    No full text
As time progresses, human needs and problems become increasingly complex. Cash waqf presents a strategic solution to these challenges, particularly in Indonesia, where the practice is relatively new. The rapid development of cash waqf in Indonesia is expected to contribute to improving the nation's welfare. Currently, many problems remain, such as the difficulty of accessing education for children in remote or poor areas, and the lack of adequate school facilities and infrastructure. The Indonesian economy also faces challenges such as low growth, high poverty, unemployment, and food issues. Cash waqf has significant potential to address these issues if managed optimally. This qualitative research aims to examine the development of cash waqf in Indonesia and its role in advancing education and the economy. The study results show that cash waqf became widely known in Indonesia following the 2012 fatwa from the National Sharia Council (DSN MUI), and its popularity continues to grow. In the field of education, cash waqf plays a significant role through material support for the advancement of educational institutions. In the economic sector, cash waqf has proven vital for reducing poverty, empowering the community's economy, and providing business capital for MSMEs

    No full text
The decline in domestic soybean production has increased Indonesia’s dependence on imports, creating the need to explore local non-soy raw materials to support sustainable food security. This study aims to formulate and analyze non-soy tempeh as an alternative to soybean tempeh and to examine its potential as a contextual learning resource in science education on the topic of nutrition, while considering the halalan thayyiban concept. The research was conducted in two stages: formulation of non-soy tempeh, proximate analysis of rain tree seed tempeh, and a literature review on the nutritional content of various types of non-soy tempeh and their potential as science learning resources aligned with halalan thayyiban principles. The results show that each type of non-soy tempeh has distinct nutritional characteristics and potential as a protein-rich fermented food alternative to soybean tempeh. From the halalan thayyiban perspective, the production process emphasizes nutritional value, cleanliness, safety, and compliance with halal food principles. The use of local ingredients also promotes independence and strengthens food security. In conclusion, non-soy tempeh is a nutritious and halalan thayyiban-compliant food that has potential as a contextual learning resource in science education

    Get PDF
This study analyzes Masnun Tahir’s thoughts on Nationalist fiqh as a solution to the challenges of pluralism, intolerance, and radicalism in Indonesia. Masnun Tahir proposes a paradigm of Nationalist fiqh that integrates Islamic values with the multicultural context of Indonesian nationhood. The study employs Jurgen Habermas’s Critical Hermeneutics theory as an analytical framework to explore the transformative dimensions of this thought, encompassing interfaith dialogue, education, and the strategic role of religious scholars (ulama) in fostering social harmony. Using a library research methodology and textual analysis, this research examines Masnun Tahir’s works and the relevance of his ideas in the social context. The findings indicate that Masnun Tahir’s Nationalist fiqh offers a comprehensive approach that balances Islamic teachings with national values, positioning pluralism as a strength to enhance unity. This paradigm encourages the application of contextual Islamic law that respects local values and aligns with societal needs. Interfaith dialogue emerges as a central pillar of this paradigm, functioning as a tool to strengthen social integration and minimize conflicts arising from differences in belief. Education based on Nationalist fiqh is also identified as a key element in shaping a tolerant and patriotic generation. The analysis reveals that the paradigm of Nationalist fiqh is not merely normative but also transformative, providing practical solutions to the challenges of intolerance and radicalism. However, its implementation faces obstacles, including social resistance and the need for cross-sectoral support. With inclusive and sustainable strategies, Nationalist fiqh holds significant potential as an instrument for inclusive social transformation in Indonesia. This study contributes to the enrichment of theoretical discourse and offers a new perspective on bridging religion and nationhood in the Indonesian context

