    CAPACITY RANGE CALCULATION

    The aim of this paper is to use a new capacity parameter called capacity range for evaluation of individual operational concept on the same line before and after planned modernization. The paper uses a new capacity parameter called capacity range. The methodology of capacity range counting is based on one main number, but it takes more aspects. It deals with the operational facility occupancy rate, with the identifying of the bottleneck, with the simulation problems solved in the simulation program SimuT and with the quality aspect of capacity. It creates the link between capacity quality and quantity, between the displayed Ishikawa diagram and the possibility of the wrong operational concept selection. The definition is explained and then the parameter is calculated for a selected section of Týniště nad Orlicí – Choceň. The capacity range is counted for current conditions (single track line, old equipment) and then for comparison for future conditions (double track line, new safety equipment). Capacity range, expressed as dependence of the number of trains on average delay increment, is a useful capacity parameter particularly for coherent railway sections with remote traffic control

    The long-haul operation was perceived as the last bulwark, capturing the respective markets with air services for traditional carrier, however, low-cost air carriers have expanded on long-haul markets recently. In this paper, we compare the competitive weapons of air carriers which operated direct flights on the O-D route Singapore – Melbourne, long-haul low-cost carriers including. The carriers are compared in terms of frequencies, duration of flights, prices and offered classes to passengers. Considering the interlinkages among the carriers, whether based on ownership and/or horizontal cooperation, we reveal two dimensions of competition on the analysed O-D and recommend to tackle more.fragile edges in the triangle of cooperation, competition and coopetiion in the airline industry by regulatory and competition bodies

    Článek popisuje metodický postup určení počtu cestujících v přestupních uzlech veřejné hromadné dopravy pro stanovení rizikovosti uzlu při úniku nebezpečné látky v okolí. Počet cestujících v přestupním uzlu je určen na základě počtu a obsazenosti vozidel veřejné hromadné dopravy obsluhující přestupní uzel, průměrné doby čekání na dopravní spoj, čas na přestup a další vlivy. Metodický postup je ověřen na vybraném uzlu při úniku nebezpečné látky – amoniaku. Postup umožní kvantifikovat počet ohrožených osob v případě nehody a následně přizpůsobit zásah integrovaného záchranného systému.This article describes a methodology for determining the number of passengers in public transport hubs for assessing the risk of the hub in caused by release of dangerous substance in the neighbourhood. The number of passengers in the transport hub is determined by the number and occupancy of public transport vehicles serving the transport hub, the average waiting time for the transport link, the time to transfer and other influences. The methodology is validated at the selected transport hub for the release of the dangerous substance – ammonia. The procedure will enable to quantify the number of people at risk in the event of an accident and then justify the intervention of the integrated rescue system

    Článok obsahuje matematický model taktickej predikcie konfliktu dvojice lietadiel. Taktická predikcia konfliktu lietadiel má upozorniť riadiaceho na okamžitú potenciálnu nebezpečnú situáciu. Okolo lietadla L je definovaný konfliktný priestor, ktorý je rotačný elipsoid. Lietadlo L sa nachádza v strede konfliktného priestoru a lietadlo M sa voči nemu pohybuje relatívnou rýchlosťou R, ktorá je rozdielom rýchlosti lietadla M a lietadla L. V modele sa extrapoluje dráha lietadla M v smere vektora relatívnej rýchlosti zbližovania po dobu predstihu p. Ak má extrapolovaná dráha s konfliktným priestorom lietadla L spoločný aspoň jeden bod, signalizuje sa konflikt.The paper presents a mathematical model of tactical conflict prediction of a pair of aircraft. The objective of a tactical conflict prediction is to signal immediate danger situation to an air traffic controller. The conflict volume of en aircraft L is in the airspace formed around the aircraft L that is fixed in the centre of the conflict volume which is a rotational ellipsoid. The aircraft M moves with a constant relative velocity R with regard to aircraft L. If the extrapolated trajectory has at least one common point with the protected volume , then the point is enclosed in the protected volume and the conflict is signalled

