    Get PDF
Associations between body mass index (BMI) and mortality can help to estimate the public health impact, including mortality by all-cause. However, the association between BMI and all-cause mortality is still unclear. This study aimed to review the association between body mass index with all-cause mortality. Articles that reported hazard ratio (HR) for all-cause mortality using standard BMI categories of general populations of adults were selected from the following databases including PubMed, ProQuest, Springer link, Science direct, and Google scholar for English language articles published from 2000 until 2021. Twelve studies were included in this study. Random-effects summary all-cause mortality HRs were 1.83 (95% CI, 1.60-2.10) for underweight, 0.81 (95% CI 0.74-0.88) for overweight, and 1.09 (95% CI, 0.89-1.34) for obesity. Being overweight may decrease the risk for all-cause mortality while being underweight suggests increased risk. There is no association between obesity and the risk of all-cause mortality

Purpose–Mucormycosis is an uncommon, rapidly progressive, commonly fatal, opportunistic serious fungal infection. The high mortality rate highlights the importance of early detection and treatment. The purpose of this study to determine theoutcome of orbital exenteration in Rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis(ROCM) patients. Methods and materials–This study includesall proven ROCM patients who had underwent orbital exenteration based on SION Scoring system from 1st may 2021 to 30 june 2021 in MYH hospital, Indore. Those patients were reviewedand the outcome of orbital exenterationwas analysed. Results- Total 29ROCM patients were underwent for orbital exenteration based on SION Scoring system. 19(65.5 %)out of 29 patients had intracranial extension and 10 (34.480%) did not have intracranial extension. Out of 29, 6 (20.68%) patients hadsuccumbed to death within 10 days of orbital exenteration was having bilateral orbital involvement with intracranial extension.23(79.34%) patientshave favorable outcome with regular follow up. Conclusion- Survival of mucormycosis patients depends on the their good glycemic control, immune status, laterality of the orbital involvement and early detection of intracranial extensionof the disease. With prompt medical (high dose intravenous amphotericin B) and early aggressive surgical intervention involving FESS and orbital exenteration can preventintracranial extension and may improve survival rate .Intracranial extension of the disease has invariably been associated with high mortality

Purpose: Corrective osteotomy is the gold standard for varus angular deformity, but is a major surgical intervention with operative site morbidity. The proposed percutaneous technique adds a lot of privileges to corrective osteotomy . It is cosmetically accepted , minimize the risk of infection, acute correction, no need for plate fixation or for a staged operation to remove hardware. Patients and methods: 25 cases (30 limbs) were included in our study. 12 patients were males (14 limbs) and 13 patients were female (16 limbs). Six patients have bilateral genu varum, 19 have unilateral genu varum. The youngest was 13 years and the oldest was 50 years with average (20) years. All patients were treated with percutaneous upper tibial osteotomy technique and above knee casting. The protocol of postoperative rehabilitation was standardized. The patients were followed post-operatively for at least 3 months to evaluate the correction, time required for union, knee joint range of motion, and the overall functional result of the knee using bostman scoring system. Results: All patients treated with the percutaneous osteotomy consolidated and displayed a marked improvement of functional and radiological outcome measures

Adolescents are a vulnerable age group when it comes to nutrition. Some adolescents receive insufficient daily intake, particularly in rural areas with low household incomes. Moreover, suppose adolescents' nutritional intake is insufficient and is not addressed immediately until the preconception period; therefore, it will adversely influence the failure of the first 1000 days of life. This study aimed to examine the association between monthly household income and intake of macro-micro nutrients among adolescent females in a rural setting. This cross-sectional study included 100 adolescent girls aged 15-19 years old in Gunung kidul District, Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. For three days, intakes of macro-micro nutrients were obtained using the 24-hour dietary recall method. Pearson correlation was used to examine the relationship between monthly household income and macro-micro nutrient intake. Adolescent females had low dietary intakes with mean as follows, energy 1514.4 kcal, protein 55.7 g, fat 52.7 g, carbohydrate 219.6 g, iron 6.7 mg, zinc 5.1 mg, and vit A 742.2 µg. Monthly household income was found to have a significant relationship with energy intake (p=0.000, r=0.817), protein (p=0.000, r=0.614), fat (p=0.000, r=0.486), carbohydrate (p=0.000, r=0.692), iron (p=0.000, r=0.373), zinc (p=0.000, r=0.511), and vitamin A (p=0.027, r=0.221).&nbsp

Spinal Anesthesia is a common safe, economical, easy to perform and effective technique which provides rapid and reliable anesthesia with muscle relaxation for pts undergoing lower abdominal surgery. To compare isobaric and hyperbaric ropivacaine in patients undergoing cesarean delivery. Prospective Observational Clinical Study patients admitted for elective cesearan Delivery. The Duration of study is one year. 80 patients, aged 21 years to 30 years, belongs to ASA physical status 1 & 2, posted for elective Caesarean delivery under spinal Anaesthesia. These patients are divided into two groups of 40 patients Each. Group I : patients received 2ml of 0.75%  Isobaric  Ropivacaine  (isobaric group), Group H: patients received 2 ml of 0.75% hyperbaric  Ropivacaine in dextrose 50mg/ml (Hyperbaric group). There was no significant difference in the onset of sensory block. Time from injection to highest sensory block is significantly higher in isobaric group [Group-I], when compared to hyperbaric group [Group-H]. Time for onset of modified bromage grade 3 is longer in isobaric group than hyperbaric group. Time for motor regression is faster in hyperbaric group than in isobaric group so that early mobilization in hyperbaric group patients than isobaric group patients is possible
