CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE COMPANY PROVIDING EXPRESS COURIER SERVICES : INTERPRETATIVE CASE STUDY
From Midwifery to Birth Assistance: Midwives’ Practice in the First Half of the 20th Century in the Czech Lands
The paper deals with midwives’ practice in the first half of the 20th century. The issue is based on the analysis of serial sources, so-called birth diaries. The research analyses ten series of birth diaries in the pre-printed form in which the midwives recorded information on the course of deliveries. The diaries are kept in Czech and Moravian archives and provide data on obstetric practice in various regions of the Czech lands. That makes it possible for us to compare the circumstances under which the midwives worked as well as their performance in different geographical, demographic, and social conditions, both in industrial and agrarian areas. The obtained data provide answers to several questions, e.g. the beginnings of assistants’ careers, their performance, the social structure of their clientele, as well as medical aspects of obstetric practice and cooperation with physicians. The research attempts to define the links between these indicators and also focuses on the financial gains of the midwives in their obstetric practice. The paper deals with midwives’ practice in the first half of the 20th century. The Defense of Lawful Rebellion against Superior Rulers in Christopher Goodman’s Work
Christopher Goodman was a famous English 16th century reformer, a colleague and a close friend of John Knox, Father of Scottish Presbyterian Church. Christopher Goodman was well-known thanks to his critical work ’How Superior Powers Ought to Be Obeyed by Their Subjects and Wherein They May Lawfully by God’s Word Be Disobeyed and Resisted’. John Knox and Christopher Goodman were the most critical authors of their age. However, Goodman’s radical way of thinking was stronger than Knox’s and that was the reason for the prohibition of his book.Christopher Goodman was a famous English 16th century reformer, a colleague and a close friend of John Knox, Father of Scottish Presbyterian Church. WINDMILL POWER TURBINE EFFECTS ON RADAR FUNCTIONS
The paper analyses windmill power turbines (WT) effects on ground-based radar functions, used for air traffic control. The primary radars, especially surveillance, landing and tracking systems for frequency ranges 1 GHz up to 10 GHz, are considered. The paper is dealing with the estimations of radar cross sections (RCS) considering typical shapes and dimensions of windmill turbines and with shadowing due to an individual WT and groups of power stations for primary and secondary radars. As the given problems are usually very complicated, and numerical simulations are extremely demanding from viewpoint of time and memories, the simplified equations are given allowing the basic preliminary analyse
