Policy Model for Zakat Management in Batang Regency: Analysis and Implementation
This research examines the zakat management policy model in Batang Regency with a focus on existing system analysis and its implementation. This study is motivated by several cases of zakat fund misappropriation by employees, indicating weaknesses in the supervision and management systems. BAZNAS in Batang Regency as a non governmental institution currently relies on the SIMBA system (Zakat Bazis Management System) and has not implemented PSAK No. 109 as the zakat accounting standard. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results show that zakat management in Batang Regency requires a policy model reform that emphasizes transparency, accountability, and professionalism. This research recommends the adoption of PSAK No. 109 as a zakat accounting standard, strengthening internal and external monitoring systems, and modernizing the management information system to prevent misappropriation and increase public trust. The implementation of the proposed policy model is expected to improve the effectiveness of zakat management and maximize the socio-economic impact of zakat funds collected in Batang Regency
Pandangan Politik Luar Negeri Arab Saudi terhadap Genosida Israel atas Palestina Tahun 2023
Genosida tidak seharusnya dilakukan oleh negara manapun. Genosida tidak saja menghilangkan nyawa manusia secara massif, tapi juga krisis kemanusiaan kompleks. Demikian genosida yang dialami bangsa Palestina oleh Israel. Apa yang berlangsung di Palestina sejak Okotober 2023 tersebut mengundang reaksi dunia internasional, termasuk Arab Saudi. Hal tersebut mendorong penulis untuk mengkaji politik luar negeri Arab Saudi terhadap genosida Israel terhadap Palestina. Mengacu pada pernyataan di atas, rumusan masalah yang diangkat yaitu Bagaimana Politik Luar Negeri Arab Saudi terhadap genosida Israel atas Palestina terutama sejak Tufan Al Aqsha 2023? Untuk menjawab rumusan masalah tersebut penulis menggunakan teori politik luar negeri dari John Lovell. Penulis memilih metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur yang bersumber dari buku, jurnal atau bacaan lainnya yang relevan dan otoritatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian Arab Saudi memiliki kepentingan Saudi Vision 2030 serta sebagai wajah negara Muslim dari Timur Tengah dan sekutu Amerika Serikat mencoba untuk menjadi pemimpin pengambil keputusan dengan sangat bijaksana dan hati-hati. Bahwa sikap politik luar negeri Arab Saudi terhadap persoalan di Palestina sangat berkaitan dengan Saudi Vision 2030
Tata Kelola Pemerintahan dan Pelayanan Publik di Masa Umar bin Khattab (634-644) M
Era kekuasaan Islam pada masa khalifah Umar bin Khattab, (634-644) M, membentang luas dari Semenanjung Arabia, Irak, Syam, hingga Mesir dan Afrika Utara. Untuk mengelola daerah kekuasaan yang sedemikian luas, dibutuhkan tata kelola administrasi dan pola hubungan antara pemerintah pusat dan daerah yang dapat menjamin integrasi kekuasaan Pemerintahan Islam atas wilayah wilayah penaklukan. Untuk menjaga integrasi kekuasaan tersebut, Umar bin Khattab menerapkan model pemerintahan tersentralisir dimana kendali kekuasaan secara langsung berada di tangan khalifah di Madinah. Artikel ini hendak menguji sebuah premis bahwa pembangunan politik dan penyediaan layanan publik tidak selalu identik dengan demokrasi dan desentralisasi, sebagaimana tesis Francis Fukuyama tentang penyediaan pelayanan dan barang publik di negara-bangsa modern yang non demokratis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif murni dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui pendekatan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun menerapkan pemusataan kekuasaan di Madinah yang notabenenya dilakukan dengan tangan besi, namun pemerintahan Umar dapat menyelenggarakan sebuah model tata kelola administrasi yang didesain untuk memberikan pelayanan publik di daerah. Para birokrat yang ditugaskan di berbagai Provinsi tidak diberikan kewenangan politik untuk mengelola kekuasaan, sehingga lebih fokus untuk menjalankan tugas perluasan wilayah serta melaksanakan tata kelola administratif dan pelayanan publik di daerah.
