    Strengthening Eco-Theology and Developing Eco-Islamic Boarding Schools at KINARA Islamic Boarding School, Kuningan, West Java

    Educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools have a strategic role in fostering environmentally conscious characters as an effort to address environmental issues, one of the activities is developing the concept of Eco-Islamic boarding schools. KINARA Islamic Boarding School has adapted a nature school but has not yet been integrated with Eco-Islamic boarding schools. This study aimed to analyze the potential of KINARA Islamic Boarding School in developing Eco-Islamic boarding schools, analyze learning and implementation of eco-theology, and formulate strategies for developing Eco-Islamic boarding schools. SWOT analysis used to determine the strategy of combining internal and external factors at KINARA Islamic Boarding School, followed by determining priority strategies using AHP analysis. The results showed that KINARA Islamic Boarding School has an Eco-Islamic Boarding School score of 72% based on 10 Eco-Islamic Boarding School Programs. It means that the factors in KINARA Islamic Boarding School are sufficient to support the development of Eco-Islamic Boarding Schools. KINARA Islamic Boarding School has the potential to develop an eco-Islamic Boarding School, with its main priority strategy being strengthening the environmental education curriculum, especially eco-theology, by integrating all learning with environmental education, with an AHP assessment value of 0.4

    This study examined the social dynamics of Smart Class Initiative (SCI) students within a pesantren-based education system at SMA Unggulan Haf-Sa Zainul Hasan BPPT Genggong Probolinggo. Drawing on Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences and the Indonesian Ministry of Education Regulation No. 12/2024 on gifted education, the research addressed common social challenges among excellent students, such as feelings of alienation and reduced peer interaction. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observations at school and dormitory settings, and literature reviews. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model and Johnny Saldana’s coding techniques. The findings revealed that SCI services did not create social gaps between SCI and regular students. Pesantren activities have encouraged active social engagement manifested through academic collaboration and mutual support. From Alfred Adler’s perspective, regular students’ feelings of inferiority stimulated positive social compensation reinforced by Islamic ukhuwah, resulting in an inclusive environment. The study highlighted the pesantren’s role as a mediator that has prevented introversion among excellent students. However, its single-site focus limits generalization, indicating the need for future comparative research.Howard Gardner mengidentifikasi ada sembilan jenis kecerdasan yang menunjukan bahwa setiap anak memiliki cara unik dalam belajar dan berinteraksi dengan dunia. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan perlu disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan potensi masing-masing peserta didik agar mereka dapat berkembang secara optimal. Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan teknologi No. 12 Tahun 2024 juga berperan dalam pengembangan pendidikan bagi anak cerdas Istimewa. Meskipun adanya kebijakan yang mendukung, Siswa Cerdas Istimewa (SCI) sering menghadapi tantangan dari sisi sosiologi terutama dalam hal norma dan struktur sosial di lingkungan sekolah. Peserta didik dengan kemampuan tinggi sering kali merasa terasing dari teman sebaya yang dapat mengakibatkan kurangnya interaksi sosial dan dukungan emosional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis pendekatan Studi Kasus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah peserta didik akselerasi tetap “introvert” dengan sistem pendidikan berbasis pesantren. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi literatur. Proses analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah dengan menggunakan model Johnny Saldana, Miles dan Huberman yakni melalui proses kondensasi data, penyajian data, penarikan simpulan serta triangulasi. Hasil dari peneilitian ini menunjukan bahwa implementasi Layanan Siswa Cerdas Istimewa atau Akselerasi tidak menimbulkan kesenjangan interaksi sosial antara peserta didik Cerdas Istimewa dengan peserta didik reguler. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya pondok pesantren sebagai lingkungan pendidikan yang menyatukan seluruh peserta didik

    Seyyed Hossein Nasr's Criticism of Modernist and Orientalist Interpretive Approaches

