Ride Comfort Increasing with Semi-Activelly Controlled Dampers – Running Tests
No full textTento příspěvek popisuje přínos semiaktivního řízení příčných a svislých sekundárních tlumičů v reálných podmínkách na vozu elektrické jednotky Škoda 10Ev („InterPanter“) oproti konvenčním pasivním tlumičům. Výsledky zkoušek ukazují výrazné zvýšení jízdního komfortu, a to zejména při vyšších rychlostech a na tratích s horší kvalitou. Při hodnocení ukazatelem středního pohodlí (NMV) dle normy EN 12299 se dosahovaná hodnota snižuje průměrně o 26 % na běžných tratích.This paper describes the benefits of semi-active control of lateral and vertical secondary dampers under real conditions on a Škoda 10Ev (“InterPanter”) EMU in comparison with conventional passive dampers. The results show a significant increase in ride comfort thanks to the semi-actively controlled dampers, especially at higher speeds and on poorer quality tracks. The mean comfort index (NMV) on standard lines is reduced by 26% on average according to EN 12299
Operation and Maintenance of the Electric Multiple Units with Traction Battery
No full textPříspěvek popisuje první provozní koncept elektrických jednotek s trakčními bateriemi v ČR po jejich uvedení do zkušebního provozu, stejně jako přípravy k provozu dalších jednotek z již objednané série do Moravskoslezského kraje. Dále uvádí změny a režimová opatření v místě údržby pro zajištění bezpečnosti a spolehlivosti vozidel vybavených bateriemi. V další části se příspěvek věnuje potřebám údržby pojezdů elektrických jednotek, provozovaných nově i na regionálních tratích s velmi malými poloměry oblouků. Pro zmírnění účinku tratě na dvojkolí jsou nebo budou přijata různá opatření jak v údržbě vozidel, tak u správce infrastruktury. Z pohledu nákladů na životní cyklus je zásadní životnost baterií. Pro její prodloužení je nutné dosáhnout optimálního režimu nabíjení a vybíjení vzhledem k požadavkům na optimální provoz vozidel. To je jistou výzvou pro změny v procesu sběru dat o provozu jednotek a aktuální úrovni nabití. Článek popisuje současný stav a navrhuje změny diagnostického systému pro možnou optimalizaci.The paper describes the initial operational concept of electric multiple units with traction batteries in the Czech Republic following their introduction into trial operation as well as preparations for the deployment of additional units from the already ordered series for the Moravian-Silesian Region. Furthermore, it outlines the changes and operational measures implemented at the maintenance site to ensure the safety and reliability of battery-equipped vehicles. The next part of the paper focuses on the maintenance requirements of the running gear of electric units, which are now also operated on regional lines with very small curve radii. To mitigate the effect of track geometry on the wheelsets, various measures are or will be implemented by vehicle maintenance and by the infrastructure manager
Modern Rolling Stock as a Pillar of the Technological Triangle
No full textTato konference pravidelně přináší nové poznatky a aktuální technologický posun v oblasti kolejových vozidel. Jak praktická řešení, tak vědecké přístupy ukazují, že tento segment je velmi významný a jeho inovace přispívají k vyšší oblibě kolejové dopravy. Tento článek ukazuje trochu jiný pohled a nastavuje zrcadlo těch, kteří následně tato vozidla objednávají v závazku veřejné služby nebo pro ně tvoří a spravují infrastrukturu. Řada inovací je velmi pozitivních, ale najdou se i takové, které prodlužují technologické časy a komplikují tak práci dopravním technologům. Klíčovým aspektem tak je soulad dopravní infrastruktury, použitých vozidel a také provozního konceptu objednatele na dané trati. Souhrnně se tyto aspekty označují jako technologický trojúhelník. V tomto článku jsou představeny některé takové případy dobré praxe a jejich reálné dopady. Jedná se zejména o synergický efekt modernizace vozového parku, železniční infrastruktury a propojení těchto aspektů s jízdním řádem a provozním konceptem.This conference is an established forum for presenting novel insights and current technological advances in rolling stock. Both practical and scientific evidence underscores the significance of this sector, with its innovations contributing to the growing popularity of rail transport. This article, however, offers a cautionary perspective. It serves as a warning for those responsible for ordering these vehicles under public service obligations, as well as those who build and manage the supporting infrastructure. While many innovations are undoubtedly beneficial, some can complicate technological integration and pose significant challenges for transport technologists. The pivotal element in this regard is the uniformity among the transport infrastructure, the vehicles used, and the customer\u27s operational concept along a specified route. Collectively, these are referred to as the technological triangle. This article presents practical examples of effective solutions and their real-world impact, focusing on the synergistic effect of modernizing rolling stock and railway infrastructure and linking these aspects with the timetable and operational concept

