31 anos de valor percebido no turismo e áreas correlatas
Get PDFDespite the importance of perceived value for tourism, to the best of our knowledge, there are no bibliometric or revisionary articles that sought to understand the theoretical-thematic roots of perceived value and the current paths of the construct in relation to its borders. In this sense, aiming to address this gap, we carried out a bibliometric study with co-citation and bibliographic coupling analyses. The objective, therefore, was to analyze the conceptual bases that support research on perceived value and the frontiers of current knowledge on the topic. We followed SPAR-4-SLR as a methodological protocol, a reference in revisional and bibliometric studies. Data collection was carried out on the Web of Science, restricting it to scientific articles published until 2022. Our final sample was 257 articles. We present descriptive results and graphic mappings. Our descriptive results included evolution of works per year, publications per author and publications per journal. Our graphical mappings were divided into a co-citation analysis map and a bibliographic coupling map. Among our main results, we identified 6 clusters of theoretical bases (co-citation) and 5 clusters of theoretical boundaries (bibliographic coupling). The contribution of the article lies in the organization, synthesis and analysis of the stock of knowledge of perceived value in tourism.Apesar da importância do valor percebido para o turismo, até o nosso melhor conhecimento, não há artigos bibliométricos ou revisionais que buscaram compreender as raízes teóricas-temáticas do valor percebido e as trilhas atuais do constructo em relação às suas fronteiras. Neste sentido, visando atuar neste gap, realizamos um estudo bibliométrico com análises de cocitação e de acoplamento bibliográfico. O objetivo, portanto, foi analisar as bases conceituais que sustentam as pesquisas em valor percebido e as fronteiras do conhecimento atual sobre o tema. Seguimos como protocolo metodológico o SPAR-4-SLR, referência em estudos revisionais e bibliométricos. A coleta de dados foi realizada na Web of Science restringindo a artigos científicos publicados até 2022. Nossa amostra final foi de 257 artigos. Apresentamos resultados descritivos e mapeamentos gráficos. Nossos resultados descritivos incluíram evolução de trabalhos por ano, publicações por autor e publicações por periódico. Nossos mapeamentos gráficos foram divididos em mapa de análise de cocitação e mapa de acoplamento bibliográfico. Entre nossos principais resultados, identificamos 6 clusters de bases-teóricas (cocitação) e 5 clusters de fronteiras-teóricas (acoplamento bibliográfico). Efeitos da invasão da floresta ripária por espécies do género Acacia na decomposição de folhada em ribeiros
Get PDFStreams depend on riparian forests (for example, as a source of plant detritus that sustains aquatic communities), therefore, they are susceptible to changes in the species that compose them. The riparian forests in central Portugal are threatened by invasive species, including species of the Acacia genus that have characteristics distinct from those of native species. In recent years, several studies have been carried out in streams of Serra da Lousã to understand what effects (if any) the invasion of riparian forests have on aquatic communities and processes. Here we report some results relating to the comparison of the decomposition of plant detritus in three streams in forests with native species and three streams in forests invaded by Acacia spp. Invasion can slow the microbial decomposition of plant detritus, and consequently the recycling of nutrients, mainly by altering the type of detritus entering streams (which are more recalcitrant as a result of the greater contribution of invasive species). Increased concentrations of dissolved nutrients in the water had a small stimulatory effect on detritus decomposition and the access of fragmenting macroinvertebrates mitigated differences in detritus decomposition between stream types. The effects may worsen as the extent of the invasion increases.Os ribeiros dependem da floresta ripária (e.g., como fonte de detritos vegetais que sustentam as comunidades aquáticas), pelo que são susceptíveis a alterações nas espécies que a compõem. As florestas ripárias do centro de Portugal estão ameaçadas por espécies invasoras, entre as quais espécies do género Acacia que têm características distintas daquelas das espécies nativas. Nos últimos anos foram realizados vários estudos em ribeiros da Serra da Lousã para perceber quais os efeitos (se alguns) da invasão das florestas ripárias nas comunidades e nos processos aquáticos. Aqui são reportados alguns resultados relativos à comparação da decomposição de detritos vegetais em três ribeiros em floresta de espécies nativas e três ribeiros em floresta invadida por Acacia spp. A invasão pode retardar a decomposição microbiana dos detritos vegetais, e consequentemente a reciclagem de nutrientes, principalmente por alteração do tipo de detritos que entra nos ribeiros (que são mais recalcitrantes em resultado da maior contribuição das espécies invasoras). O aumento das concentrações de nutrientes dissolvidos na água teve um pequeno efeito estimulatório da decomposição dos detritos e o acesso dos macroinvertebrados fragmentadores mitigou as diferenças na decomposição dos detritos entre tipos de ribeiros. Os efeitos podem agravar-se com o aumento da extensão da invasão
CONHECIMENTO DOCENTE SOBRE A CONSCIÊNCIA FONOLÓGICA NA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA
