Corpo, Dança e o Currículo da Educação Física
The study aimed to analyze the scientific production of the relationships that are being woven between the body, dance, and Physical Education curriculum in Brazil. It is characterized as documentary research of secondary character in public sources. Sixteen articles indexed in the Scielo and Lilacs databases were selected from an initial search of 995 articles. The relationship between dance, body, and the Physical Education curriculum (analytical categories) took different configurations in the included articles. The rigorous, categorical, and thematic investigation led us to establish four empirical categories that structure the relationships between dance, body, and the Physical Education curriculum: Instrumentalization of the Body, Gender, Language and Epistemology. We conclude by recognizing that the relationship between body, dance and the Physical Education curriculum was not established as a direct object in the articles mapped in this documentary research. However, these articles contribute to a better understanding of how the Physical Education curriculum has been appropriating discussions about the body in its intersection with dance.
In the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), Portuguese as a Non-Native Language (PLNM)has assumed a fundamental role in the integration of migrants. Over the last few decades, thenumber of retired foreigners temporarily residing in the territory and economic immigrants livingpermanently in the RAM has increased, especially in Funchal, but also in North Cost, like PortoMoniz. The situation has forced the authorities to think about the importance of the PLNM forintegration and reception. The information is systematized, giving an account of PLNM courses. In the public institutions of RAM, particularly on the island of Madeira, the PLNM is present inseveral formal and non-formal institutions, in a diversity of training courses. Some reflections aredeveloped around certain critical areas related to the learning of the Portuguese language byspeakers who do not have it as their mother tongue, contemplating, in particular, areas such asPhonetics and Pragmatics because they are assumed, among others, as crucial. However, theycannot be exclusive, defending, especially from Pragmatics, a transdisciplinary vision. Phoneticsand Pragmatics are important to learn to speak Portuguese and contribute to the integration ofmigrants was highlighted. A reflection is developed on the subject pointing to some challenges.
Meaning in Videogames: Ludonarrative Loops, Friction, and Philosophical Play
This paper looks at the current discourse surrounding meaning generation in videogames. We examine theories on the generation of meaning through narratives, and game mechanics and action. Recognising their effectiveness, we present an alternative based on the friction between narrative, mechanics, and action for generating meaning. Our primary goal is to complement existing paradigms, thus presenting creatives with a broader notion of how the articulation of game spaces and properties catalyse meaning. Our second goal is to elucidate on abstract concepts that have been explored through this ludonarrative friction. We use a qualitative and argumentative approach, based on in-depth assessments of some case studies. We find that: 1) meaning can be generated through ludonarrative friction; 2) designers have different pathways for projecting meaning in their games; 3) players often embody structural power through mechanics, perspective and physics; 4) thoughtful games frequently dispute our perception of a permanent and always rational self; 5) morality is challenging and context-dependent, often with substantial personal cost; 6) games can translate ideology or trauma into mechanics the player must interact directly with; and 7) games embrace the temporal deconstruction of meaning. Considering ludonarrative friction, future studies must embrace different ideas outside the ideological frame addressed here
Friction Matters: Exploring Friction in Non-Anthropocentric Gameplay
This article examines the role of friction as a critical principle in interactive media design, particularly within the emerging field of non-anthropocentric game studies. Departing from dominant paradigms of smoothness, efficiency, and user-centric flow, it argues that friction, when deliberately and thoughtfully applied, can operate as a mechanism for decentering human agency and foregrounding more-than-human perspectives, temporalities, and ontologies. Building on insights from user experience theory, game design, and posthumanist design scholarship, this article identifies thirteen friction dimensions that support non-anthropocentric approaches to game design. These include, among others, sensory mismatch, real-time pacing, collective agency, and refusal of interaction.
The article begins by defining and contextualizing the concept of friction, initially examining its role in user experience design before analyzing its function within games and lastly focusing on its application in the context of non-anthropocentric game design
Video Game Frictions: Grammars of Normativity, Aesthetics of Trouble
This article offers a critical reading of the tensions between two contemporary regimes of game design: on the one side, seamless game design, which aims to smooth out the gaming experience by eliminating any form of rupture; on the other, a set of practices that can be grouped under the label friction-based game design, which embraces, provokes, or stages various forms of resistance. By analyzing several types of friction, the article identifies their effects on player experience (destabilization, disorientation, discomfort) and questions their critical potential.
Friction is presented not as a flaw to be corrected, but as an aesthetic and political operator capable of shifting dominant norms of playability. In doing so, the study shows that these troubled—or troubling—games reveal the stratified, unstable, and manipulable nature of the digital medium itself, often concealed by fluidity-oriented design aesthetics
Green food buying intention using the constructs of the Norm Activation Model as moderators among tourists in Ghana
This study investigates purchasing intentions within the framework of the theory of planned behaviour (TPB), extending its scope by incorporating additional dimensions: personal norms, awareness of consequences, and ascribed responsibility in the context of green foods. Data was collected from 456 tourists in Ghana through face-to-face interactions, using a cross-sectional and quantitative approach. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to assess the measurement model, test the hypotheses, and evaluate predictive relevance. The research reveals that attitudes toward green food (ATT), subjective norms of green food (SNN), number of children in a family (NCF), health benefits (HBF), and environmental issues (ENI) directly influence purchase intentions. Furthermore, personal norms (PN), awareness of consequences (AC), and ascribed responsibility (AR) positively moderate the relationships between attitudes toward green food, subjective norms of green food, and perceived behavioural control regarding purchasing intentions. This study provides valuable insights into the factors shaping tourist purchasing intentions. Consequently, marketing practitioners can tailor their strategies to align with the buying preferences of tourists in Ghana, specifically targeting green food products. This paper contributes to an underexplored area of research: understanding tourist purchasing intentions in Ghana. Prior studies on purchasing intentions have not extensively incorporated the extended TPB dimensions—number of children in a family, health benefits, and environmental issues—to comprehend this phenomenon
