Post-thyroidectomy hypocalcemia and related complications: A review
The incidence of post-thyroidectomy hypocalcemia is high while the factors involved include age (> 50 years), type of operation, operative time, neck dissection, histology of the surgical specimen and vocal fold paralysis. Low ionic calcium concentrations are indicative of the presence of symptoms of hypocalcemia and the need for oral calcium. Progression to definitive hypoparathyroidism occurs only in patients with clinical manifestations of post-thyroidectomy hypocalcemia. In general, the problem with post-surgical hypoparathyroidism resides in the surgical procedure itself. The most common are related to neuronal hyperexcitability, which explains the paresthesias, cramps and numbness, which usually start in the perioral region and on the fingertips. Muscle spasms and muscle stiffness are also common. When severe, hypocalcemia can lead to life-threatening spastic tetany, laryngospasm, and seizures. The current manuscript aimed to present a review of the bibliography on thyroidectomy and negative impact of its complications on human health, mainly because of a higher risk for developing hypocalcemia. To achieve the study goal, this review covered most recent published articles from 2017 onward
Survey noise exposure and fasting and their effect on salivary cortisol on hospital staff
Introduction: One of the most important risk factors in workplace is noise pollution and it affects the quality of human life. Especially these effects on the hospital environment are more impressive because these workplaces should be calm. This study aimed to investigate the combined effects of noise exposure and fasting on saliva cortisol levels at two hospitals staff. Method: This study included 75 participants of two hospital worker.A calibrated noise level meter (Cel- 231, UK) was used to measurement noise levels in two hospitals parts. Also, Saliva cortisol levels assessed in two different situations: fasting and feeding. Descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test and regression analysis were used as statistical tools of this study with P<0.05. Results: our result showed that sound pressure levels (mean ± SD) in Amiralmomenei hospital and Abozar hospital were 75.3±6 and 76.9±5, respectively. Salivary cortisol levels in samples with normal feeding and fasting showed significant difference (P<0.05).Also, comparison between salivary cortisol levels in without noise exposure and noise exposure in fasting time showed significant difference (P<0.05). Salivary cortisol levels in workers in two hospitals were different (P<0.05).
Comparison of the effect of feed fermentation with the wet and dried Iraqi probiotic on the productive performance of Japanese quail birds
The experiment was conducted in the poultry field of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine \ Al-Kafeel Company (10) km south of Karbala Governorate, using 90 birds of Japanese quail to know the effect of feed fermentation with wet and dry probiotics on the productive performance of Japanese quail birds. The birds were randomly distributed into 3 treatments (30). bird / treatment) in duplicate for each treatment, and the treatments were as follows: The first treatment(T1) included a standard diet without addition or fermentation (control treatment), the second treatment (T2) included a standard diet to which water and locally prepared probiotic at a concentration of 5 g/kg were added to feed to be fermented and served dried, the third treatment(T3) included a standard diet to which water and locally prepared probiotic at a concentration 5 g/kg were added to be fermented and served wet. The results showed that there were no significant differences between the fermentation treatments and the control treatment in the rates of feed consumption, while the effect was significant on the percentage of egg production, the weight of the eggs produced, and in the qualitative characteristics of the egg in the two treatments.
The effect of physical activity on the quality of life and mental health of Ferdowsi university students whose field of study was not physical education during the Covid-19 pandemic
Purpose: The present study aimed to examine the effect of physical activity on the quality of life and mental health of Ferdowsi University students whose field of study was not physical education during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Method: The method of study was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of this present study consisted of all male and female students of Ferdowsi University whose field of study was not physical education and they had chosen physical education 1 and Sports 1. Data were collected from 375 Ferdowsi University students whose field of study was not physical education and they were selected randomly. Data collection was done through Physical Activity Questionnaire by Wickramarachchi et al. (2021), Mental Health Questionnaire by Proto. & Quintana-Domeque (2021), and Quality of Life Questionnaire by Epifanio et al. (2021). The validity and reliability of the questionnaires were also confirmed and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the data.Findings: The results showed a direct and statistically significant effect of physical activities on the quality of life, which was obtained at 0.958.
Digital tools used by teachers for assessing learners with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Implications for career transitioning
Research has shown that the use of digital assessment tools enhances learners’ engagement in their learning process outside the school environment. Unfortunately, the use of digital tools is contemptible in low-and-middle income countries. In this study, the researcher examined the digital tools used by teachers for assessing learners with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The study employs a qualitative, phenomenological approach. Using a purposive sampling procedure, six university teachers from three geographical regions in southern Nigeria participated in the study. The use of digital assessment tools was assessed through a structured interview. The responses of the participants were analysed thematically. The findings identified some of the digital assessment tools used by teachers as well as the associated challenges. Specifically, the study established that Google form, Socrative, and Kahoot form were the digital assessment tools mostly used by the teachers in assessing learners with ADHD. The study also revealed that the major challenges of using these digital tools include lack of device, network glitches, poor power supply and high cost of data. The implications of the study were highlighted and recommendations were made.

