Expression of genes in the pathogenesis of ameloblastoma, dentigerous cyst and odontogenic keratocyst
This systematic review seeks to provide high-quality evidence on expression of genes in the pathogenesis of ameloblastoma, dentigerous cyst and odontogenic keratocyst. Until 2021, a systematic electronic literature search was undertaken utilizing keywords and MESH search phrases in the PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Central, Scopus, and EBSCO databases, as well as Google Scholar. In addition, the reference lists of the systematic reviews included in the study were manually searched. Articles were evaluated critically, and the MINORS scale was used to determine the risk of bias. Ameloblastoma (AB), dentigerous cyst (DC), and odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) are odontogenic lesions that have the potential to become malignant or spread locally. The molecular mechanisms underlying the development of these lesions remain unknown. However, several studies have found that tumor suppressor genes or oncogenes are dysregulated in these lesions. P53 gene downregulation has been observed in AB, DC, and OKC cells. Furthermore, several long non-coding RNAs have been found to be dysregulated in AB tissues, including ENST00000512916 and KIAA0125. Certain forms of odontogenic lesions have been linked to single nucleotide polymorphisms in a range of genes.
A comparative study of depression in elderly men and women following major fractures
Background: Depression accounts for approximately 8.2% of people living with disability worldwide. Depression and fractures are a common occurrence especially elderly who are predisposed to fractures due to low bone mineral density. Clinical Depression is linked to high cortisol levels and low mineral density. As most studies correlating fractures in the elderly and its association with depression have been done in the western countries, we felt the need to pursue a study to compare fractures in elderly men and women and its association with depression in the Indian population. Methods: This was a prospective study done over two years with continuous sampling method. The study included 90 inpatients (51males and 39females) with fractures of long bone and hip needing prolonged rehabilitation. Patients above 65 years of age admitted with fractures of long bones and hip were examined using Beck’s depression inventory. The data was tabulated and compared between males and females. Results: We found 58.96% of females suffered from some form of depression as opposed to 39.21% of males. We found statistically significant association between depression and female suffering from major fractures.
In vitro antioxidant and antibacterial activity of Quercetin isolated from Indigofera aspalathoides and Quercetin-Zinc metal complex
Plant secondary metabolites play a crucial role in the therapeutic applications due to their non toxic nature. The present study was aimed to explore the antioxidant and antibacterial potential of a natural flavonoid Quercetin isolated from the plant Indigofera aspalathoides and Quercetin-Zinc (Qn-Zn) metal complex. The study results explored that, the both Quercetin and Qn-Zn metal complex displayed a strong free radicals quencher against the DPPH, ABTS and superoxide anion free radicals. In addition to that, it has also possessed antibacterial activity against the gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus Subtilis, Enterococcus faecalis) and gram negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) human pathogenic bacteria. Moreover, we found that and Qn-Zn metal complex displayed slightly better activity than the Quercetin. Overall, the present findings are demonstrated that, the biological activities of natural flavonoid Quercetin were increased, when it’s combined with Zinc metal complex
Immunology concepts for secondary biology teachers: A survey study
The research aims to know the concepts of immunity for biology teachers of the secondary stage, and to achieve this goal the researchers constructed a multiple choice test for the concepts of immunity, its types and its related fields and contents consisting of (26) test items with three alternatives only one of which represents the correct answer and was chosen A sample consisting of (254) teachers and a school of biology for the secondary stage belonging to the Education Directorates in the Diwaniyah and Karbala governorates, by (20) teachers and a school as a preliminary survey sample, (132) teachers and a school for a second survey sample (the statistical analysis sample), and (102) A teacher and a school is a sample of the final application of the test after making sure of its validity and consistency, and the results showed that teachers possess an appropriate level of information related to concepts of immunology and the absence of statistically significant differences in the level of possession of immunity concepts according to the gender variable between male and female teachers, and the research came out with a set of recommendations
Response of sunflower genotypes Helianthus annuus L. to amounts of nitrogen fertilizer on growth characteristics and components
The field experiment was carried out during the spring and fall season of 2021 in Basra Governorate, Al-Haritha area. The study aimed to studying the response of 6 genotypes of the sunflower which symbolized by the symbol (V ) V1 = local, V2 = moons, V3 = Ishaqi 1, V4 = Ishaqi 2, V5 = Turki Tarzan , V6 = shmoos, And four levels of nitrogen fertilizer symbolized by the symbol (N0) (N = 0 without fertilizer (control), N1 = ( N 100 kg. ha-1 ) , N2 = ( N 200 kg. ha-1 ) , N3 = ( N 300 kg. ha-1 ). According to the complete randomized block design, R.C.B.D. With three replicates and in the order of Split Plot Design (the levels of nitrogen fertilization were distributed in the main plots and the cultivars in the sub-plot). The results have shown superior to the genotypes shmoos, Moons, and Ishaqi2 compared to other cultivars in the studied traits, and most of the yield components as; plant height, leaf area, weight of 1000 seeds total seed yield. In comparison, the study showed the superiority of the fertilizer level 300 kg N. ha- 1 Significant in the traits mentioned earlier.
