Role of platelets rich plasma in tendinopathy: A teaching hospital based study
Background: Medication and steroid injection therapy only help to reduce the pain, but exercise is effective as a treatment for regaining function in addition to reduction of pain in tendinopathy. Tendinopathy is a major medical problem. It can be defined as a syndrome of tendon pain, localized tenderness, and swelling that impairs performance. In chronic tendinopathy thee is an increasing degree of degeneration with little or no inflammation present. The application of PRP has been documented in many fields. First promoted by M. Ferrari in 1987 as an autologous transfusion component after an open heart operation to avoid homologous blood product transfusion, there are now over 5200 entries in the NCBI for PRP ranging in fields from orthopaedics, sports medicine, dentistry, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, urology, wound healing, cosmetic, cardiothoracic and maxillofacial surgery. Materials and Methods: Our prospective study conducted in the Department of Orthopaedics, Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha, Haryana, India. Patients with chronic tendinopathy like supraspinatus tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy, tendo A chilles tendinopathy, planter fasciitis, medial epicondylar tendinopathy, lateral epicondylar tendinopathy came to our hospital included in the study after obtaining their informed consent
Assessment of stress level among women with spontaneous abortion
Fertility is highly valued in most cultures, and the desire to have a child is one of the most basic human desires. However, failed fertility and pregnancy efforts can be a traumatic emotional experience for the mother, jeopardizing her mental health. Pregnancy is linked to a high amount of mental stress, and spontaneous abortion is a physically and psychologically stressful occurrence that often results in Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms (PTSS). As a result, the aim of the study was to assess stress level among women with spontaneous abortion and find out the relationship between stress level and some women’s sociodemographic and reproductive characteristics. زA non-probability selection strategy was used to select a purposive sample of 150 aborted women for a descriptive correlational study. This study started on 1st October 2022, to 25th April, 2022. The reliability of the questionnaire was achieved through a pilot study and then presented to experts to prove its validity. The data was analyzed by the application of a descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis approach. The study results indicated that 40% of women are experiencing severe stress level while 38.7% are experiencing mild stress level (M±SD= 10.06±7.827).
Effect of simplified Kundalini Yoga on low density lipoprotein and high density lipoprotein among middle aged obese women
The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of Simplified kundalini yoga on Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) among middle aged obese women. It was hypothesized that there would be significant differences due to Simplified kundalini yoga on Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) among middle aged obese women than the Control group. For the purpose of the study, 30 middle aged obese women were selected randomly from Chennai between the age group of 40 and 50 years and were divided into two groups, the Experimental group and the Control group having 15 subjects each. Pre-tests were taken for all the subjects of the Experimental group and the Control group on Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) before the training program. Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) were measured in a standardized laboratory. The Experimental group practiced Simplified kundalini yoga for twelve weeks, excluding Sundays and the Control group was given no training. After the experimental period of twelve weeks, post-tests were taken on Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) on both the groups.
Development of health mix powder to combat anaemia
In India, anaemia is a leading cause of death. According to statistics, anaemia is the cause of every maternal fatality. Anaemia is a nutritional illness that affects both adults and children of both sexes, however it is more common in pregnant women and teenage girls and is caused mostly by iron deficiency. Iron and other critical elements required for iron metabolism are abundant in leaves of Moringa oleifera. An increasing finding have found extracts of M. oleifera leaves that aqueous alcohol, or hydro alcohol have a variety of extra activities of biologically, including antiulcer, tissue protective (heart, kidneys, testes, liver, or lungs), radio protective, antioxidant, analgesic, immunomodulatory and antihypertensive properties. The Central Council for Ayurvedic Research has issued preliminary recommendations for standardising commonly used formulas. Standardization of herbal formulations is necessary for determining the quality of pharmaceuticals based on the quantity of active ingredients, as well as physical and chemical parameters. We will briefly discuss many elements of herbal medicinal properties of Moringa oleifera
Vitamin D status: A case study of Surat city
Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is very important for overall health. Our body produces vitamin D3 naturally, whenever we get exposure to the sun. Therefore, people who are not in the habit of going out in the sun may have a deficiency of vitamin D3. The climate of Surat city is moderate with average temperatures of 37 degrees, 32 degrees and 23 degrees Celsius in summer, monsoon and winter, respectively, yet deficiency of vitamin D3 prevails in the population of the city. Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin which helps the body to absorb calcium and phosphorus and is essential for building robust bone health. The studies available in the present literature are longitudinal in nature and most have small sample sizes. Therefore, in this paper, an attempt was made to give an idea of a picture regarding the level of vitamin D3 in the population of Surat city. Some of the major findings are: D3 level is found statistically significantly different age-wise as well as gender-wise.
Conflict between authoritarianism and liberalization: The Feast of the Goat by Mario Vargas Llosa
Vargas Llosa worked on the terms by clarifying and illustrating the liberal principles that underpin it through a detailed examination of his most recent novel the Feast of the Goat (2000). The goal of this reading of the novel is not to evaluate the text's socio-historical fidelity or to investigate the mimetic processes of the narrative; however interesting these concerns may be, they are the subject of a different type of study. Instead, this article will focus on the novel's exploration of the conflict between authoritarianism and liberalism, specifically between the tyrants will to power and the people's free will, in terms of democratic practice and individual liberty. Vargas Llosa's novel can be traced back to the mid-1970s when he filmed Captain Pantoja and the Special Service in the Dominican Republic. However, as Vargas Llosa (in Jaggi 2002:31) notes, “Fujimori was quite different from Trujillo, a more mediocre tyrant.” Money was his main ambition and appetite. What Trujillo desired was power. However, Vargas Llosa's novel differs from the dictator novels of Bastos, Carpentier, and Marquez

Functional and radiological outcome measures of surgically treated unstable distal radius fractures using a variable angle volar locking compression plate
Background: Various treatment modalities have been described to manage unstable distal end radius fractures. The use of variable angle volar locking compression plates is promoted for the management of these difficult fractures. Objectives: Objective was to evaluate the clinical and radiological outcomes in surgically treated unstable distal radius fractures with variable angle volar locking compression plates. Patients and Methods: We reviewed 23 out of 36 unstable distal end radius fractures that were surgically treated with variable angle volar locking compression plates at our institute. The mean age of these patients were 32.82 _ 11.81 years (range 19 to 62) and the mean follow-up duration was 11.04_2.47 months (range 6 to 15). All of them underwent open reduction and internal fixation with a variable angle volar locking compression plate. Radiological parameters measured were radial inclination, length, tilt, and ulnar variance. These were measured at six weeks and at the final follow up. The functional evaluation was by measuring the range of motion at the wrist and the grip strength. To assess the final outcome Gartland and Werley’s demerit scoring system was used
