The impact of biofilm on cefotaxime killing effect against Escherichia coli
Biofilms cause chronic infections that are difficult to treat because of the resistance of microorganisms inside them. The goal is to assess the killing potential of cefotaxime against Escherichia coli in biofilms obtained from clinical isolates kept in the clinical microbiology laboratory of Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Hospital. The study was conducted by laboratory experimental design. Two steps challenged the bacterial isolates by applying cefotaxime to the planktonic bacterial state and the biofilm state. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimum biofilm inhibitory concentration (MBIC), minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) and minimum biofilm eradication concentration (MBEC) were used as an indicator for comparison. Nineteen isolates of E coli were used for this experiment, 7 isolates with MIC of 0.125-0.25 μg/ml (36,84%), 6 isolates with MBC value 0.25-0.5 μg/ml (31,57%). The MBIC > 128 μg/ml is 6 isolates (31,57%), MBEC > 128 μg/ml is 14 isolates (73,68%). Cefotaxime had lower killing efficacy against E. coli in biofilm than in the planktonic phase. MBIC of E. coli requires cefotaxime at minimal 5 times two-fold increase from MIC, with an average 7-8 times. MBEC of E. coli requires cefotaxime concentration minimal 5 times two-fold dilution increase from MBC, with an average 8 - 9 times.

Effect of the otago exercise program on the lower extremity muscle strength in older women
An increased risk of falls in the elderly is associated with decreased muscle mass and strength in the lower limbs. The Otago Exercise Regimen (OEP) is a moderately challenging walking, flexibility, strengthening, and balancing exercise regimen. The Otago Exercise Program has been demonstrated to reduce the incidence of falls in elderly individuals by improving balance and muscular strength. This research sought to ascertain how the Otago Exercise Program influenced the lower limb muscular strength of older women. The research was done from October 2020 to May 2021. 26 individuals, split into a treatment group and a control group (13 people each). The moderate intensity Otago Exercise Program was administered to the treatment group for eight weeks, lasting 30 minutes three times each week. In this study, the parameter that assessed the muscular strength in the lower extremities was examined using the 30 second sit-to-stand (30STS) test. Two measurements are made: once prior to and once following the eight-week OEP period.
Impact of an education program on metabolic indicators for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention in Erbil city
Background: Regular education program provides better medication and diet adherence, leading to better metabolic control. Therefore, the study was conducted to improvemetabolic indicators, including body mass index (BMI), blood pressure (BP), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and high-density lipoprotein (HDL).Methods: A quasi-experimental study was conductedamong (n=200) coronary artery disease patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention at Surgical Specialty Hospital-Erbil Cardiac Center from March 2021 to May 2022. Retrospective study on rupture uterus, its causes and maternal-fetal outcome
Rupture uterus is a gravid complication which is commonly seen post uterine surgery in perinatal women leading to maternal morbidity and fetal death. Common causes are previous caeserian section, obstructed labour , malpresentations, multipara women etc. Patient presents with pain, uterine bleeding, fetal distress, and even death of fetus. We did a retrospective study in our institute in which we collected data of previous 4 years. Incidence of rupture was 0.2%. Most common risk factor was previous caeserian section and other uterine surgery. Unscarred uterus ruptured most commonly due to obstructed labour, other causes were malpresentation, multipara women and induction of labour. Majority of fetuses can not be saved due to late arrival to hospital. 49 patient required obstetric hysterectomy and rest 53 uterus repaired with or without ligation. Other complications were extension of rupture, bladder injury and hemoperitonium. We concluded that scarred uterus need to monitor closely at term and promt transportation and diagnosis can improve fetomaternal outcome

Comparative evaluation of shear bond strength of universal bonding agent and total-etch bonding agent on superficial and deep dentin: An in vitro study
Background: To conserve the tooth structure, bonded restorations are popular nowadays. Bonding to enamel is predictable by acid-etch technique. However, bonding to dentin remains a challenge. Aim: To determine the better bonding agent between universal bonding agent and total-etch bonding agents based on shear bond strength using universal testing machine.
Methodology: Eighteen human permanent mandibular molars were sectioned longitudinally to obtain thirty-six samples. Samples were randomly divided into three groups according to the bonding agent, Group A (Unbonded), Group B (Universal bonding agent) which was again divided into Subgroup B1 (Superficial dentin), Subgroup B2 (Deep dentin) and Group C (total-etch bonding agent) which was again divided into Subgroup c1 (Superficial dentin) ,Subgroup c2 (Deep dentin). Composite block was built up and samples were mounted in acrylic resin. Thermocycling was done and then samples were subjected to Universal testing machine. Statistical Analysis: The data was analysed using One-way ANOVA and Post hoc tests. Result: Universal bonding agent showed higher mean shear bond strength than total-etch bonding agent at both superficial and deep dentin level. Conclusion: The shear bond strengths of Universal Bonding agent and total-etch bonding agents were affected by the dentin level i.e., superficial and deep dentin