    THE SOLAS VGM AND MARITIME SHIPPING: COMPARATIVE STUDY AND ORIGINAL FINDINGS

    Mezinárodní námořní organizace přijala v roce 2014 novelizaci Mezinárodní úmluvy o ochraně lidského života na moři (Safety of Life at Sea Convention, SOLAS). Tato novelizace se týká povinnosti poskytnout skutečnou a verifikovanou hmotnost naloženého kontejneru před exportní nákládkou na loď (Verified Gross Mass, VGM). Povinnost VGM vstoupila v účinnost 1. července 2016, a to na území všech států, které Úmluvu z roku 1974 jako mezinárodně závaznou smlouvu svým podpisem stvrdily, kdy následovaly úpravy právního řádu na národní úrovni v oblasti procesních právních předpisů. Studie se zaměřuje na implementační proces VGM z pohledu relevantních tržních subjektů, při komparaci výstupů z dotazníkového šetření ve třech členských státech Evropské unie včetně realizovaných hloubkových rozhovorů se zástupci naloďovatelů, zasílatelů a rejdařů. Na základě studie vycházející z analýzy empirických primárních dat bylo možné identifikovat očekáváné výzvy a náklady spojené s implementací VGM pro kontejnerizovaný export zboží, kterým v souvislosti s VGM naloďovatelé a zasílatelé čelí.The International Maritime Organization (IMO) amended the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention, Chapter 6, Part A to include a condition that all full containers loaded onto a vessel for export require a certified weight confirmation titled verified gross mass (VGM) in 2014. The VGM requirement became effective in Jla 2016 for the IMO member countries that signed the SOLAS Convention of 1974 with leaving the details of its implementation at their national law domain. The paper briefly deals with the implementation process of VGM in selected European Union member countries while being improved by an initial review of trade press articles, followed by an survey among shippers, freight forwarders and ocean carriers. Based on the data, the paper identifies the expected challenges and costs related to the SOLAS VGM adoption for container exports that the companies have to face once doing business

    Rieka Váh je najdlhšia slovenská rieka, ktorá svojím povodím zaberá až jednu tretinu územia Slovenska. Jej význam spočíva nielen z pohľadu výroby elektrickej energie, ale aj ako dopravnej cesty, ktorá by pomohla k rozvoju hospodárstva najmä severozápadnej aj južnej časti Slovenska. Cieľom projektu vážska vodná cesta je splavniť rieku Váh od Komárna po Žilinu. Obchodná plavba sa s určitými obmedzeniami realizuje len v jej spodnej časti. Naďalej je potrebné zrekonštruovať, resp. vybudovať zdvíhacie zariadenia a kanály v jej strednej a hornej časti.The river Vah is the longest Slovak river, which occupies up to one third of Slovakia with its catchment area. Its importance lies not only in the production of electricity but also as a transport route that would help to develop the economy especially in the northwest and southern parts of Slovakia. The basic goal of the project Vah waterway is to make the Vah river navigable from Komarno to Zilina. With some limitations commercial navigation only carries out on its lower stretch. It is necessary to reconstruct or build lifting devices and canals on its middle or upper part

Součástí příspěvku je také konstrukční řešení hydraulického vyrovnávače tahu v lanech, který umožňuje snímat hodnotu tahové síly v laně a vyrovnávat rozdílné hodnoty tahových sil ve vícelanových systémech elektrických výtahů.  This entry describe constructional design of a measurement device for detection tension forces in ropes. In the contribution, two principles of devices for setting the required value of tensile force in ropes are mentioned and subjected to the analysis of practical applicability

    This paper pursues the chosen airline network analysis (Air France) and it contains information about the main hub, current fleet operated, numbers of passengers carried over last five years and also the visualisation of the airline network for short and long-haul flights based on a leg distance; with the focus on the key (strategy) routes. The case study also focuses on the estimation of required future capacity – as the passenger number will grow, the load factor will be increasing, but in reality, it will just rarely reach more than 90 percent. The estimated number of new planes that will be required in a future by a chosen airline are also incorporated. The very last part is dedicated to recommendations for the airline marketing strategy in connection to their further cooperation with the biggest player on the airplane´s worldwide production on the market, Airbus company

    “Prussian Emigrants”. Glatz-Silesian Communities in East and East-Central Bohemia (1763–1946)

    After the Seven Years‘ War (1756–1763) a number of so­called “Prussian emigrants” arrived in Bohemia. These migrants came mainly from the County of Glatz and Silesia. Their homeland was permanently connected to Prussia, but many Catholics remained loyal to the Habsburgs. Some of them initially found their refuge in the Bohemian borderland. Later a part of them moved to Bohemian inland. Between 1780 and 1785 they founded, or participated in the founding, twelve villages near Pardubice and one settlement in the Poděbrady estate. The German­speaking colonists came to the purely Czech regions. The aim of this article is to analyze the course of this migration, colonization, integration and later assimilation processes that led to the decline of the German settlements by the early 20th century. Attention will be paid to the collective identity of immigrants and their descendants, their relations to the Czech surroundings, marriage strategies, demographic trends and changes in language identity.