Students’ Perceived Benefits and Challenges on the Integration of Digital Tools into Undergraduate Thesis Writing in Islamic Higher Education
This study examines the role of digital tools in fostering undergraduate students' thesis writing process. While digital tools are now widely applied in academia, limited studies have focused on how these tools impact the quality of students' theses and the challenges they encounter. The qualitative case study design involving 7th-semester students from the English Education Department at an Islamic higher education institution in Ponorogo was employed to explore their perceptions of digital tools through questionnaires, observations, and in-depth interviews. The findings indicated that students use various digital tools, including word processors, reference management software, and data analysis programs. The result of thematic analysis revealed that students perceived digital tools to facilitate the quality, effectiveness, organization of thesis work, and motivation. Although some students faced technical difficulties, unfamiliarity with advanced software features, and resource constraints, they believed learning with digital tools positively influenced their academic performance. The study contributes valuable insights for educators and institutions, informing strategies to optimize the use of digital tools in thesis writing
Breaking Barriers in English Writing: Pedagogical Shifts under the Merdeka Curriculum in Vocational Education
This research aims to explore the implementation of English writing teaching within the curriculum framework of Merdeka Curriculum at Indonesian vocational high schools, focusing on understanding, classroom practice, and challenges faced by teachers in implementing project-based, student-centered principles. Adopting a concurrent, transformative mixed-methods design, data were obtained from thirteen English teachers in Malang, East Java, through qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys to reveal their perceptions and practices. The results indicate that a gap between the intended flexible curriculum, centered on differentiated instruction, student choice, and active engagement, and what is actually happening in classrooms has continued to persist. Instructors have a partial understanding of such pedagogical facts. However, the practice is suppressed by students' varying writing proficiency levels, scarce learning materials, inadequate professional training, and limited support from the school. Merdeka Curriculum: a source of hope. Nevertheless, as much as Merdeka Curriculum offers an inspiring vision of pedagogical transformation. Structurally, there are impediments to its effective realization in the world of vocational education. Continued systemic support and increased pedagogical alignment are necessary to achieve a more meaningful curricular change. Empowering teacher initiative, developing teacher collaboration, and providing continuous professional development are essential to improve writing instruction in trade or technical schools. The study provides policymakers, administrators, and curriculum developers with the knowledge to simplify support systems, enabling English teachers to implement Merdeka Curriculum in the writing classroom fully
A Meta-thematic Synthesis of Problem Posing as an Instructional Approach in Mathematics Education
Problem posing has garnered increasing attention from mathematics education researchers due to its positive impact on students' learning outcomes. However, the extent of these outcomes has not been comprehensively synthesized. Therefore, this study conducted a meta-thematic synthesis to consolidate qualitative evidence on the impacts of the problem-posing approach on students’ learning and their experiences during its implementation. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework, a systematic search of literature published between 2010 and 2024 was conducted through Google Scholar. From 207 studies screened, 16 met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed through a meta-thematic synthesis. Findings revealed that the effects of problem posing on students' learning in mathematics can be categorized into cognitive and socio-emotional effects. Cognitive effects include positive changes in problem-solving, creative thinking, mathematical understanding, and argumentation skills. The socio-emotional domain includes the development of productive beliefs, positive mindsets, and affective engagement in learning. Furthermore, two overarching themes emerged regarding students’ engagement with problem-posing tasks: (1) strategies for participating in problem-posing activities, and (2) perceptions of the instructional approach itself. The results affirm that the problem-posing approach contributes to holistic student development by simultaneously fostering cognitive growth and nurturing positive learning dispositions. The findings suggest that integrating the problem-posing approach in the classroom is a sound pedagogy to promote holistic student development. Pendekatan pemecahan masalah telah menarik perhatian yang semakin besar dari para peneliti pendidikan matematika karena dampaknya yang positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Namun, sejauh mana dampak tersebut belum disintesis secara komprehensif. Oleh karena itu, studi ini melakukan sintesis meta-tematik untuk mengkonsolidasikan bukti kualitatif mengenai dampak pendekatan pemecahan masalah terhadap pembelajaran siswa dan pengalaman mereka selama implementasinya. Mengikuti kerangka kerja Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA), dilakukan pencarian sistematis terhadap literatur yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2010 dan 2024 melalui Google Scholar. Dari 207 studi yang disaring, 16 memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan dianalisis melalui sintesis meta-tematik. