Application of nanotechnology could even increase thesuccess rate of regeneration owing to biomimetic modifications in stem cells and scaffolds, which may soon be translated to clinical practice. This review highlights the important research activities in regeneration of dental pulp in collaboration with nanotechnology
Lamina papyracea position in patients with allergic nasal polypi: A computed tomography analysis
Objective: This study aimed to describe the variations of the position of lamina papyracea (LP) in patients with allergic nasal polyposis candidate for functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), by computed tomography (CT) analysis. Méthod: Paranasal CT scan of patients diagnosed to have allergic nasal polypi were included in this study and positions of lamina papyracea were registered then analyzed in relation to allergic sinonasal polypi grading. Results: fifty subjects (100 nasal sides) were included in the current study. Grade of nasal polypi was not necessarily associated with certain grade of lamina payracea. Conclusion: This study improves surgeons’ awareness of LP position in different grades of allergic sinonasal polypi and highlights that meticulous preoperative reading of every CT is the key to avoid LP injury during FESS

A cross sectional study on digital eye strain among undergraduate medical students in a medical college in South India
Background: Digital eye strain has been a matter of serious concern since the usage of digital devices has increased exponentially in the last few years. Several individuals suffer from physical discomfort, vague pain in the eyes, neck, head & shoulders, dryness, blurring & watering of eyes after screen use for longer than two hours at a time. The collection of these symptoms are referred to as digital eye strain. Purpose: To evaluate the prevalence, symptoms and associated risk factors of digital eye strain among undergraduate medical students in a medical college in South India. Material & Methods: This was a cross sectional study conducted among undergraduate medical students of a medical college located in south India using structured questionnaire administered through online social media. Results: 596 students responded to this questionnaire. Out of these 596 respondents, 351 students(58.89%) reported experiencing the symptoms of DES. Eye strain (34.10%),frequent headache(28.9%),rubbing of eyes (26.0%),watering (21.3%), burning sensation in eye(17.4%), redness (11.4%)were the symptoms reported by the subjects. Prolonged Use of digital devices, presence of refractive errors and inadequate use of photochromic spectacles and dependence on social media for academic and recreational purposes were the important causes for development of DES
Rising above (S) exploitation: The voice of Santhal women as represented by Sowvendra Shekhar Hansda
Empowering the women in literary context has always taken the academia on storm. The latent desire of authors and scholars to see an egalitarian world has been channelised in contextualising the female self-sureness in their authors characterisation. However, women characters of mainstream society have gained acclaimed acknowledgement way before than the ones belonging to the marginal communities. The belief that Tribal women are less participative and contributively less active in tribal ecriture has reigned the scholastic views. Such perception has changed its course in post-colonial era and the tribal women have found their voice in their characterisation. The present article challenges the resigned perceivability of the Santhal women and maps on how they have been empowered by the sole Santhal writer writing in English, Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar. He aces up to bring them to the frontier. Wide array of women characters from various socio-economic framework, within the Santhal community, form the content of his discussion. The concerned Santhal community has never seen such textual presentation of their women in broader platform and the Anglophone contemporary writer, Hansda, is instrumental in his competence of writing his texts in English to reach out to the vast range of audienc
A hormonal study of the effect of sesame oil in female albino rats whose ovaries had been removed
This study was conducted to investigate the physiological effect of sesame seed oil (Sesamum indicum) in the case of oral treatment on post-menopause and the occurrence of surgical menopause as a result of the removal of the ovaries, by studying the changes in some hormones in the blood serum of adult female albino rats (Albino Rats). as 15 adult rats about three months old, with weights ranging from 160-180 g were used. The animals were randomly divided into three groups with five animals for each group. The first group represented the negative control, which was normal without removal of the ovaries, and the second represented the positive control that was removed The ovaries were completely removed, and the third group completely removed the ovaries and treated them orally with sesame oil at a concentration of 4 ml/ kg of body weight per day for 30 days. The results of laboratory tests for serum samples of the completely removed ovaries group compared to the negative control group showed a significant decrease (P<0.05) in the levels of estrogen and progesterone, while an insignificant increase )P (0.05<in prolactin levels was observed, and significant (P<0.05) for follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteal stimulating hormone (LH).