This overview study explores the National Movement of Working Youth (Národní hnutí pracující mládeže, NHPM) as a historically under-researched case of left-wing youth resistance during the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Framed within the historiographical development of scholarship on the Second World War and resistance in Czechoslovakia, the article highlights the neglect of youth as a distinct historical and political subject. The paper analyses the origins, ideological orientation, and organisational transformation of the NHPM from its legal existence during the Second Republic to its illegal activities following the occupation in March 1939. Emphasis is placed on the role of the illegal press, inter-organisational cooperation, and internal tensions within the movement. The study also reflects on the methodological challenges related to source fragmentation and advocates the fuller integration of youth movements into broader research on resistance, political culture, and everyday life under totalitarian regimes

THE FIRST/LAST MILE PROBLEM AS KEY FACTOR IN PASSENGER TRANSPORT MODAL CHOICE
No full textThe first and last mile leg of a journey presents a challenge for the traveller to get to the transportation hub and continue on the main leg of their journey. The first and last mile can add up to a significant fraction of one’s journey in the matters of duration and also costs of travel. This study demonstrates the problem on a real-life journey, which was tracked and analysed. Then three specific cases of short distance, middle distance and long distance journeys were studied. Journeys were broken down into individual legs and analysed in time and costs aspects. The individual modes are evaluated in total travel costs analysis and present individual options with different approaches to the first and last mile problem. The findings suggest that the fastest option is not always the best in regards to total journey costs. There is a huge difference in car journeys with respects to the amortization of the car and fuel costs only

Effect of a Tunnel on the Internal Noise of a Railway Vehicle
No full textTento článek se zabývá vlivem jízdy tunelem na úroveň vnitřního hluku železničního vozidla. Měření byla provedena na třech různých typech vozů při jízdě na širé trati a v tunelech, a to v souladu s normou ČSN EN ISO 3381. Mikrofony byly rozmístěny v různých částech vozů, včetně nástupních prostor, přechodů a v jednom případě i v kabině strojvedoucího. Výsledky ukazují, že konstrukce vozidla, zejména tlakotěsnost a počet pater, významně ovlivňuje rozdíl hladin akustického tlaku mezi jízdou na širé trati a v tunelu. Největší rozdíly byly zaznamenány u dvoupatrových vozů, zatímco tlakotěsné vozy vykazovaly nejmenší změny v hluku. Zjištění mohou přispět k optimalizaci návrhu vozidel z hlediska akustického komfortu.This article examines the effect of tunnel passage on the internal noise level of a railway vehicle. Measurements were carried out on three different types of coaches during open track and tunnel runs, in accordance with the ČSN EN ISO 3381 standard. Microphones were placed in various parts of the vehicles, including boarding areas, inter-car gangways, and, in one case, the driver\u27s cab. The results show that the vehicle design—pressure-tightness and the number of floors—significantly affects the difference in sound pressure levels between open track and tunnel conditions. The largest differences were observed in double-deck coaches, while pressure-tight vehicles showed the smallest changes in noise levels. The findings may contribute to optimizing vehicle design in terms of acoustic comfort
Božena Viková-Kunětická and Fascism: Between Reason and Strife
No full textThis study explores Božena Viková-Kunětická’s relationship with inter-war fascism. Starting out from an analysis of her journalism and speeches, it traces this relationship on two levels. On the first it reconstructs Viková-Kunětická’s sympathies with fascism as a new political phenomenon and her relationship with the emerging proto-fascist and fascist organisations in Czechoslovakia. In the second section it seeks an answer to the question concerning the extent to which elements of fascist ideology are present in her thought and rhetoric – specifically populist ultranationalism and the myth of palingenesis. The conclusion then focuses on an interpretation of the causes of her partial inclination towards fascism