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa dampak pendekatan pemecahan masalah terhadap pembelajaran matematika siswa dapat dikategorikan menjadi dampak kognitif dan sosial-emosional. Dampak kognitif meliputi perubahan positif dalam pemecahan masalah, berpikir kreatif, pemahaman matematika, dan keterampilan berargumen. Domain sosial-emosional meliputi pengembangan keyakinan produktif, mindset positif, dan keterlibatan afektif dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, dua tema utama muncul terkait keterlibatan siswa dalam tugas-tugas pemecahan masalah: (1) strategi untuk berpartisipasi dalam aktivitas pemecahan masalah, dan (2) persepsi terhadap pendekatan instruksional itu sendiri. Hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa pendekatan pemecahan masalah berkontribusi pada perkembangan holistik siswa dengan sekaligus mendorong pertumbuhan kognitif dan menumbuhkan disposisi belajar yang positif. Temuan ini menyarankan bahwa mengintegrasikan pendekatan pemecahan masalah di kelas merupakan pendekatan pedagogis yang efektif untuk mempromosikan perkembangan holistik siswa
Developing Mathematic Learning Devices Oriented Problem Based Learning to improve Students' High Order Thinking Skill
Students demonstrate low proficiency in answering HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions, indicating the need for a learning model that aligns with the nature and demands of such questions. One such suitable model is Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which serves as a relevant and applicable approach for the current curriculum. This study aims to develop a mathematics learning tool based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). This research employed the 4D Model in the research and development (R&D) approach, encompassing the stage of define, design, develop, and dissemination. The sampling used a purposive sampling technique, namely 22 students of SMP Plus Darussalam Blokagung Banyuwangi. The expert validation results showed that the lesson plan (RPP) achieved an average score of 92.2%, placing it in the "highly valid" category. The learning tool's practicality earned an average of 95.4% (very practical), whereas the student worksheet's (LKS) validation yielded 90.4% (extremely viable). During the dissemination stage, the effectiveness was measured using the N-Gain method. Data were collected through test designs to measure HOTS. Using essay questions in pre-test and post-test that focused on the HOTS indicators: analysis, evaluation, and creation. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' HOTS with an average score of 0.915a (High category) for analysis, 0.675 (medium category) for evaluation, and 0.54 (low category) for creation. These findings indicated that the problem-based learning tool effectively enhances students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaiakan soal soal HOTS masih sangat rendah sehingga dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan ciri ciri soal HOTS. Salah satunya adalah model pembelajaran PBL mampu menjadi pendekatan yang relevan dan aplikatif untuk kurikulum saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangan Perangkat pembelajaran Matematika model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS). Penelitian ini menggunakan Model 4D dalam pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang mencakup define, design, develop, and dissemination. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposif sampling yaitu 22 siswa SMP Plus Darussalam Blokagung Banyuwangi. Hasil Validasi oleh Ahli memperoleh rata-rata RPP 92,2% (kategori sangat Valid), dan validasi LKS memperoleh 90,4% (Kategori sangat layak), sedangkan dalam kepraktisan perangkat mendapatkan ra-rata 95,4% (kategori sangat praktis). Pada tahap dessiminasi untuk mengukur keefektifitasnya menggunakan metode N-Gain. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes yang mengukur HOTS. Menggunakan soal esai dalam pre-test dan post-test, indikator HOTS—analisis, evaluasi, dan kreasi. Menghasilkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam HOTS siswa dengan skor rata-rata 0,915 (menganalisis) kategori tinggi, 0,675 (mengevaluasi) kategori menengah, dan 0,54 (mengkreasi) kategori rendah, sehingga menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis problem based learning yang dihasilkan secara efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir tingkat tinggi siswa (HOTS).