Get PDFPhonological awareness is an essential skill in the literacy process, as it enables children to recognize and manipulate the sounds within words, laying the necessary foundation for reading and writing. This competence begins to develop in Early Childhood Education, a crucial stage for strengthening the skills that will contribute to more consistent learning throughout school life. Teacher education plays a central role in this context, as educators who understand and know how to work with phonological awareness can significantly support the development of these abilities. This integrative review aims to analyze recent academic publications (2019–2024) that address the knowledge and pedagogical practices of Early Childhood Education teachers regarding phonological awareness, with the goal of identifying trends and highlighting weaknesses reported in initial and continuing teacher education. To achieve this, the databases CAPES Periódicos, ERIC, and SCIELO were consulted using rigorous selection criteria. The analysis was conducted from a descriptive and interpretative perspective, with attention to the limitations of the included studies, in order to contribute to the debate on teacher education and the challenges faced in teaching phonological awareness in Early Childhood Education.A consciência fonológica é uma habilidade essencial no processo de alfabetização, pois possibilita que as crianças reconheçam e manipulem os sons presentes nas palavras, construindo as bases necessárias para a leitura e a escrita. Essa competência começa a ser desenvolvida na Educação Infantil, etapa importante para o fortalecimento das habilidades que contribuirão para um aprendizado mais consistente ao longo da vida escolar. A formação docente desempenha papel central nesse contexto, visto que professores que compreendem e sabem trabalhar a consciência fonológica podem apoiar de maneira significativa o desenvolvimento dessas habilidades. Esta revisão integrativa tem como objetivo analisar publicações acadêmicas recentes (2019–2024) que abordam o conhecimento e as práticas pedagógicas de professores da Educação Infantil em relação à consciência fonológica, com o intuito de identificar tendências e apontar fragilidades relatadas na formação docente inicial e continuada. Para isso, foram consultadas as bases de dados CAPES Periódicos, ERIC e SCIELO, utilizando critérios rigorosos de seleção. A análise foi conduzida a partir de uma perspectiva descritiva e interpretativa, com atenção às limitações dos estudos incluídos, a fim de contribuir para o debate sobre a formação de professores e os desafios enfrentados no ensino da consciência fonológica na Educação Infantil

Get PDFForeign Language teaching materials are frequently published textbooks, even if those materials can’t be suited to every teaching context, meaning that it’s preferable to create authentic teaching materials, that replicate the target language use outside of the classroom. However, teaching in China is still mainly based on the traditional method, where all activities are based on a textbook. Therefore, the students of the Bachelor of Portuguese Programme at the City University of Macau were asked to answer a questionnaire, where they had to evaluate all the activities and tasks that they completed/performed througout the course (from both published materials and materials designed by the course teacher), regarding their authenticity, the motivation that they caused and how effective they were. On the following article, this questionnaire’s findings will be analysed and discussed.Os materiais didáticos para o ensino de línguas estrangeiras consistem frequentemente em manuais editados, embora estes não sejam adequados a todos os contextos de ensino, pelo que será preferível investir na criação de materiais didáticos autênticos, que replicam a utilização da língua-alvo fora da sala de aula. Porém, o ensino na China ainda se faz, em grande parte, através de uma estratégia de ensino tradicional em que todas as atividades são baseadas num manual. Assim, foi distribuído aos estudantes do Curso de Licenciatura em Português na Universidade da Cidade de Macau um questionário, em que estes foram confrontados com as atividades e tarefas (com origem em materiais editados e materiais elaborados pelo docente da mesma disciplina) que tiveram de realizar/desempenhar ao longo do curso, para que as pudessem avaliar tendo em conta a sua autenticidade, a motivação que provocam e a sua eficácia na aprendizagem. Convergência Cultural entre a Difusão da Música Ocidental no Oriente e a Migração da Música Chinesa para o Sul: A singularidade da tradição musical de Macau
Get PDFMacau was the first gateway for the diffusion of Western music in the East and, simultaneously, the meeting point for the migration of Chinese continental music to the South, being considered a place of convergence of Western and Eastern cultures. Over the 400 years since the opening of the Port of Macau, we have found, yet to be explored, many traces and records of music, both Chinese and Western, religious and secular, classical and folk. Compared to some Chinese regions with relatively recent contact with Western culture or places where there are cultural gaps due to various factors, Macau can be considered as a unique case for musical historical research, due to aspects of collision, coexistence, integration and transmission in its tradition and customs.Macau foi a primeira porta de entrada para a difusão da música ocidental no Oriente e, simultaneamente, o ponto de encontro da migração da música chinesa continental para o Sul, sendo considerado um local de convergência das culturas ocidental e oriental. Ao longo de 400 anos, desde a abertura do Porto de Macau, encontramos, ainda por explorar, muitos vestígios e registos de música, tanto chinesa como ocidental, religiosa como secular, clássica como folclórica. Em comparação com algumas regiões chinesas de contacto relativamente recente com a cultura ocidental ou com os locais em que existem lacunas culturais devido a vários fatores, Macau pode-se considerar como um caso único para a pesquisa histórica musical, devido aos aspetos de colisão, coexistência, integração e transmissão na sua tradição e costumes

