To address the issue of architecture in China and its spatial configuration, I will discuss architecture in general on the greater Chinese continent, since analysis must currently be carried out on a multidimensional scale, such is the breadth of communication, continuity and interface that runs through it. This essay argues that as a result of the exchange of information and the synergies created, new architectural objects are visible throughout the country, where diverse experiences follow one another, multiply, intersect and enhance one another. Recent years of architectural production in China, particularly in Beijing, have been permeable to Western influences in the era of globalization. However, recently, there has been a change that finds its main motivation in authenticity.
In the Palatine Anthology and Anthology of Planudes there is a group of epigrams aimed at the reception of poets of the past in order to present briefly the essential characteristics that would define their works. Given the conciseness of the genre, these authors were often approached in a synthetic and stereotypical way, being reduced to a few images or frequent themes in their verses. This article intends to investigate the reception of Sappho in Hellenistic epigrams with the aim of highlighting the sacred representation attributed to her, as well as her relationship with erotic matter. The Promethean myth in Almada Negreiros
This essay analyses the interpretation of the Promethean myth in the works of Almada Negreiros. His deconstruction of Prometheus is compared to the versions of Aeschylus and Percy Bysshe Shelley, contextualizing this deconstruction as an actualization of the myth to the 20th century, utilizing the mythical narrative as example of the (Promethean) role of the Artist in society, according to the formulation of Almada Negreiros

Selva de Aventuras, by Jerónimo de Contreras, is a novel with a striking trajectory: whereas the first version, published in 1565, recounted a tale of earthly detachment through the figure of a lover who, being unable to marry his beloved, becomes an eremite and devotes his life to God, the version published in 1583 changed the ending drastically, finalizing the tale with a happy marriage. The causes behind such modification are object of academic controversy. In this essay I will study the reasons behind this change and link the concept of love present in the novel to that of Renaissance Neoplatonism.
Tourism and economic growth: Evidence of granger causality for Portugal
As the tourism sector accounted for 15.8% of Portugal\u27s economic output in 2022, it is crucial to examine this sector from various angles in Portugal. Using Granger causality, we confirmed a bidirectional relationship between tourism revenue and Gross domestic product per capita, as well as between the number of nights spent by tourists residing in Portugal in Portuguese collective accommodation establishments and Gross domestic product per capita from 1996 to 2022. Several unidirectional relationships were also found, namely between the average number of stays of tourists residing in Portugal and foreigners in the Portuguese Gross domestic product per capita, and the number of overnight stays of the tourists living in Portuguese territory and abroad in collective accommodation units (tourists who stay in establishments broadly classified as hotels) in Portugal, the average number of stays of these tourists, and Portuguese tourism revenues. Using data obtained from INE (Statistics Portugal) and Granger Causality, a notable fact that we observed is that, despite Portugal\u27s GDP having increased in recent years, the average number of stays in Portugal, both for residents and non-residents, has not increased. More people spend nights in Portuguese shared accommodation units, but the average stay is not growing, which could benefit the country. Policy makers and various tourism agents must face this reality and find ways to encourage tourists to stay longer. As far as we know, this is the first time these variables have been used empirically with this methodology, which allows statistical relationships to be analysed from all possible angles
Destination attractiveness in Ghana: Insight from visitors’ perceptions of beach tourism
The attractiveness of destinations, particularly beaches, influences tourists’ selection and visits. This study sought to ascertain visitors’ perceptions of beach destination attractiveness and explore whether these perceptions are associated with sociodemographic factors. Data collected from beach visitors (N = 313) through a survey were analysed using descriptive statistics and Chi-square test. The results revealed that while users perceived geophysical features (73.7%) and access, safety, and comfort (66.9%) as attractive, they considered scenery and cleanliness (27.9%) and facilities and services (27.6%) dimensions as not readily attractive. The results also showed that the age, education, marital status, continent of origin and purpose of visit are significantly associated with perceived beach destination attractiveness. Most importantly, overall beach destination attractiveness is significantly correlated with gender, nationality (tourist type), and continent of visitors. The study recommends that regulators and beach management should essentially engage in infrastructure, service, and sanitation improvements at the beaches, and adopt target marketing, to meet diverse visitor needs, uphold the appeal and viability of these coastal destinations, and promote sustainable tourism development in Ghana and West Africa
Mapping internationalisation research in tourism and hospitality: A bibliometric analysis
Internationalisation in tourism and hospitality has been featured as a research field covering various topics and problems. However, no bibliometric study has reviewed the relevant literature in this research area so far. Therefore, this article provides a bibliometric perspective on the research on internationalisation in tourism published between 1980 and 2024. This study aims to explore the evolution, structure, and boundaries of research on internationalisation in the field of tourism, as indexed in the Web of Science (WoS). A total of 206 documents — including journal articles, conference proceedings, books, and book chapters — related to internationalisation in tourism were analysed through the R studio Bibliometric package program. This research conducted performance analyses (number of articles per year, most influential author, most influential journals and most influential countries) and science mapping (word cloud, co-author, citation, country, institution and thematic analyses). It has revealed that the number of research conducted each year experienced ups and downs. Various authors, organisations, journals and countries have made significant contributions to the research on internationalisation in tourism and hospitality during the examined period. Science mapping analysis has provided a significant understanding of the structural, dynamic and conceptual structure in terms of internationalisation. This study also makes important contributions to tourism research in terms of the main themes of internationalisation and new trends
Sophocles achieved enormous success with his Antigone, not only among his contemporaries, but throughout the millennia. Even today, his 441 BC creation remains the most performed tragedy, with the greatest repercussions in terms of adaptations and rewrites.Echoing this same popularity, Euripides composed his own Antigone years later, a play that is lost to us, but which was also popular in antiquity. As far as the testimonies and fragments that have been preserved allow us to conclude, Euripides took up the strong lines of Sophocles’ play, but by altering their proportion, he turned a tragedy with a strong political character into a play of a novelistic nature.Sófocles obteve com a sua Antígona um enorme êxito, não apenas entre os seus contemporâneos, como ao longo de milénios.