Kerja-Kerja Pendisiplinan Oleh Guru Agama Islam di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan: Best Practice di SMK Negeri 1 Pemangkat
This study explores the role of Islamic religious teachers in cultivating a culture of discipline grounded in Islamic values at SMK Negeri 1 Pemangkat, Sambas Regency. Discipline is understood not merely as the enforcement of rules, but as the shaping of “docile bodies” through pedagogical mechanisms, systematic training, and the internalization of values. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, the research collected data through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, applying Miles and Huberman’s interactive model for analysis. The study is framed by Michel Foucault’s concept of disciplinary bodies—entities that are regulated, transformed, and refined through spatial organization, temporal regulation, hierarchical surveillance, and normalization. The findings reveal that Islamic religious teachers fulfill multiple roles: instructor, educator, classroom manager, mentor, guardian of disciplinary culture, and moral exemplar. Strategies employed include daily habituation, structured training programs (e.g., LDDK), personalized communication, and systematic supervision and evaluation. Contributing factors comprise students’ self-awareness, active parental involvement, positive peer models, and collaborative engagement between the school and the wider community. Challenges include limited discipline awareness, insufficient parental oversight, and adverse peer or environmental influences. The study demonstrates that Islamic education fosters disciplined character not through coercion, but via structured regulation, internalization, and exemplary leadership, offering a Foucauldian lens to inform more contextually grounded character education strategies in vocational school settings.This paper generally aims to explore the importance of the functional roles of Islamic religious teachers in disciplining students at Vocational High Schools (SMK), as well as to unveil the supporting and inhibiting factors related to these functional works. The best practice is illustrated through the case of SMK Negeri 1 Pemangkat. This study is the result of descriptive qualitative research, where data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The analysis employs an interactive analysis approach following the procedures set by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014). Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that: first, the importance of the teacher's role in disciplining students at SMKN 1 Pemangkat can be seen in their functional roles as educators, instructors, classroom managers, demonstrators, mentors, preservers of school discipline culture, and role models. In this regard, the Islamic religious teachers at SMKN 1 Pemangkat carry out habituation, training, approaches, and effective communication with students regarding discipline. Second, the factors supporting Islamic religious teachers at SMKN 1 Pemangkat in implementing a culture of discipline include self-awareness, parental involvement, active roles of teachers, and cooperation among the principal, teachers, parents/guardians, and the community, particularly in activities such as LDDK (Basic Discipline Training). Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include a lack of self-awareness, insufficient parental involvement, and the social environment surrounding the students
Strategi Komunikasi Dakwah Tanpa Menampakkan Wajah pada Akun Instagram Ustadzah @halimahalaydrus
Di era digital saat ini, penyebaran informasi tentang komunikasi Islam melalui media turut memainkan peran signifikan dalam mencapai tujuan dakwah di tingkat global. Tujuan studi ini agar mengetahui cara ustadzah Halimah alaydrus yan dikenal sebaga penceramah yang tidak menampakkan wajahnya, beliau berinteraksi melalui komunikasi dakwahnya di Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualiatif yakni analisis data. Teori pokok dari studi ini yaitu interaksi komunikasi dakwah. Bahan observasi diperoleh dengan sistem dokumentasi. Reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi menjadi tahap dari menganalisis data penelitian ini. Kajian ini menarik kesimpulan bahwa komunikasi tidak harus bertatap wajah sekalipun lewat online, tetapi bisa dengan menggunakan penghayatan nada suara yang lembut dan sesuai konteks supaya komunikan paham dengan apa yang disampaikan komunikator. Temuan studi ini menegaskan berbagai cara interaksi komunikasi yang bisa dilakukan melalui media sosial Instagram. The Impact of the Distribution of Zakat Funds on Poverty Alleviation in Indonesia
Abstract: Poverty is still a major problem in Indonesia, therefore an effective and comprehensive strategy is needed. Zakat is considered to be able to overcome the problem of poverty because it directly involves the structure of the community. This study aims to empirically investigate the impact of zakat distribution on poverty alleviation both in quantity and quality by using the BAZNAS Welfare Index (IKB) of 8 provinces that have the highest percentage of poor people in Indonesia. This research uses panel data method with REM analysis. The result of this study is that the distribution of zakat funds has a significant effect on reducing the number of poor people (P0). A panel data approach with REM analysis is used in this study. This study's conclusion is that there are much fewer impoverished individuals (P0) as a result of the distribution of zakat payments. But, at the provincial level, zakat (IKB) has no discernible impact on the degree of poverty depth (P1) or poverty severity (P2).l
