    Get PDF
Pollution, an unhealthy lifestyle, UV radiation, and other factors can contribute to skin cancer. A variety of machine learning techniques have been developed in the past to detect such malignancies before they worsen. The goal of this article is to utilize a convolutional neural network to segment skin lesion images. The purpose of this study is to see how deep learning may be utilized to segment skin lesion photos. People may discover what skin diseases they may have, how to protect themselves from it, and what measures they can take early on to successfully treat the disease using Artificial Intelligence. Machine learning may be used to diagnose the problem and help us predict the result. The most widely used classification technology is the support vector machine. The discoveries might help doctors treat sickness early on and avoid further deterioration

Impact of personality traits on study habits and educational aspirations of arts and science college students

    Get PDF
Personality refers to individual differences in thoughts, emotions, behavioural thoughts or imaginary patterns. The study of personality concentrates on two wide areas: One is understanding individual variations in specific personality traits, like friendliness or peevishness. The other is seeing how the differentcharacteristics of an individual meet up overall. Trait psychology lays on the possibility that individualswill differ depending on where they stand on the side of a set of importantattributes that persist over time and conditions. The broadpattern of attributes is known as the Five Factor Model. Study skills, academic skill, or researchmethodologies are the concepts areutilised to learning. Study skills are a variety of abilities which tackle the most common way of taking and organizing in,innovativesource, retaining data, or managingappraisals. In a broader sense, subjects that supportthe ability of those study, retain and reviewuseful and tested informationcan be treated as learning skills, which may include time management and persuasivestrategies. Educational requirements reflect the educational goals that one has set. It is significance as it empowers and energizes the person to accomplish them. The reasons of this essay are to analyse the impact of three sets of indicators: background, parental involvement, and student personal or educational self-assessment.

In particular, the berries of sea buckthorn have been widely used as a food source like jam, juices, etc. The berry and seed of this plant are the main sources for its therapeutic and nutritional values. Thus, the plant has been extensively investigated for both of its nutritional and bioactive constituents. In general, the berries of this plant are rich in vitamins (C, E and K); while the ascorbic acid has been reported to be the primary vitamin, contributing to the acidic nature of the berries. Sea buckthorn berries also contain good amount of minerals like calcium and iron. On the other hand, the seed of sea buckthorn offers an excellent source of polyunsaturated fatty acids like palmitic acid, oleic acid and palmitoleic acid. Significant bioactive constituents in sea buckthorn including sitosterol, salicylic acid, tritepenoid, catechin, gallocatechin, epigallocatechin and carotenoids help in combating many diseases like cardiovascular diseases (angina), inflammation, cancer, gastric ulcer and epidermis issues. This review compiled the applications of sea buckthorn including a database of its nutritional and bioactive compounds which ultimately contribute towards the health promoting properties.&nbsp

Dimocarpus longan phytocompounds possess anticancer activity by specifically targeting breast cancer biomarkers via computational biology tools

    Get PDF
Worldwide, breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer among women. Natural plant compounds with anticancer potential can block BC biomarkers, but they must be chosen carefully to avoid adverse side effects. In this research, the interaction between the BC biomarkers and plant compounds from Dimocarpus Longan was studied using a molecular docking approach. Twenty plant constituents from longan and two target proteins considered involved in BC (1ERR: Estrogen receptor and 3D90: Progesterone receptor) were obtained from the PubChem database and RCSB Protein Data Bank (PDB) respectively. They were docked using the SwissDock server. Then, the drug-likeness of the plant compounds that demonstrated interaction was evaluated. The results show that 1ERR and 3D90 had the lowest binding affinity with the L-epicatechin at the value of -9.5 and -8.3 kcal/mol respectively. These proteins had the most stable interaction with their plant compounds. The toxicity prediction analysis revealed that L-epicatechin is not safe to use as a drug due to AMES toxicity. All of the ten compounds had low binding scores, indicating that they had good interactions. Therefore, α-terpineol was chosen to use as a safe drug. The findings of this study should aid pharmaceutical researchers in identifying longan-based medications

Implementation of the lattice model in the coexistence of species and its potential consequences on environment

    Get PDF
The population dynamics of a system of two competing species have been investigated in the mean-field and lattice approximation. The two species are denoted by A and B. Each site of the square lattice is either occupied by an individual or vacant. The two species complete for vacant sites to reproduce. There is a reproduction only to the nearest neighbours. We consider the invasion of a rare species into a population composed of a resident species based on a pair – approximation method in which the dynamics of both average densities and nearest neighbour correlations are considered. The results are then compared with those obtained by the mean-field approximation. Whenspecies B contain intraspecific interaction term, invasion of the rare species A into resident species B becomes easier in lattice structured populations. But the rare species B invading species A is difficult in lattice models in comparison to mean-field approximation. The overall coexistence of species is enhanced in lattice models. These results were verified by simulation on a square lattice although the range of the enhancement of the species coexistence is reduced. This calls for the attention that pair-approximation is an oversimplification of the real situation
