Assessment of visual field defects and optic disc changes in patients with high myopia
Glaucoma is a leading cause of global irreversible blindness. Primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) is the most common form of glaucoma and affects 44.1 million individuals worldwide. Furthermore, there is a disproportionate burden of POAG in Asia, with Asians accounting for 53% (23.5 million) of POAG cases worldwide. While early detection of POAG is important in delaying or halting the progression of the disease, a better understanding of the interplay between major risk factors for POAG is crucial. aim of this study is to assess the effects of myopia on POAG in the patient attending MYH Indore OPD (central India). It is a hospital based, prospective, non-randomised case study. 60 eyes of high myopic patients and 60 eyes of general Ophthal OPD patients were evaluated. The statistical software namely SPSS 19.0, were used for the analysis of the data and Microsoft word and Excel have been used to generate graphs, tables etc. In our study, we found that, in high myopic patient, there were increase in chances of glaucomatous optic disc changes, and these changes were influenced by age and not influenced with gender, degree of myopia
Safeguard environmental health utilizing the synergy between internet of things, cloud computing and big data analytics
To safeguard the health of the environment is a need of the hour. It will make the earth more sustainable for generations to come. Waste into Wealth is an apt approach towards optimum utilization of natural resources. Around the world, with industrialization and urbanization on the rise, the quantity of waste is increasing enormously. The composition of waste is also becoming more diversified. In many places, particularly in India, waste is being burnt or dumped, thus producing hazardous smoke or leeching into the soil and water. Implementing waste management schemes may involve mobilizing entire communities around the waste-issue. Innovative ideas on recycling waste are needed to make the earth green and sustainable, while offering simple solutions to turn waste into wealth. Internet of Things (IoT) is a worthy technology that can be used for these purposes. A waste management system based on synergy between IoT, Cloud Computing (CC) and Big Data Analytics (BDA) is proposed in this paper
Study the effect of foliar spraying by Glutathione, Butyrecin and their interaction on some physical, chemical and productive characteristics of date palm Phoenix dactylifera L. CV. Hellawi
This study was conducted on Phoenix dactylifera L. Hellawi date palm trees in one of the private orchards in Al-Haritha district in the north of Basra governorate during the growing season 2021 to know the effect of foliar spraying with the antioxidant Glutathione (0, 50, 100 mg. l-1) and the butyrecin growth regulator at a concentration (0, 50, 100 mg. l-1) by three sprays four weeks after contracting, between one spray and another one month, on some physical, chemical and physiological characteristics of fruits, leaves and components of the date palm yield of the cultivar Al-Hellawi. The results showed that the treatments of spraying with Glutathione at a concentration of 100 mg. l-1 and spraying with butyrecin at a concentration of 100 mg. l-1 were significantly superior, by giving them the highest increase in the physical characteristics of fruits (fruit weight, fruit flesh weight, fruit size) in the Kallal and wet stages compared to the control treatment. It outperformed in increasing the rate of fruit set and the rate of fruit ripening and increasing the rate of b and the amount of the total yield compared to the comparison treatment
Critical factors that affecting adoption of e-learning based on cloud computing for Iraqi higher education organizations
Cloud computing-based e-learning is one of the most popular techniques discovered to promote traditional instruction by software applications and a virtual learning environment. There are many factors that could be regarded in a company's effort to implement or embrace new technology initiatives. As in the literature, many scientists and researchers have particularly explored the factors that influence the adoption of cloud computing along with e-learning issues based on cloud computing that are derived from standards models such as Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The aim of the study is to identify critical factors that impact the adoption of cloud computing-based e-learning for Iraqi higher education organizations. Indeed, we identified the 14 critical factors that affect cloud computing uptake for e-learning system in higher education organizations such as compatibility, complexity, cost saving, security and privacy, integrity, and etc. This research examines the ideas and literature used to examine adoption of cloud computing to define future variables that may influence the adoption of cloud computing
A geo-spatial cluster analysis of dengue vector epidemiology and a quantitative assessment of disease risk vulnerabilities: A case study in Royapuram, Chennai City (2018, 2019)
In India, dengue cases are rapidly increasing year by year. This study examined the spatial distribution of dengue through the hotspot analysis in Royapuram, Chennai city, India, during 2018 -2019. This study result indicated that the number of dengue cases infected higher among males than in female’s population and the more infected age group was between (15-64) adult population and most of the dengue cases were recorded in this age groups it based on this classification age group is more in number of populations. Spatial distribution of dengue cases was significantly identified the dengue hotspot in Royapuram, Chennai. Hotspot analysis of Dengue epidemiological incidences helped in identification the core vulnerability areas of disease risks. The study also analyzed the external environmental variables like rainfall and mosquito menace strongly determine the dengue cases in the year of 2018 – 2019. It was found that there was no positive correlation with of environmental variables on dengue cases. In this study were concluded spatial-temporal analysis hotspot and cold spot were detected using the geospatial technology
Individual and management factors in public health associated with failures and complications in patients with hemophilia in Colombia
The management of public health in Colombia reflects inequities in health and a great lag in the development of capacities at the national level. The stewardship of the health system presents serious difficulties associated with the decentralization process, as well as institutional weaknesses in the territorial entities as determining factors in the proper functioning of the system. To date, comprehensive health care models with a territorial approach, enshrined in current regulations, have not been implemented to guarantee quality health care for patients with hemophilia and other coagulopathies in Colombia. Orphan diseases such as hemophilia and other coagulopathies, although they have a low prevalence, are chronically debilitating, serious and highly complex to manage, so they require comprehensive approaches that guarantee access, quality, timeliness and efficiency in the management of institutions responsible. In addition, HCV and HIV coinfection is a relevant health problem in these patients
To determine the knowledge of gestational diabetes mellitus and its risk factors among antenatal mothers
Aim: To determine the knowledge of gestational diabetes mellitus and its risk factors among antenatal mothers. Methods: The study comprised 100 pregnant women who were accessible throughout the data collecting period and agreed to participate. Pregnant women who were unable to respond, such as severely sick moms, those who were unable to hear or communicate, and those who had a mental health condition, were omitted from the research. Pregnant women were given a pre-tested proforma to fill out in order to collect data. The proforma was translated into the participants' native language and distributed to them. They were then invited to complete the proforma on their own. The proforma was divided into two sections. Part 1: Questions regarding participants' socio - demographic details like name, age, education, occupation, income, etc., and details about like no. of pregnancies, no. of live children,,etc. Part 2: Questions to assess participants level of knowledge about Gestational diabetes mellitus Results: The research included 100 pregnant women in total. Only 19% of the 100 respondents had appropriate understanding about GDM. 51 percent of those polled had somewhat adequate knowledge. and 30% have insufficient knowledge about GDM