Re-Mapping Integrative Competencies at IAIN Kediri: An al-Ghazali Critique

    No full text
This study critically evaluates the concept of integration within Islamic knowledge to formulate a model of integrative competencies for students at IAIN Kediri, using al-Ghazali’s epistemology as a critical instrument. This study applies al-Ghazali’s integrative epistemology to develop student competencies as agents of knowledge integration within Islamic higher education, formulated through learning design and curriculum implementation. Using a qualitative approach, the research draws on primary sources from al-Ghazali’s works, particularly Ihya’ Ulum al-Din, and secondary data from IAIN Kediri’s institutional documents as well as interviews with the academic community of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da’wah (FUDA). The findings reveal that FUDA students’ intellectual tradition remains predominantly orthodox and value-oriented, indicating that epistemic integration between religious and modern sciences has yet to be fully achieved. The application of al-Ghazali’s epistemology within the curriculum leads to an integrative competence development model encompassing three dimensions: intellectual-transcendental (mastery of both religious and scientific knowledge in learning outcomes), social-ethical (the practical application of knowledge for public benefit as reflected in course outputs), and moral-axiological (the formation of character and social responsibility through student community engagement). Al-Ghazali’s integrative framework introduces a new paradigm in the design of integrative curricula, in which both religious and general education are grounded in the concept of living tauhidi (monotheism), the belief in God as the ultimate source of knowledge, supported by three integrative pillars: revelation, ethics, and social engagement. This foundation is contextualized within modern pedagogical goals, materials, and methods that are responsive to contemporary educational challenges

Reinventing Tradition: Hybrid Governance and the Transformation of Adat Institutions in Langsa Villages through an Islamic Political Perspective

    No full text
This article examines the transformation of traditional institutions in Aceh within the context of the post-conflict revival of adat-based village governance and the implementation of special autonomy. The main focus is to understand how traditional institutions are incorporated into modern governance systems, and to what extent they are able to maintain their symbolic authority and capacity for social mobilization amid the expansion of village bureaucracy. This research employs a qualitative method, conducted in two villages in Langsa City, namely Gampong Kuala Langsa and Gampong Meurandeh Dayah. The findings show that adat norms and bureaucratic logic coexist in village governance, but their relationship is not always harmonious. While village officials work within the framework of state regulations, adat institutions continue to play a vital role in social life, including conflict resolution, religious activities, and collective rituals. This demonstrates that adat institutions persist not only as symbolic traditions but also as active actors in shaping hybrid forms of local governance. These findings reaffirm the importance of understanding the state as a socially constructed entity, embedded in practices and symbols that remain vibrant at the local level

    No full text
This study aims to comprehensively analyse the implementation of an integrative-contextual curriculum management in maintaining the existence of Manbaul ‘Alaa Islmaic Boarding School as an Islamic educational institution oriented towards the formation of spiritual, moral, and intellectual intelligence of students amid the dynamics of socio-global change. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach involving observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, the study identifies strategies for aligning the national and Diniyah curricula, incorporating Islamic values into general learning, and cultivating an academic culture reflective of contemporary boarding schools. The results demonstrate the successful implementation of vision-based curriculum planning, collaborative learning supervision, and teacher capacity building to manage integrative learning that emphasises character, manners, and modern literacy. Supporting factors include visionary leadership, religious culture, and community partnerships, while obstacles include limited availability of integrative teachers, adapting educational technology, and the burden of a dual curriculum. This research’s original contribution lies in mapping an integrative-contextual curriculum management model based on Islamic values, which is relevant to 21st-century needs, and which has been developed through a grounded approach to educational practices in modern Islamic boarding schools. This model can serve as a reference for other Islamic boarding schools when designing a curriculum system that balances general knowledge and Islamic scholarship while preserving cultural identity. The research also provides practical recommendations in the form of mechanisms for improving the competence of integrative teachers, a character- and global competency-based framework for evaluating curricula, and a plan to strengthen modern Islamic boarding schools’ social and digital collaboration to enhance institutional competitiveness. Therefore, an integrative-contextual curriculum management approach is valuable tool for maintaining the continuity, legitimacy, and sustainability of modern Islamic educational institutions during a period of educational transformation. Keywords: Curriculum Management, Integrative-Contextual, Modern Islamic Boarding School, Islamic Education, Existenc

The Influence of Zakat, Infak & Sedekah (ZIS) and Sukuk on Economic Growth

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the short-term and long-term effects of the distribution of Zakat, Infaq, and Sedekah (ZIS) funds and sukuk on economic growth in Indonesia. The results show that ZIS has a significant negative effect on economic growth in the long term and no effect in the short term. This finding indicates that the distribution of ZIS funds is still consumptive rather than productive. Conversely, sukuk has a significant positive effect in both the short and long term on economic growth, indicating that sukuk plays a significant role in financing productive sectors such as infrastructure and public development. These results emphasize the importance of optimizing the distribution of ZIS funds for productive activities and strengthening the use of sukuk as a sharia financing instrument to support sustainable economic growth in Indonesia
