Comparative study of semen physical characteristics and DNA sperm integrity in different breeds of falcon in Iraq
Get PDFThis study was conducted to evaluation of semen quality with the DNA integrity in the season of falcon in Iraq in the different breed (Saker falcon Falco peregrines, and Falco tinnunculus) due to selection of breeding falcons used in the reproduction .the objective of study was to characterize semen quality in the deferent species of falcon. A total of 24 semen sample were collected from males by massage method. Semen parameters include mass activity, individual motility, dead and alive, abnormality and DNA integrity. Mass activity varied between breeds mass activity observed significant (P≤0.05) in the middle period of season, individual motility shows significant between initial, middle and later of season (P≤0.05). The evaluation of viability show no significant between breeds. Some teratospermia recorded, micro-head, tailless, and immature sperms in the different breeds with no significant differences. DNA integrity revealed significant among the individual males (P≤0.05). In conclusion the season of reproduction in Iraq play a role of semen viability and quality between different falcon breeds in Iraq

Including the poetry of juxtaposition, the existence of which brought about solidarity with other hegemons in the text of the shrines, as well as the poetry of anecdotal news, because the news is one of the most prominent Arab narrative forms
Impact of plyometric sessions on agility for youth soccer players
Get PDFSoccer is the most popular game in the world. It combines several elements and abilities. Agility is one of the most important abilities to perform well. The study aimed to investigates impact of some plyometric sessions on developing agility for youth soccer players. Twenty-eight soccer youth players (age, 15 ± 0.2 years) were divided randomly into two groups an experimental group and a control group. Both groups were tested pre-test by Illinois agility test, and the experimental group has got their training for four weeks in the pre-competition period by two sessions per week, while the control group has kept their own training. The post-test was applied after four weeks and it showed significant results between pre and post-test for the Illinois agility test which showed 4% of improvement in the experimental group (p=0.11), The control group showed 1.5% of agility improvement (p=0.34). The results showed that 4 weeks of plyometric training in a pre-competition period does not highly improve agility for youth soccer players for the sport requires agility continuously by changing body positions each moment of play, Researchers recommend giving agility more sessions during the preparation period
Extraction, characterization and antibacterial activity of medicinal plants for the control of food pathogens
Get PDFPreservatives are substances that are added to food or used in cooking in order to stop it from going bad or growing bacteria that could make people sick. On the other hand, although these compounds are designed to prevent microbial spoilage of food, they frequently have unintended consequences for human health, the distribution network for food, and the evolution of microbial resistance. As a result of these challenges, it is becoming increasingly vital to find a natural preservative that is both safe and healthy for human consumption. In some circumstances, plant extracts are utilised both to treat and prevent food-borne illnesses. In the present study, Tinospora Cordifolia, Vitex Negundo, and Syzgium Cumini were used as a medicinal plants. Among the 3 different plant extracts, it was discovered that only one of them, the Vitex Negundo extract 400µg/ml plant extract, was shown high inhibition activity against the food pathogens. For the purpose of preventing food poisoning and preserving food, natural alternatives based on these potentially useful plant extracts can serve as an effective replacement for antibacterial agents that are generated using chemical processes.
 
Role of matrix metalloproteinase 9 gene polymorphism as genetic risk factor for lung cancer
Get PDFLung cancer (LC) is one of the most incident malignancies worldwide. This study investigated the potential role of matrix metalloproteinase9 gene (MMP9) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in Lung cancer patients. The study population was included 75 Iraqi patients with confirmed Lung cancer and 25 healthy people as controls. In this study, the -1562 C/T polymorphism in MMP9 gene was detected by restriction fragment length polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction (RFLP-PCR) technique. The genotype distribution results of the -1562 C/T SNP of MMP9 gene have shown no significant differences (p>0.05) between controls (CC: n= 15, 60%; CT: n=9, 36%; TT: n=1, 4%) and Lung cancer patients (CC: n= 44, 58.66%; CT: n=30, 40%; TT: n=1, 1.34%). Results of the association analysis between genotype distribution of the -1562 C/T SNP of MMP9 gene and clinicopathological criteria of cases such as histological grading, TNM staging and lymph node metastasis, had shown no significant association (p>0.05). While analysis of the association between genotype distribution of the -1562 C/T SNP of MMP9 gene and smoking status among patients were statically significant (p<0.05). These results suggested that the SNP in MMP9 gene was involved in lung cancer progression, tissue invasion and metastasis involvement
A study of quality of life in elderly

This study is an attempt to unravel the variables affecting the old age people residing in the rural areas of costal Karnataka. This may serve as a baseline data and help in future planning of the services for this section of elderly population. Aims and Objectives: To Study the Quality of Life in Elderly. Materials and Methods: Study design: This was a community based cross sectional study. Study period: The study was conducted over a period of one year, from Jan 2021 to Dec 2021. Study area: The study was conducted in neighbouring villages utilizing the health services of Rural field practice area, Department of Community Medicine, K.S.Hegde Medical Academy. Results: Majority of the study subjects felt they enjoy a good quality of life (63.9%). Conclusion: The overall mean scores in Physical and Psychological domains of the study subjects were higher compared to Social and Environmental domain

Get PDFThe present invention is directed to a method for producing an ophthalmic pharmaceutical formulation containing a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, hydroxyl ethyl cellulose (HEC), and a beta-adrenergic antagonist for the treatment of ocular hypertension and glaucoma that is free of benzalkonium chloride and other preservatives. The current production technique is a simpler, more cost-effective method of preparing pharmaceutical ophthalmic formulations in a single tank without the usage of extra sterile-filtered tanks. For individuals with newly diagnosed glaucoma, optical therapy is usually the initial line of treatment. Preservatives are essential in all multi-dose ophthalmic drugs to maintain an antibacterial environment in the container, thus eye care professionals must be aware of the effects of preservatives on the ocular surface
DMBA induced mammary tumor study of Phyto-fabricated sliver nanoparticles from Russelia Equisetiformis flower extract in rat

There are several forms of treatment and care available in the globe for tumors, the most common of which being chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery with lots of harmful responses. Cancer has been treated since ancient times by herbs with various herbs and metals. synthesized AgNPs-REEE were characterized by Analytical methods such as dynamic light scattering (DLS), Zeta potential, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS).All of the animals in this study had tumors caused by DMBA Apart from the vehicle control group, and they were divided into different groups such as only DMBA(7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene) induced group, treatment group of ethanolic extract of Russelia equisetiformis (REEE) flower and sliver nanoparticles of ethanolic extract of Russelia equisetiformis (REEE) flower and sliver nanoparticles of ethanolic extract (AgNPs -REEE).the dose were decide by acute toxicity study. After compaction treatment time all animal were sacrifices and evaluate parameter like tumor weight, Tumor volume, biochemical parameter, hormonal assay and histopathology of breast tumor. It is observed that the size distribution of AgNPs ranges from 50 to 950 nm.

Craniocaudal length of right lobe and body mass index of subjects showing +ve correlation (r=0.356) and correlation between ccl of rt lobe and BMI of subjects is significant at 5% level of significance.
