Prevalence of TB-HIV coinfection burden in a tertiary care center from 2018 to 2020, A retrospective four-year study
HIV is the most important cause of death amoung tuberculosis patient. About 25 % of all causes of death. HIV promote progression of latent TB infection, which become difficult to diagnose initially later on comorbidity and mortality leads to late diagnosis and death of patients. The current study was from Jan 2018 to Dec 2021, and a retrospective study design was conducted. Many TB patients were found to be hidden HIV infection so active screening is needed, for active case finding. Proper recording should be design, data including phone number should be collected for proper follow-up
Intimate partner violence in young adults and it’s influence on development of relationships
Intimate Partner Violence has become one of the most relevant concerns in the dynamics of romantic relationships in young adults. Research suggests that even though it is prevalent in male and female genders, the experience of male victims have not been explored. The objective of this study was to explore the experience of Intimate Partner Violence collectively from the lens of young male and female survivors and to understand it’s influence on development of future relationships. Participants were survivors of IPV within the age between 18-25. A thematic analysis identified overarching common themes for both the groups highlighting their experience: Reality alteration, Changing the Narrative, Controlling behavior, Tolerating abuse, Influence on personal characteristics and Influence in future relationships. Future researches can be conducted to delve deeper into the gender dynamics of Intimate Partner Violence and on constructing effective rehabilitation plan for the survivors of Intimate Partner Violence
Aortic aneurysm in Behcet’s disease, endovascular management options: Single-center experience
This study aims to review contemporary lines of endovasular management of Aortic aneurysm in bechet’s disease illustrating the pros and cons of each treatment modality. This is a retrospective cohort study of all consecutive Aortic aneurysms in patients diagnosed bechet’s disease treated between 2018-2021. The aim of this study is to evaluate efficacy &outcome of endovascular stent graft implantation for the treatment of Aortic aneurysm in Bechet’s disease. From feb 2018 to august 2021, 11 Aortic aneurysms were diagnosed in 10 patients with Bechet’s disease. All patients were male. The patients ranged in age from 33 to 66 years (median ,41 years). There were three infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm, two supra celiac aneurysm, three descending thoracic, one Aortic arch aneurysm, and one patient had both pararenal &descending thoracic aneurysm. All patients received immunosuppressive therapy before intervention to induce remission. After hospital discharge, all patients were followed up regularly at 3 months intervals. The mean duration of follow-up was 22.6 months (range ,1-39 months). A straight tube graft was implanted in nine patients and a bifurcated graft in one patient. Two stage procedures (debranching before endovascular therapy) were performed in three patients.
A study on renal stones incidence with regard to age, gender and chemical composition of stones in Western Iraq
This study was done to calculate the incidence of urinary stones in relation to age, gender and chemical composition of urinary stone. Moreover, the study was conducted in the period from the 1st of December 2020 to 1st of December 2021. Hundred patients were included in the study from both sexes, their ages ranged from 24 to 57year whom diagnosed with renal stone. All samples analyzed qualitatively by standard methods. The study showed that renal stones were more in males (80%) than females (20%) with male to female ratio of 4:1 with higher occurrence at the age of 50-57years. The commonest type was the calcium salts (oxalate and non-oxalate). Finally, the researcher concludes that the urinary stones are a common disease in west of Iraq with higher incidence in men than women. The commonest age of occurrence is 50-57 years and the commonest type is calcium oxalate
Dynamic scale factor based elephant herding optimization with weighted support vector machine for COVID-19 prediction
The rapid spread of Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) makes its detection among the greatest challenges worldwide. A recent report indicates that COVID-19 has been detected in over 1.6 million individuals across several countries. To predict the risk of COVID-19, predictive diagnostic models have been developed to assist clinicians with RT-PCR results. However, the models do not provide the level of accuracy that is possible. To solve this problem, the proposed system designed a Dynamic Scale factor based Elephant Herding Optimization (DSEHO) with Weighted Support Vector Machine (WSVM) approach for covid-19 prediction. The initial analysis includes a dataset of COVID-19 patients. The data should be normalized using a min-max method. Independent Component Analysis (ICA) is introduced to decrease the dimensions. To select the optimal features, a Dynamic Scale factor based Elephant Herding Optimization (DSEHO) is implemented. For the prediction of COVID-19, Weighed Support Vector Machines (WSVM) is used. The proposed system provides improved accuracy, precision, recall, and F-measure over the previous system
Peak power management of residential building using demand side management strategies
Peak power management is one of the demand-side management methods aiming at regulating energy usage throughout the day. This paper discusses peak load, which relates to a consumer's peak demand during specific hourly hours and how to manage it. Shifting loads from demand hours to non peak hours relieves pressure on utilities to meet demand and supply while also lowering the cost to consumers. The Peak Load Management Model offers a more effective framework for lowering peak loads and moving loads from peak to off-peak hours. A cascaded artificial neural network is utilised to construct a demand side management strategy for managing peak electricity in residential buildings in this paper. The peak load control model's results and discussion are highlighted in the simulation results and performance review.