Rare case of neonate with meconium peritonitis
It's unusual to find a meconium cyst in a premature newborn. Meconium pseudo cyst is a consequence of meconium peritonitis, a sterile chemical peritonitis caused by a perforation of the uterine tract. When a puncture in the intestine does not heal and communication with the cyst continues after birth, the cyst can expand, the cyst can get infected, and the pseudo cyst can rupture. This is a case report of a newborn who developed perforated peritonitis due to the rupture of a meconium pseudo cyst [1]. Our patient was born prematurely at 34 weeks and had a caesarean procedure. She had a large abdominal distention that was later confirmed as a meconium cyst
Developing new treatment modalities from poorly dissolvable antihypertensive: Courtesy delivery system design &niche technologies
Most antihypertensive drugs have impaired dissolution rate and result from poorly aqueous solubility, polymorphic modifications, structure-based H-bond donor or acceptor anamolies. These physical attributes would have detrimental effects and may cause an entity out of the race from efficacious candidates. Nevertheless, compliance with the dissolution rate must be fulfilled under the regulatory mandate and serve as an assessment tool for product performance. The present reviews the niche technologies like electrospinning, spraying, or mesoporous methods that led to the generation of more dissolvable antihypertensives. Several drug delivery systems design allows the incorporation of surfactants, microenvironment dissolution rate modifiers, acidifiers that could improve the dissolution rate of antihypertensives are reviewed
Opioid sparing multimodal analgesia enhances surgery recovery and reduces chronic postoperative surgical pain
MMA was one important component in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS). MMA combines opioid and non-opioid medication through different routes and mechanisms of action and covers the whole perioperative period, thus minimizing opioid use and preventing chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP). There was consensus that MMA could avoid opioid overdose originated from poor acute post-surgical pain control with opioid-dominant pain management in the era of opioid epidemic
Detection of bacterial and fungal contamination unsalted and salated cheese in markets of Samara city-Iraq
This study was conducted on 60 samples of local dairy products from fresh unsalted white sheep cheese, locally manufactured pasteurized and non-pasteurized, as well as salted cheese found in the local markets of Samarra city. For the period form January to March 2021, which microbial tests were carried out, included the total bacterial number, the total count of Coliform, and the total number of molds. Research results showed a high content of unsalted cheese from the Microorganisms that included a number of human pathogens and food poisoning triggers. The results in this study showed the emergence of five different types of bacteria, namely Salmonella, ,Escherichia coli, Shigella, Brucelle and Staphylococcus aureus. The highest numbers, ranging from (7000) × 10 - 3 in unsalted cheese samples, were significantly higher than salted cheese samples, with the highest percentage (300) × 10-3 for fungi. These species appeared in local products studied and were more often in unsalted and non-pasteurized cheese samples. Also, studied allergic types for Antibiotic
Some theories on the process of forming the criminal's personality
The formation and development of personality is a long and complicated process. In that process, the internal and external factors, the biological and the social, often interact with each other, and the role of each factor changes in each stage of each person's development. In the process of life, people acquire life experiences, beliefs, habits... and vice versa, when receiving anything, personality is also based on social standards to adjust their behavior. Not only that, they also rely on the inside, their own experiences to evaluate, accept or reject the outside. Thus, this process is always associated with the self-evaluation and self-consciousness of each person and thus, is associated with the self-education process, the self-improvement process of the personality. Personality is not something finished, but a process that requires constant improvement
