Healthcare information system: A public healthcare facility framework
The 21st century has seen innovations in information technology and the healthcare sector is not left behind. Patient healthcare record has witnessed a transformation from a paper-based model to an electronic health-based system, more importantly, cloud-based frameworks have been suggested for storing and managing patient health record. However, security and privacy concerns have been an impediment and the relationship between suggested design and adoption is unclear. In this paper, we propose a framework from a public healthcare perspective that expressly captures patient records and stores these records in a secure database and is accessible for retrieval by authorized medical personnel and researchers. The framework aims to capture patient information with a unique security identifier and provides access within the infrastructure flow to the medical personnel on demand for effective diagnosis
Metallothionein gene polymorphism is considered to be a risk factor for chronic diseases
Metallothioneins are considered the main proteins to protect the cell from toxins like heavy metals and oxidative stress encoded by the Metallothionein gene. Any mutation in this gene leads to a defect in the function of Metallothionein proteins, leading to an increase in the effect of heavy metals. Reactive oxygen species, the SNP A-G (rs28366003) in promotor of the metallothionein gene converts the A allele to G allele, and therefore decreases the transcription qualification of the Metallothionein gene; the aim of the study is correlation between A-G (rs28366003) polymorphism in promotor of Metallothionein gene and the risk factor as well as detecting the levels of heavy metals in patients with Kidney failure, this study includes 60 persons with Kidney failure and 20 persons as a control group with age gape (30-55) years, the blood sample collects from the subject and separate into two-tube, EDTA tube to extraction the DNA and Gel tube to biochemical test. The result showed that there is a relationship between polymorphism in the promotor of the Metallothionein gene in the site A-G (rs28366003). The distribution of different genotypes is wild A.A. 22 %, hetero AG 25%, and mutant 53% in the patients
Detection the genetic variation of vitamin D binding protein (VDBP) gene in women with osteoporosis in Mosul City
The VDBP amino acid sequence is divided into three domains and has 458 amino acids. Exon 11 in domain III has two SNPs, rs7041 and rs4588, each corresponding to one of the major VDBP kinds (VDBP1S, VDBP1F, and VDBP2). Transport of vitamin D3 to the liver and 25(O.H.)D to the kidney, 1,25(O.H.)2D transport to target organs is mediated by vitamin D-binding protein, which interacts with a particular vitamin D receptor (VDR) to explain biological activities. This study aims to determine whether the VDBP gene has three polymorphisms (rs17467825, rs7041, and rs4588) associated with women with osteoporosis in Mosul city. This study included (96) women, the age range between (35-55) years. The samples were divided into two groups, the first group included (74) women with osteoporosis, and the second group was considered a control group. In this study, DNA was extracted from the blood of all the samples included in the study (95) samples, using the method modified by the researchers. And detection of three different SNP of VDBP, (rs17467825) Polymorphism by ARMS-PCR, and (rs7041T) Polymorphism with (rs4588C) Polymorphism by RFLP-PCR. This study showed a connection between deficiency of vitamin D in women and mutation of the VDBP gene in location rs17467825
Effect of magnetic field on productive and hysiological performance in broiler breeder
The experiment was conducted to determine the effect of magnetic field on the productive and physiological performance of Ross 308. The experimental flock consist of 60 hens and 10 cocks of broiler breeders, which randomly divided into four groups and distributed on the treatments with three replicates for each treatment. The treatments included the control treatment (T1), exposure the stored semen to 803 gauss magnetic field for 24 hours (T2), exposure the fertile eggs to 250 gauss magnetic field for 72 hours before entered the incubator (T3) and exposure the individual cages to 250 gauss magnetic field for 8 weeks (T4), and the performance traits of hen day egg production, egg weight, recorded from magnetization cages group and compared with control group. The results showed a significant decrease (P≤0.05) in fertility and hatchability of total eggs in T2 compared with other groups, and there was no significant difference in the hatchability of fertile eggs and embryonic mortality among treatments, egg weight and the hen day egg production. Role of vitamin D supplementation in dental implant osseointegration
Successful osseointegration is one of the key criteria for a prosperous dental implant therapy which is achieved by a functional ankylosis. Vitamin D regulates the bone metabolism and bone mineralization by activating osteoclasts and osteoblasts. The effect of vitamin D coated implants on the osseointegration remains controversial. Only slight evidence supports the hypothesis that humans similarly benefit from vitamin D supplementation in terms of osseointegration. The supplementation of vitamin D appears to improve the osseointegration in animals with systemic diseases, such as vitamin D deficiency, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, and CKD. Slight evidence supports the hypothesis that humans similarly benefit from vitamin D supplementation in terms of osseointegration
Design and implementation of wireless sensor network for environmental monitoring
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are being developed in the agriculture and weather station sectors to monitor and manage a number of objects. Sensor network hardware platforms are low-power embedded systems featuring a variety of sensors, such as on-board sensors and analogue I/O ports for adding sensors. The design of genuine environmental monitoring and communication systems is greatly aided by the creation of a WSN. A WSN is a collection of sensors that are geographically spread and specialized for monitoring and recording environmental variables and storing the findings in a central location. Limited power consumption as sensor nodes works on batteries, Nodes are mobile opposed to conventional wires, Usage in harsh environment, Nodes can be deployed in any fashion over an area, Easy to use and multi-layer design operation these are the main characteristics of WSN. Limits imposed on the energy storage device by their applications and deployment settings are less relevant to WSN environment-monitoring applications than controlling power consumption and optimizing data transmission. A WSN is used to record real-time traffic and environmental data in order to develop descriptive and predictive models for determining the optimum routes to reduce traffic congestion and, as a result, urban pollution.