    In contemporary Qur’anic studies, modernist and orientalist approaches have become increasingly influential. These two approaches offer new frameworks for understanding the Qur’an but often separate the sacred text from its spiritual and metaphysical roots. The modernist perspective emphasizes reason, historical context, and linguistic analysis, while the orientalist view relies on philological and historical-critical methods developed within secular academic traditions. As a result, both tend to reduce the Qur’an to a cultural or historical artifact rather than preserving its role as divine revelation. This study aims to examine the critical perspective of Seyyed Hossein Nasr on these two interpretive trends and to explore the alternative hermeneutical framework he proposes. The research applies a qualitative method using literature review and textual analysis of Nasr’s major writings. The findings reveal that Nasr strongly criticizes both approaches for neglecting the spiritual dimension of the Qur’an. He argues that understanding the Qur’an requires a return to sacred and traditional interpretation methods that emphasize inner spiritual meaning. Nasr promotes a hermeneutic approach that integrates reason, intuition, and spiritual insight, allowing for a more holistic understanding of revelation. He also underscores the role of traditional scholars and spiritual authorities in maintaining the integrity of Qur’anic meaning. The study concludes that Nasr’s alternative framework offers a meaningful response to the limitations of modernist and orientalist interpretations. By restoring the balance between textual analysis and spiritual depth, his approach contributes significantly to enriching Qur’anic hermeneutics. It encourages future scholarship to reengage with the sacred aspects of revelation in ways that are both intellectually rigorous and spiritually grounded. Dalam studi Al-Qur’an kontemporer, pendekatan modernis dan orientalis telah menjadi dua aliran yang semakin berpengaruh. Kedua pendekatan ini menawarkan kerangka baru dalam memahami Al-Qur’an, namun sering kali memisahkan teks suci dari akar spiritual dan metafisiknya. Perspektif modernis menekankan rasionalitas, konteks sejarah, dan analisis linguistik, sementara pendekatan orientalis bergantung pada metode filologis dan historis-kritis yang berkembang dalam tradisi akademik sekuler. Akibatnya, Al-Qur’an cenderung dipandang sebagai artefak budaya atau sejarah, bukan sebagai wahyu ilahi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pandangan kritis Seyyed Hossein Nasr terhadap kedua pendekatan tersebut, sekaligus mengeksplorasi kerangka hermeneutika alternatif yang ia tawarkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, melalui studi pustaka dan analisis teks terhadap karya-karya utama Nasr. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Nasr secara tegas mengkritik pendekatan modernis dan orientalis karena mengabaikan dimensi spiritual dalam memahami Al-Qur’an. Ia menekankan pentingnya kembali pada metode tafsir yang sakral dan tradisional, yang berfokus pada makna batin dan pengalaman spiritual. Pendekatan yang ia ajukan menggabungkan akal, intuisi, dan wawasan spiritual, serta menekankan peran ulama dan otoritas spiritual dalam menjaga kemurnian makna wahyu. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kerangka alternatif yang ditawarkan Nasr menjadi respon bermakna terhadap keterbatasan penafsiran modernis dan orientalis. Dengan menyeimbangkan analisis teks dan kedalaman spiritual, pendekatan ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan hermeneutika Al-Qur’an, serta mendorong studi-studi masa depan untuk kembali mengaitkan pemahaman wahyu dengan dimensi kesakralan yang mendalam

    An Empirical Study on the Drivers of Sustainable Consumption Among Muslim Generation Z: The Role of Islamic Values

    This study investigates the influence of Green Marketing Practices (GMP), Environmental Issues (EI), and Green Consumer Identification (CI) on Consumer Sustainable Behavior (CSB) among Muslim Generation Z, proposing Islamic Values (ISV) as a mediating factor. While previous research on this demographic suggests that traditional green marketing and environmental concern may not effectively translate into sustainable action, a gap remains in understanding the role of religious ethics as a bridge to behavior. Using a quantitative design, Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied to survey data collected from 268 Muslim Gen Z respondents in Central Java Province, Indonesia, to test the direct and indirect structural relationships. The results established that GMP directly promotes CSB and significantly strengthens ISV. Crucially, ISV emerged as a strong positive predictor of CSB confirming its significant mediating role and highlighting the importance of religion-based values in translating stimuli into action. Conversely, EI and CI did not directly influence CSB, nor did CI significantly affect ISV. This underscores the central role of Islamic values as a primary driver of sustainable consumption in this cultural context. The findings extend sustainability marketing theory by centering religious values in consumer decision-making and practically suggest that campaigns should align with Islamic ethical teachings to effectively translate marketing and awareness into concrete sustainable consumer behavior

    Analysis Of Trimatra Fine Arts Implementation: Project Based In Inclusive Early Childhood Education

    The implementation of trimatra art learning in Early Childhood Education (ECE) has significant benefits for supporting child development, including stimulating motor skills, enhancing focus, and optimizing creativity. However, despite its advantages, the implementation of art education also encounters challenges that impact the achievement of learning objectives. This study explores the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PBL) methods in trimatra art for young children in Groups A and B at KB Inklusi Talenta, Kudus. This research employs a descriptive qualitative methodology, with a sample consisting of 20 children and 5 teachers from diverse backgrounds and varying special conditions. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews with teachers, and documentation. The focus of the study is on how this method can be adapted to meet the needs of children with differing abilities and how it influences their engagement and learning outcomes. Challenges encountered include classroom management, project planning, and limited resources. The aim of this study is to identify the inhibiting factors in the implementation of project-based art learning and to provide recommendations for addressing these issues, facilitating broader adoption in inclusive ECE settings. Project-based learning in trimatra art activities has been shown to enhance children’s engagement and provide more meaningful learning experiences, making it an appealing approach in the context of inclusive education

    Penelitian ini membahas pengaruh kredibilitas influencer termasuk daya tarik, kepercayaan, dan keahlian terhadap niat beli online produk perawatan kecantikan halal, dengan mempertimbangkan citra merek dan hubungan parasosial sebagai mediator. Fokus penelitian adalah konsumen di Kabupaten Kudus, daerah dengan mayoritas populasi Muslim. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan analisis Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ketiga dimensi kredibilitas influencer berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap citra merek dan hubungan parasosial, yang pada gilirannya meningkatkan niat beli online. Citra merek dan hubungan parasosial terbukti memperkuat pengaruh tidak langsung kredibilitas influencer terhadap niat beli. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya strategi pemasaran digital yang memanfaatkan kredibilitas influencer serta penguatan citra merek untuk membangun kedekatan emosional dengan konsumen dan mendorong keputusan pembelian produk kecantikan halal secara online

    Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh motivasi organisasi terhadap perubahan organisasi, dengan studi kasus perubahan status dari IAIN Purwokerto menjadi UIN Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri (UIN SAIZU) Purwokerto. Perubahan tersebut meliputi transformasi kelembagaan, sistem, manajemen, struktur dan kebijakan organisasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan daya saing pendidikan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui survei terhadap 175 responden, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun motivasi organisasi di UIN SAIZU tergolong sangat tinggi, namun pengaruhnya terhadap perubahan organisasi tidak signifikan. Perubahan lebih dipengaruhi oleh kebijakan pemerintah dan kepemimpinan yang efektif. Motivasi organisasi terbukti menjadi aset penting untuk mendukung keberhasilan perubahan, namun tantangan masih tetap ada, seperti adaptasi kurikulum, pengelolaan sumber daya manusia, dan peningkatan kesejahteraan. Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya kolaborasi antara motivasi individu, kepemimpinan, dan kebijakan untuk mendukung keberhasilan perubahan organisasi di sektor publik

    Regulating Polygamy in Indonesia and Egypt Toward Greater Protection of Women

    This study examines the regulation of polygamy in Indonesia-Egypt and examines the extent to which these legal frameworks align with the protection of women within contemporary Islamic family law. The issue addressed arises from the persistent vulnerability of women in polygamous marriages, who are often exposed to economic insecurity, limited legal protection, psychological distress, and social marginalization. This study employs a normative legal research method using statutory, comparative, and conceptual approaches. Legal materials are analyzed through a qualitative normative analysis of marriage laws, judicial mechanisms, and Islamic legal doctrines governing polygamy in both countries. The findings indicate that the alignment of polygamy regulations toward women’s protection can be assessed through three main dimensions: economic protection, certainty of justice, and state recognition. Indonesia adopts a preventive–administrative model by requiring court permission, proof of economic capability, and the consent of the wife prior to polygamy. In contrast, Egypt applies a remedial judicial model by allowing polygamy with fewer preconditions while providing post-marital legal remedies, particularly the right of wives to seek divorce on the grounds of harm. However, both systems remain limited in delivering substantive protection for women, as legal safeguards tend to emphasize formal compliance rather than addressing psychological and social harms. This research implies the need for polygamy law reform that moves beyond procedural legality toward substantive gender justice grounded in maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. The originality of this study lies in its integrated comparative analysis of normative, procedural, and protective dimensions of polygamy law in two Muslim-majority legal systems

    The Dilemma Between Islamic Law And Local Tradition: A Critical Analysis of Consanguineous Marriage Practices (Rampanan Kapa’) In The Tana Toraja Community

    This study explores the complex relationship between Islamic law and local tradition through a critical analysis of consanguineous marriage practices, specifically Rampanan Kapa’ Sule Langngan Banua, in the Tana Toraja community. While this tradition is deeply embedded in the region's cultural identity and serves to preserve kinship ties and inheritance structures, it raises significant concerns within the framework of Islamic legal norms, particularly those related to mahram relationships. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research collected data through in-depth interviews with Muslim community members, traditional leaders, and religious scholars in Tana Toraja. The findings reveal a deep-rooted tension between cultural continuity and religious compliance, as some community members advocate for the tradition’s preservation, while others call for its reformation in line with Islamic principles. The study argues that the practice, although normative within customary law, contravenes the prohibitions outlined in Islamic jurisprudence and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). Rather than acting as religious authorities (mufti or mufassir), this research adopts a socio-legal lens to assess the implications of consanguineous marriage in a multicultural and multi-religious setting. The study contributes to the discourse on legal pluralism and offers specific recommendations, including the integration of customary marriage education into local religious counseling programs, legal awareness campaigns for community leaders, and the formulation of local regulations (Perda) that respect cultural values while upholding Islamic legal principles

    The Values of Moderate Theology in Understanding Hadith: Insights from Indonesia

    This study aims to examine moderate theology in understanding the Prophet's hadith especially the tolerance hadith narrated by Ahmad. This article aims to reveal the phenomenon of theological studies developing in universities and Islamic boarding schools, which are centres of Islam in Indonesia. The methodology used is a case study with a qualitative approach, involving questionnaires, interviews, and documentation of students and caregivers of partner pesantren state Islamic University K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. The results showed that the understanding of the hadith of tolerance plays an important role in shaping inclusive and moderate attitudes among santri. The hadith is applied as a foundation to reject extremism, promote interfaith dialog, and support harmony in diversity. Moreover the understanding of the universality of Muhammad's message in partner pesantren strengthens religious moderation in local and global contexts. This study contributes to the phenomenon of comprehensive hadith interpretation as a moderate theological basis for Muslims