The possibility of controlling on Aspergillus terreus produciny Aflatoxine isolation from some Chips local and imporet pleurotus ostereatus plauate and Sodium bicarbonate
After study HPLC technique showed that the highest concentration of Aflatoxin B1 toxin was due to the filterate of Aspergillus terreus isolate of the chips sample, which amounted to 193.9 ppb, and this isolate was phenotypically diagnosed using taxonomic keys as well as molecularly diagnosed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique in addition to base sequence analysis phylogenetic tree analysis for the purpose of comparing the isolate of the contaminated fungus A.terreus with the isolates previously registered in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). P.ostreatus filtrate and sodium bicarbonate proved their inhibitory ability for both radial growth and dry weight of the contaminated fungus, This study show effect toxin inside histo pathology of liver and kidney in mice
Internet crimes to legal regulation
With the spread of modern means of technology among individuals in societies and the widespread use of them and the expansion of dealing through them, every individual in society can communicate without any barriers or geography, with the availability of the ability to transmit and receive information and technologies, to obtain data and programs with all ease, and with the many advantages and benefits that accompanied the emergence of this new and advanced technology of science and knowledge, but this was accompanied by the emergence of many problems and negatives that appeared in the form of a crime committed by some users of technology, which is characterized by its danger and ease of committing and the dilemma of crossing the borders, which can be called cyber. It was necessary to confront these crimes through multiple means, including criminal legal protection, which is considered the most important means of society in maintaining its security and protecting its interests.
The Paris system in reporting urinary cytology and correlating with follow up histopathological evaluation, in tertiary care hospital
Introduction: Away from diagnostic importance, urinary tract endoscopy is a painful, expensive and time consuming procedure. Now a time, The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology (TPSRUC) has lead to prime changes in the perspective of assessment in urine cytology and pattern of reporting. Our focus in this study was to evaluate the impact of implementing The Paris system in reporting urinary cytology and correlating with follow up histopathological evaluation. Patients & Method: It is a Retrospective study of 6 months duration, from January 2021 to June 2021 using 156 urine samples in Cytology section, Department of pathology at Dhiraj hospital Waghodia. All freshly collected urine specimens were centrifuge, prepared as Thin slides fixed with methanol and stained with Hematoxylin & eosin (H&E) and Papanicolaou stain then evaluated under light microscopy. Results: In total, 156 cytology specimens the sample was composed of 90 (58%) men and 66 (42%) women (the ratio of men to women was 1.4:1).
Psychometric properties of the questionnaire on citizen security in the Peruvian general population
The opinion on citizen security service is a little studied and relevant topic, and there are no measurement instruments with evidence of validity and reliability. Therefore, the aim of the study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the Citizen Security Questionnaire in the general Peruvian population. The sample consisted of 11,274 people aged 15 to 89 years (M = 30.93; SD = 12.99). A Confirmatory Factor Analysis was applied on the original structure of five dimensions, finding poor adjustment indexes, so that, according to the modification indexes, two modifications were added, and an adequate adjustment of the model was achieved, maintaining the original structure. The internal consistency was high for the dimensions and the total evidence of the stability of the factorial structure was found through the equivalence of the measurement according to sex, age and the condition of having suffered an assault. Robust comparative analyses were applied according to sociodemographic variables, finding statistically significant differences, but with small effect sizes that coincide with previous studies. In general, the citizen security questionnaire presents adequate psychometric properties to assess the opinion on citizen security service in the general Peruvian population.
Obstetrical and perinatal outcome in pregnancies through assisted reproductive technique: A retrospective study
Introduction: Certain types of infertility such as severe male factors and complete tubal obstruction will require Assisted reproductive technique (ART). ART is associated with increased likelihood of GDM, chronic hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus leading to further more complications like polyhydroamnios, PIH, accidental haemorrhage, oligohydroamnios, PROM, pre-eclamsia etc. Aim and objective: To study obstetrical and perinatal outcome in pregnancy conceived with ART. Methods: A retrospective study was done at AMC MET medical college, Ahmedabad and data were collected of patients who had conceived through ART admitted in LG hospital. The maternal and fetal condition was noted as per records. Result: ART group had higher age group and BMI, obstetrical complications were multiple preganancies (in more than half women), PIH, oligohydroamnios and prematurity (>40%). We observe more caesarean section rate because of apprehension from doctor and patient side, other than of course increased medical and obstetrical complications. There was increased incidence of peripartum complications like PPH and Obstetrical hysterectomy. Fetal complications such IUGR, prematurity, fetal anomaly and IUD was seen more frequently in ART group.
