waqf that hinders it full potential. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the programs and characteristics preferred while donating in waqf to fully understand the determinants of waqf interest in each program. This study used a sample of 361 respondents and used multiple regression analysis with stepwise method. The results showed that social waqf is the most popular waqf program compared to social-productive (hybrid) and productive programs. Each program also has its own characteristics which need to be considered to increase the public interest. The results of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the preferences and characteristics of waqf favored by the community, in hope that waqf institutions or nazhir can establish more relevant and effective waqf collection strategies in attracting community participation and achieving broader socio economics objectives