A comprehensive probabilistic analysis of PAPR reduction approach with localized mapping
In recent years, OFDMA plays a vital role in current day communications and drastically used in mobile technologies. The Maximum to Expected Power Ratio is key element in transmitter to reduce their ratio using PAPR reduction techniques needed to improve the quality of performance. The localized mapping in implemented in OFDMA and gives greater improvement in reduction of PAPR which improves the performance. The next generation communication needs versatile technologies to develop their performance in order to achieve the good quality of service. The probabilistic approach like Selective Mapping (SLM) and Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) are proposed in Localized –OFDMA in order to give better solution. In this paper, the proposed approach L-PTS outperforms the L-SLM and better trade-off the power ratio with error rate
Primary education system of Punjab in the COVID 19 era: Problem and challenges
This era came with various challenges for mankind through the start of covid-19. The pandemic started from the city of wuhan, china as per reports. The covid-19 pandemic has come up as a life-threatening disease to human existence. The effect of covid-19 is going to leave long term damages to the entire education system and the human life. In order to deal with the pandemic to ensure the suppression of the virus transmission lockdown was implemented in the various parts of the world as this action was considered to bring down the continuously increasing rate in the rise of covid-19 cases. The largest impact on the human life would be in the section on education system. As education decides the future of the country by making a population which contribute in the growth of any nation. The main purpose of the study of the paper is to highlight the problems and challenges that the system is facing and discussion them thoroughly
Theoretical foundations of collaboration learning in the lessons
Currently, the school traditionally directs its main efforts towards teaching the specific content of curricula, mainly paying attention to subject-oriented (meaningful) knowledge. Learning about different approaches to teaching, collaborative strategies, including group learning, occurs spontaneously. An analysis of the works of general and special pedagogy and psychology showed that recent years have been characterized by increased attention to this problem. Thus, the purpose of this work is to consider the problem of teaching educational cooperation in the process of learning a foreign language. In accordance with the set goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks in the work: Consider the concept of learning collaboration, Identify types of educational collaboration, Describe the approaches to the organization of educational cooperation
The difference in the immunological parameters of T-cells and B-cells for patients with cancerous blood diseases compared to others when infected with the emerging corona virus
Lymphocytes and T-cell subsets (CD4+T and CD3+T) and CD19 B cells play an important role in maintaining the function of the immune system. The study showed a clear decrease in peripheral lymphocytes in patients with COVID-19, and the reason may be attachment to the virus or indirectly due to immune injuries from inflammatory mediators, and it may lead to the secretion of lymphocytes circulating in the lung tissue Inflammatory conditions also lead to lymphocytopenia, and viral infection can cause an imbalance in the levels of lymphocyte subgroups. The cell surface molecules of CD3 and CD4 T cells and CD19 B cells participate in the humoral immunity against viral infection. A decrease in the level of these cells was observed less in severe cases compared to mild cases. Patients with lymphocytic leukemia often suffer from weak immune status When they are exposed to risk factors for infection with the Corona virus-1
