The Jesuits in ’Historie církevní‘ by Pavel Skála of Zhoř and Their Possible Role in Skála’s View on History
’Historie církevní’(The History of the Church) by Pavel Skála of Zhoř is probably the most extensive Czech early modern historiographical work, moreover, preserved in only one manuscript. Being written by a protestant author, ’Historie církevní’ contains rather a detailed image of the Jesuit Order hidden within its text. The Jesuits were presented by Skála through a collection of various motives connected to the Order, which also allowed him to create his own image of the Order. The article focuses on the parts of Skála’s manuscript dealing with the Jesuits and their possible role in his view on history.’Historie církevní’(The History of the Church) by Pavel Skála of Zhoř is probably the most extensive Czech early modern historiographical work, moreover, preserved in only one manuscript. The research involved creating an appropriate questionnaire and collecting the opinions of respondents, which consisted of individuals and legal entities. The collected data were statistically analyzed, and the most significant results were presented in the paper
THE EVALUATION OF CARBON IMPURITIES IN MOTOR OILS
V příspěvku jsou prezentovány výsledky porovnání stanovení obsahu karbonových nečistot v motorovém oleji přístrojem REO-31 dle metodiky používané v Depu kolejových vozidel v České Třebové a dle metodiky laboratoře tribotechnické diagnostiky Dopravní fakulty Jana Pernera, Univerzity Pardubice. The content of carbon impurities in the engine oil is one of the basic diagnostic variables, according to which it is decided whether it is necessary to change the engine oil. The paper presents the results of a comparison of the determination of the content of carbon impurities in motor oil by the REO-31 device according to the methodology used in the rolling stock warehouse in Česká Třebová and according to the methodology of the laboratory of tribotechnical diagnostics of the Faculty of Transport Engineering, University of Pardubice
Unto This Last: John Ruskin and the Beginnings of English Ecocriticism
The following paper deals with the beginnings of ecocritical thought in John Ruskin’s essay Unto This Last (1862). The article presents the context of its economic thought and relates it to the beginnings of “ecology” in the work of German biologist Ernst Haeckel (1834-1919). The key aspect of Ruskin’s approach is a close link between a humane economy and a sense of responsibility for the environment. In his sweeping analysis of laissez-faire capitalism, he contrasts creation with production, focuses on the reductive terminology of political economy and its potentially devastating consequences if it becomes the leading ideology of the state. The final part of the paper assesses the importance of this essay for the development of ecocritical thought as well as its relevance today
OPTIONS FOR CREATING A WAREHOUSE NETWORK IN THE LAST MILE LOGISTICS
Moderní logistická praxe směřuje ke komplexnímu řešení problémů a plné integraci dodavatelských řetězců. Modern logistics practice aims at comprehensive problem solving and full integration of supply chains. One of the areas in which an effective solution needs to be found is the creation of a warehouse network. Finding a suitable model for the location of distribution or storage centers, which would, in addition to cost savings or profit maximization, also take into account the time aspect, can lead to gaining a competitive advantage. Applying such a model to the conditions of current trends in the field of last mile logistics could then lead not only to gaining a competitive advantage, but also to gaining a larger market share. The aim of this article is to explore the possibilities of using existing methods and models used to create a distribution network, such as static methods, in which warehouses or service centers can be distributed according to purpose, and according to their nature can use continuous, discrete or network models. Furthermore, the article examines the possibilities of using dynamic models, which are more focused on the time factor and could be used to allocate warehouses or distribution centers, among other things, in last minute logistics, because the current trend is the time aspect of when companies they are currently working to reduce delivery times as much as possible. The article deals with possibilities of using location-allocation problem, P-median model, Weber\u27s model, or the concept of the problem of warehouse location as non-dimensioned problem of equipment location. The fact that these models do not take into account customers and benefits for customers proves to be problematic with the above-mentioned models. It is therefore necessary to focus on finding a model that takes into account certain elements of customer service, such as easy product availability, delivery frequency or delivery time requirements, not only in the case of last mile logistics. From above mentioned methods, based on the time factor, the best for the deployment of distribution centers appears to be a combination of logistics method Quality function deployment (QFD), which allows to incorporate customer requirements into the final product in combination with the method Analytic network process. Unstructured situations on simpler components, possibly with the Analytic hierarchy process method, focused on network decision problems in order to determine the optimal location for the warehouse or distribution center. The aim of this article is to explore the possibilities of using a combination of the above models for the deployment of warehouses or distribution centers in last mile logistics
THE CONCEPT OF BSC SYSTEM AND ITS USE IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF BUS TRANSPORT COMPANY IN SR
Strategic management is an essential part of the business management. It can also be a way to increase the competitiveness of enterprises. One of the possibilities of using strategic management tools in bus transport companies is just the concept of Balanced Scorecard (BSC) system. The BSC system consists of four perspectives - financial, customer, business and learning and growth perspective, which use a lot of indicators. When the enterprise is introducing the BSC system, it should be respected those perspectives. In fact, we analysed how companies in the Slovak Republic use BSC system in their own strategic management. The results of the survey is published in this paper. The aim of this article is to explain the methodology of the BSC system and benefits of implementing this system. It also determined the possibilities of using BSC system in practice, namely in bus transport companies