No full textThe aim of this paper is to analyse the ekphrastic elements of the second messenger speech in Aeschylus’ Persians (vv. 353-432) in order to understand the role played by this character in this tragedy by Aeschylus. In this sense, the aim is to highlight one of the differentiating elements of the epic messengers with the messenger of Persians, the subjectivity of the discourse. Furthermore, the analysis of the ekphrastic elements and their implication in the messenger’s discourse and in the tragedy in general will provide information for the interpretation of the narrative of the naval battle of Salamis
Formulación de la eventual violencia sexual en la comedia Aristofánica
No full textA compilation of the different ways of expression of sexual violence is presented in this work, applied to the characters of the Aristophanic Comedy, so as to establish its typology as a mechanism of comicalness of the comic genre, and as a portrayal of a society that allows it and even considers it as a source of humour. The study is organised through a series of patterns, sorted in a climatic manner, of the different ways that the characters of Aristophanes use to verbally portray the sexual aggression. In all cases, it is a future projection of rape that never occurs in front of the spectators, as everything ends up being the character’s desire.Este trabajo ofrece una recopilación de las diferentes formas de expresión de la violencia sexual aplicada a los personajes de la comedia de Aristófanes, a fin de establecer una tipología de esta como mecanismo de comicidad del género cómico y como retrato de una sociedad que la permite e incluso la considera una fuente de humor. El estudio se organiza mediante una serie de patrones, ordenados de forma climática, de las distintas formas que tienen los personajes aristofánicos de verbalizar la agresión sexual. Se trata, en todo caso, de una proyección futura de violación que no llega a efectuarse en ningún momento ante los espectadores, dado que todo queda en un mero deseo del personaje
Virtual Dress, Real Responsibilities: Considerations of 3D CAD Patternmaking to Develop Substitute Garments for Historic Dress Research and Display
Get PDFThis paper explores how 3D reconstructions of historic dress can be utilized as an aid for the development of real substitute garments and digital visualization for display. While 3D reconstruction is presently implemented in other museology fields, the flexible nature of dress suggests a need for an alternative approach, in addition to ethical considerations from the practitioner’s involvement. This is demonstrated through the development of a substitute skirt for an 1887-1890 Japanese Western-style ceremonial court dress (taireifuku), originally made for and worn by the Meiji Empress. The skirt of the original ensemble is missing and its appearance remains unknown, requiring a substitute skirt to support the original garments when mounted. Following an object-based research approach and advice from experts in dress history and conservation, the author conceptualized a substitute skirt with the assistance of 3D CAD patternmaking software. The result was used as a visual and pattern aid to develop the real substitute skirt that was used with the real taireifuku for two public displays. Furthermore, further utilization of the virtual reconstruction was demonstrated through the author’s development of additional skirt concepts, adapting them for a digital display which was exhibited with the real artefact
From Food to Memories: A Narrative Literature Review on Experience Economy Realms in Theme Restaurants
Get PDFDespite the extensive body of research on the experience economy within the food industry, there remains a noticeable gap in understanding the customer experience, especially in the context of theme restaurants. The theme restaurant industry attracts customers as it offers a truly exceptional dining theme-related experience. Integrating experience economy realms into theme restaurants enhances the overall customer experience, creating a lasting impression in their memory and increasing the likelihood of repeat patronage. However, there is scarcity of studies on the role of the experience economy in theme restaurants, which might give profound implications to business owners and tourism boards. Thus, this study aims to assess essential realms theme restaurants should incorporate. This narrative review provides an extensive understanding by analysing 26 articles from academic search engines. The elements discovered were divided into five distinct categories: (1) education, (2) entertainment, (3) escapism, (4) aesthetics, and (5) sweet spot. Incorporating these domains into a theme restaurant is crucial as it offers delectable food and memorable dining experience for customers. This understanding and utilization of experience economy concepts may serve as a strategic guide for owners seeking to create extraordinary theme restaurants that align seamlessly with the demands and desires of discerning consumers
The mobile app frontier in the hotel sector: App-solutely essential?

Data was collected from 12 managers of 5-star hotels operating in Turkey through interview. The collected data was analysed to explore the benefits, challenges, opportunities, and potential risks associated with mobile app technology. In this study, a kappa analysis was performed by two experts in the field who coded the interview data. The resulting value was 0.77, indicating a high level of agreement among the findings. The study revealed various opportunities such as personalized customer experiences, improved efficiency, and enhanced communication through mobile apps in hotels. However, it also identified challenges like technical issues, concerns about data security, obstacles to adoption, and staff adaptation. Furthermore, potential risks such as reduced traditional interactions and technological glitches underscore the need for careful consideration. This research delves into the complex landscape of mobile application technology within the hotel sector, uncovering its potential for transformation, navigating challenges, and highlighting key opportunities while addressing associated risks meticulously
